Llorente leads the line for Spurs as Pochettino deploys wing-backs

The final match of Gameweek 23 takes place this afternoon at Craven Cottage, as Fulham face injury-hit Tottenham Hotspur. Kick-off is at 16:00 GMT.

Spurs are, of course, without Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko, all of whom have played vital roles for the Lilywhites over the last couple of months.

Lucas Moura, meanwhile, isn’t fit to feature because of a knee injury.

Fernando Llorente is handed his first Premier League start of the season and only his second in a Spurs shirt, with Erik Lamela and Davinson Sanchez also given recalls as Mauricio Pochettino switches from a 4-4-2 diamond to what looks like a 3-4-2-1.

That system change would likely see Christian Eriksen – who was bought by over 100,000 FPL managers ahead of Gameweek 23 – drop back into a central midfield two alongside Harry Winks.

Danny Rose replaces Ben Davies on the left flank, meanwhile.

Claudio Ranieri’s only alteration sees Ryan Babel make his Fulham debut in place of Ryan Sessegnon.

As expected, Aboubakar Kamara isn’t involved in the Cottagers’ match-day squad after a reported training ground bust-up.

Spurs won the reverse fixture of this match 3-1 back in August, with Kieran Trippier the only one of the three Spurs goalscorers who lines up this afternoon.

Aleksandar Mitrovic was on target for Fulham at Wembley.

The Cottagers have conceded more goals, big chances and efforts on target than any other Premier League side in 2018/19 but Ranieri’s troops have only conceded four goals in their four most-recent top-flight fixtures at Craven Cottage.

Fulham XI (3-4-3): Rico, Odoi, Ream, Le Marchand, Christie, Seri, Chambers, Bryan, Babel, Schurrle, Mitrovic.

Spurs XI (3-4-2-1): Lloris, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Winks, Eriksen, Trippier, Dele, Lamela, Llorente.

Doherty (1) Digne (-1) Robertson (5) Shaw (did not play)
    Alli (9) Salah c (30) Sane (12) Pogba (8)
    Firmino (8) Rashford (8)

    (Button), Jimmy (5), AWB, Puncheon

    WC worked well. 88 points.

But now maybe need to replace Alli somehow.. But who take Alli's place? 0,2£ ITB.

How did Salah non-owners here cope this week.? I got pretty lucky with a small green. Did you have a disaster or manage to salvage a reasonable score?

He's nigh on essential now surely?

No FA Cup for lpool. well rested before meeting up with a lack-lustre leicester and in a side chasing every point in an attempt to stave off the challenge of the Citeh behemoth?

      1. Deulofail

Nigh on, Anddrew, nigh on 🙂

No FA Cup is a plus, though they also have no DGWs, which is something to consider along with our chip strategies. I think the rest of your post is just narrative, though. It may or may not mean anything for the future (fantasy) football outcomes. City being a Behemoth may put too much pressure on Pool still one of their players slips up. You can sort of write it any which way you want.

          • 12 Years
          5 years, 3 months ago

          You can indeed.

I've heard it bandies about that DGW's also mean blanks too so it's swings and roundabouts I guess. Salah just seems to be that player who very seldom disappoints. Good work though getting green arrows without him

Yeah blanks and doubles go hand in hand, but they are spread apart so you may be able to get more fixtures than your friends if you plan wisely. We'll get more info before the next GW.

            Cheers man

Digne coming off your bench is kind of a blow, but congrats on having the balls to go without Salah. Surprised you scored that well. I brought Salah in this week so I can't comment.

I nearly brought him this week. I'd have surely scored more with him of course, but there's only a couple of centermetres in it 😀

Looks like I could be able to punish Salah owners in any week he doesn't deliver, but I'll have egg on my face if he continues to return so consistently 🙂

Absolutely gutted. Sane and Raz(c) kinda saved me some face but ended up with 59(-4). Mini league rivals captained Salah. Yet another lucky haul for him where he didn't play well yet got two very fortunate goals. I feel like I can't catch a break.

With Silva's job on the line against Huds.. does this help or hurt Rich's chances of keeping his spot? Have to expect some sort of change given the severity of the situtation. Maybe DCL up top, Digne as LM, and Baines as LB. Rich maybe benched?

    1. Hazz
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Imagine Silva benching Richarlison if his job was on the line. He'd be flamed if they didn't come out with a result.

      1. Boo Ya Ka Sha
        • 9 Years
        5 years, 3 months ago

I know he put his neck on the line by spending 50mil for Rich. But he took him off early this week, and Rich is a bit out of form, maybe he needs a bit of a mental rest. Just imagining Silva trying to shake things up; motivate sporadic squad players by giving them a chance to prove themselves.

    2. Amey
      • 5 Years

      He won't bench him imo.
His job on the line is dangerous for everyone involved too.
Patience needed at Everton. Nothing is going to happen if they keep chopping managers every year.

I completely agree. It's a bit comical how little of chance managers get nowadays. Managers should be judged after 2-3 years in charge, unless it's obviously not working (dressing room issues, Mou-like interviews, etc.) Sir Alex had a bad first season with United, imagine if he was let go. I also feel like Jokanović deserved more time in the epl. He's obviously a top manager, otherwise he wouldn't be consistently getting teams promoted.

          • 5 Years

          Yeah.
Particularly with Everton I think they should stick to him for some time now
They have invested heavily for last 2-3 season's Wich can't be replicated continually as everyone ain't got limitless pockets like city, United etc

Can't really expect KDB to have the same ceiling as Sane. I guess the 'gamble' has to do with 'nailedness' given Mendy's inevitable return. But yeah, I'm feeling pretty stupid for avoiding Sane all season.

I dont know what to think.

1:The fact that Son,Kane and Alli are out of the picture might hurt his output because there is nobody to really get on the end of his creativity?

2:Eirksen is the main man now and will be over all pens and free kicks and will be the hero to save Spurs while the others out?

Punt on Jesus>Vardy, he gets in behind vs attacking teams. Only decent time to have Vardy but I wouldnt recommend it unless you have someone like Jesus you need to ditch, and besides Firmino still a better option unelss you alreayd got him
    But there ya go

I’ve been to the Leicester games and as a supporter I don’t have confidence in Vardy at the moment. They aren’t getting the ball to him enough

If you're going to keep him regardless of the extent of his injury them I'm afraid you're running down a blind Alli.

If he’s out for the first PL game he’ll like be out for two.

Laporte has to be the troll of the season for me

6 pointers every week, then I decide to buy him and 1 cs in 8 gameweeks, and now when I’ve got rid City start getting cleansheets again 😀

I dislike Liverpool as much as the next man but you have to acknowledge it's all adding up in their favour. The four flukey goals yesterday, coupled with palaces goalkeeping misfortunes, the constantly unpunished Salah dives, Mahrez penalty, son not given penalty, sturridge's one in a million shot at Chelsea. Hey I'm still hopeful they'll choke but my faith is being eroded
