Which Spurs players are worth owning in FPL this season?

Tottenham Hotspur players are causing some Fantasy Premier League managers dilemmas at the start of the season.

They have a favourable opening fixture at home to Aston Villa but with a trip to Manchester City in Gameweek 2 and relatively expensive price points, their assets could be the ones to miss out on those initial teams.

However, there are some encouraging reasons to own some of Mauricio Pochettino’s players at the start of the new campaign.

In this article we assess Spurs’ defensive and attacking potential based on last season’s underlying statistics.

As this analysis uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

      I would argue not 1.5m more.

      Wilson - 168 pts
      King - 141 pts

      Ederson - 169 pts
      Ryan - 104pts

      The difference is 1.5m. And yet you see a lot more people picking Pope/Heaton instead of Ederson to fund Wilson over King.

        Unfair comparison.

        You're far more likely to have a GK for the whole season as opposed to a 6.5/8m striker. You would switch at some point to maximise points potential.

          It's still clearly a better use of funds to get King and Ederson over Wilson and Pope.

        Yeah exactly right with king, I actually had deloufeu but he was flagged so I opted for king.

        I generally start slow while monitoring stats and like the odd differential like Kola.

        I figured if he's still on a high from bullying those robbers he may take that on to the pitch and he's good value to swap for another player same price

        Mili can be downgraded to upgrade wood to a 7m Chelsea striker if one emerges as the main man.

    Already own Wilson and King, so a bit tentative on the Bournemouth treble up. That being said, Bournemouth have 2 very good fixtures to begin with and Everton's pre-season doesn't fill me with the confidence to trust their attack + spend £6m on Digne. Moreover, Fraser and Wilson have had good pre-seasons... Argh decisions, decisions!

      As SSK teams go it's pretty good, I don't like the Burnley double up and as I mentioned below I prefer Targett at that price from the start. I wouldn't go with B. Silva myself but I can't make much of an argument against having him either.

    I originally had Ryan + Walker but swapped them out for Ederson and Targett. With Cancelo likely signing (or already signed?), I've decided to go for Ederson as a guaranteed route into the City defence. Targett is my 4.5 def of choice as Villa have great opening fixtures and he should be nailed.

        The double Liv defence has become a bit less template in recent weeks but I'm sticking with it I think. At the moment it looks like Barkley is first choice but Mount will get game time, also on pens during pre-season. He seems to be a marmite pick on here.

    I'm currently on 3-5-2
    With the arrival of Cancelo, it feels there uncertainty in City fullbacks, so I decided to avoid them and going with 3 defs. And I go for Robinson as the fifth mids instead of Dendo. Thus I have Guilbert as first subs, it feels better then Dendo as first sub too.

    What's your thoughts?
