Fantasy community fixates on Aguero fitness ahead of Watford trip

Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) looks unlikely to start for Manchester City when they face Watford at Vicarage Road on Tuesday night.

His fitness is the primary concern for Fantasy managers with the Gameweek 15 deadline looming large.

You can read the latest injury news and predicted line-ups in our TEAM NEWS tab above, or watch our latest Conference Call video, which can be found at the foot of this article or on our YouTube channel.

Manager Pep Guardiola admitted he did not know if Aguero would be fit in time for Gameweek 15 in his Monday press conference, but the Fantasy Premier League community has been in overdrive ever since in their attempts to find out more.

Pictures emerged of a training session on Monday in which Aguero was not clearly seen although there were plenty of attempts to find him in the background.

On Tuesday morning images emerged of Manchester City travelling by train to Watford and the Manchester Evening News reported that Aguero and team-mate Oleksandr Zinchenko (£4.8m) were not spotted with the group. There are now reports in the media that Aguero has suffered an injury setback but nothing has been confirmed on this front yet.

That is probably good news for the large number of Fantasy managers moving Aguero on for Harry Kane (£12.4m) or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.1m) in time for Tuesday’s deadline.

As per usual, there were no real indicators from Guardiola over who else might be in and out of the City team. Fabian Delph (£5.3m) and Gabriel Jesus (£10.1m) feel the most likely to start given the reported injuries in their positions.

We could see some rotation at Liverpool as well as Jurgen Klopp provided some updates on Sadio Mané (£9.8m) and Andrew Robertson (£6.5m). The former has a cut on his foot and would apparently miss the trip to Burnley if it was taking place on Tuesday. That makes him quite unlikely to start Gameweek 15 while Robertson’s dead leg is not considered to be too serious.

“Sadio (Mané) and (Andrew) Robertson we have to have another look today. Sadio has an awful cut on his foot so it needed to be stitched. He’s okay, he’s walking around here now but in flip-flops. We don’t play in flip-flops. With (Robertson) it’s not that serious, like with Sadio, but we need to have a look.” – Jurgen Klopp

Maurizio Sarri explained that Marcos Alonso (£7.1m) suffered a back injury in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham at the weekend. However, in the same press conference that the injury was revealed in, the Blues’ manager confirmed he would be ready to play in Gameweek 15. The same was the case with Mateo Kovacic (£5.8m), while Ross Barkley (£5.8m) was indirectly given the all-clear when Sarri explained there were no injuries for him to worry about.

“I spoke with the doctor ten minutes ago, but we have no injuries at the moment. We have a little problem with Kovacic and Alonso in he last match, but they are ready to play.” – Maurizio Sarri

The return of Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) could be a potential game-changer for Fantasy managers looking to jump in on Spurs’ fixture-swing. It was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that the right-back was available for selection against Southampton. Whether he will start is another matter but his return to fitness does allow another route into Spurs’ attack in the coming weeks and at £6.1m he is under half the price of popular Gameweek 15 transfer target Kane. Anyone buying the talismanic strike can also feel confident with Trippier back in the side as he is a regular provider of assists for him.

Meanwhile, Erik Lamela (£6.3m), Davinson Sánchez (£5.8m), Mousa Dembele (£4.9m) and Victor Wanyama (£4.9m) were all ruled out of Gameweek 15.

“We’re going to play a lot of games. Some players we cannot rotate for different reasons. Some maybe need to rest. It’s so important the health of the squad and we believe we can win with anyone on the pitch.” – Mauricio Pochettino

There was no such detailed update from Manchester United where Jose Mourinho was reticent to provide much injury information. There are several defenders with yellow flags to their name ahead of Gameweek 15, including Luke Shaw (£5.0m), Chris Smalling (£5.7m) and Eric Bailly (£5.1m) while Victor Lindelöf (£4.8m) is out for some weeks and Ashley Young (£5.7m) misses out on Arsenal through suspension.

“No. I don’t want to update you, Arsenal TV make the same questions but they don’t they hide everything from the inside, so why should I answer to you so why should I give anything to you.” – Jose Mourinho

Hesitant as f@#$ atm , is Sane essential , is he 4 points better than Martial and why does -8 feel so dirt? I will take -4 anyday but -8 seems far to much , what to do what to do??

Ask yourself am I gonna end up taking another -4 next week after Sane hauls? If so just do it now.

