FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Gameweek 1

FPL Question Time returns for the 2019/20 campaign and we are inviting Fantasy Football Scout users to submit their questions ahead of Friday’s Gameweek 1 deadline.

Be it premium midfielders, ‘big six’ assets, five at the back, £4.0m options or any other subject you’re musing on, be sure to ask your question via the Google Form below.

As per last season, we have recruited the services of some familiar names from our site and on social media to share their opinion on the subjects you raise.

Who’s on the panel this week?

FPL General – Contributor to the Scout site who has three finishes inside the top 400 in the last five seasons and who has a huge following on Twitter. General – aka Mark – also appeared on the official FPL Show last season.

Who Got the Assist? – Tom and Nick run one of Twitter’s most active Fantasy accounts and run their very own blog, also producing an excellent regular podcast.

FPL Family – Lee and Sam run the popular Fantasy podcast and Twitter account. They were guests on the FPL Show last season.

Ted / Rotation’s Alter Ego – Moderator and the site’s recently appointed Assistant Community Manager. Ted finished 633rd in the world last season.

James / HamezMace  – A long-term member of and frequent poster to the Fantasy Football Scout site.

Tom / avfc82 – A long-term member of and frequent poster to the Fantasy Football Scout site. Tom has a remarkable five top 1,000 finishes to his name in ten years of playing FPL.

    Not sure on Mings, want a Villa defender but cant see many attacking returns?

      Prefer Perez to Barkley... Think Mount is knocking on the door. Targett or Guilbert over Mings.

      That actually looks strong. Could go Siggy -> Perez and upgrade kelly to have some rotation/extra bench.

        With Trippier gone I heard he was the favourite to replace him but worst comes to worst I've got Cathcart who has good fixtures

        Was thinking that Martial could be good value as he's been playing up front from time to time recently as well as Lucas

          Rashford will stay at centre forward, but interchangeable with Martial off he left. Risk is that if Martial is blank after 65, he'll probably get hooked for Lingard/Mata/James/Sanchez etc.

            Think rashford will be winger with martial at forward. Rashford tracks back on defense and the winger has been responsible with marking the fullback. Martial has a horrible work rate so all will be asked of him is to block an easy pass to the other cb when they press.

            They will be interchanging in attack though and will likely be spending about the same amount of time in each position when they have possession of the ball

    Ended up with triple Bournemouth because of deulofeu uncertainty and Jota schedule..

      I'm close to doing that for the same reasons!
      Want to upgrade King to Wilson but also have Deulofeu to worry about...
      Not fully decided yet. Waiting on reports from Watford.

      I had similar a few weeks back. Someone mentioned on previous page that some Bournemouth fans are uncertain on king starting. Thoughts on Wesley or Adams over King? Frees 0.5 as well...

      Also obviously Kean could be an option if (hopefully) 6.5. Otherwise strong team and similar to mine

    Thoughts? Wesley and Moura obviously the more punty options to start with, any suggestions other than them? Bear in mind I also have a whopping 1.5m ITB still to play with as well...

        Cheers chap. Would Moura be one you’d punt on to start off with? Obviously others around that price point if it fails, same with Wesley.

      I'd be tempted to make wesley haller. Tough opening fixture, but great run after that.

        Both good shouts that I actually hadn’t considered. Do you think VVD over Robbo is ok to start with?

        And do you think the £ is better spent on that than getting a more expensive/different kid than Moura?

          Not sure who I would upgrade moura too. Sigurdsson maybe. Actually don't mind moura as there a a few at that same price you can switch to. If you're upgrading you really want 2.0 to bring kdb/son/pepe in to play

      Kelly should get until Tomkins is back. One of them started every game at RCB last year, That includes 4 games W/ sakho but no tomkins and the last 5. Dann seems to have been a solution to their ineptitude at LCB.

      The other two are hit and miss, Rico in particular could start 30+ but just as easily barely play. Best to start with kelly and see where things stand with the WC

    Playing around with something a little different. Obviously lumping a lot in Liverpool's defensive assets but reason is in their attacking returns and only needing one team to keep a clean sheet each week rather than 3-4. Thoughts?

      Could be golden if it works. Flipside is that you only have one chance at a CS each week then though, and miss out (at least initially) on two players who got 44 goals and however many assists between them last season

      Thinking of him too, as above. Drawback is city gw2 obviously, and maybe not nailed long term but as you say is probably a short term punt. Feels more fun than the typical Fraser (most including me already have another bou attacker) or sig/rich (Everton been poor preseason) at that pricepoint

    Do you think Kane is worth the extra over son?

    Son gets extra for cs and goal. Kane’s role seemed to have changed to having son and Moura make runs off of him. However ndombele might change this. Also Kane finally is fully rested.

      I’m keeping a close eye on Kane, but Wilson will almost definitely be my most expensive striker to start off with. And, I’m much more interested in a fit and nailed Son tbh

      Stones is an interesting one. If Zinch loses his place that’s an easy swap at least. Can’t say for sure if nailed yet though. With their first two Fraser and Wilson probably is fine. I’m looking at other options like Moura possibly though too

      Swap out Wood Sterling Mo for KdB Kane Auba and 0.5 less in defence - Coleman over Digne but same question with Stones.

    Phew FPL team finally done, I can go to sleep at last.

    4-5-1 with me not finding a lot of value upfront gone for a stacked Midfield and Defence.