He probably is, or if it's 3 points better or two it partially pays for a good move

Cheers guys , can't really find a clear and conscious decision but Sane is a now or never probably with Chelsea at weekend , he starts to lose value a little bit because I miss a plum fixture in Watford and with Sterling and Sane both in my team I got some sort of attack in City.

Current team. Did Kun > Auba last night to avoid price rise/drop:

    Ederson. Hamer
    Alonso .AWB. Robbo. Digne. Doherty
    Salah. Maddison. Martial. Richarlison. Fraser
    Auba. Arnie. Murray

    Considering this WC team:

    Fabianski. Hamer
    TA. Alonso. AWB. Laporte. Balbuena
    Mahrez/Sane. Sterling. Anderson. Son. Billing
    Auba. Wilson. Mitro

    Thoughts?

Mahrez/Sane just for tonight. Will then likely move to Mane once fit.

If it was last season, I'd say yes, but with the injury/fitness issues with Eriksen this season, I think he is as much a rotation risk as Son.

Problem is with West Ham is the goals can come from multiple avenues, it's very unlikely Arnie is going to get a brace and an assist or a hat-trick for example. Should be goals but I can't see one player getting a lot of points compared to your other options.

Not sure Sterling will start, Salah hasn't been firing on all cylinders yet (may change tomorrow but I can't see it) which leaves Auba for me.

Think that's very easily Wilson. Mitrovic inferior player in an inferior team with a new manager/setup in place.

Wilson scores whenever he wants now and has some decent in form players behind him too.

Was very tempted to bring him in this week but would've had to have been for a hit for Jimenez so have opted against it. Can't see any reason to suggest his form is going to dip any time soon - he's having the time of his career and finally in the England team.

Mitrovic isn't inferior to Wilson but not a lot in it. Wilson in the better team. Mitrovic can still be 'emotional' but is maturing.

            1. JohnnyMagrinho
                5 years, 5 months ago

Wilson is a far, far better player than Mitrovic. Has so much more to his game than him. Really is no question about it.

            Best option for this GW:

            a) Doherty (CHE)
            b) AWB (bha)

Not a massive decision just interested to see if people think Doherty's chance of goal involvement is more likely than Crystal Palace not conceding against Brighton away as AWB is hardly likely to register any attacking return.

Pretty convinced Doherty is the better option as I can't see Brighton not being able to score at home against Palace...

Ditched early in the season for Sterling and haven't looked back.

No news. Really hope that he is - I've no-shows Ings and Neves stinking up my bench

Very doubtful. He has a dead leg and West Ham have made “a number of changes”

              Robbo to Trippier**

Exactly what I did. I'm not as convinced as others as to how easy Liverpool will find this game tomorrow evening, Robbo isn't going to play and I mean, come on, if you're thinking about Trippier already there's surely only a few games you'd prefer to have him in your team for right?

Question really is though, will he outscore Doherty by 4 as that’s who I have coming in if Robbo doesn’t play..
                    Not so sure..

Potential for Aurier to come back in at the weekend to keep Trippier for champions league also...

Tottenham said he's available for selection for tomorrow's game.

I think he's always got a chance of outscoring any other defender by 4 points. He's an exceptional player with a huge points ceiling for a defender and against an awful, awful team.

Doherty is in a vastly inferior side up against far, far better opposition.

Of course anything can happen but on paper and experience of both players, all teams considered and duties within the squads, Trippier is the much better option. I'd probably be happy with 2 points from Doherty, whereas I'd be expecting anywhere from 6-10 points from Trippier and want him long term, too.

I always find it incredibly disheartening when you line up a hit and then ignore it because of losing some points and then it comes in without you. I know it's a game and you want to win but part of the experience is going with your head, sometimes with your heart and sometimes the stats.

Question I ask is does Trippier play at the weekend though? Coming off an injury and with Barca on midweek find it hard to imagine him playing all 3 in 8 days. Problem could be having the same selection headache on Friday if fear he won’t play.

Don’t take hits on defenders, so much ground to make up with -4

Very negligible. Entirely circumstantial - things need to happen whether it's a defender or any other position.

Surely your forward takes precedence here.

Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane are in electric form at the moment and are difficult to leave out the team.

Tyrone's XI: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Delph; Bernardo, Gundogan, David Silva; Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Sané.
