Tottenham Hotspur players are causing some Fantasy Premier League managers dilemmas at the start of the season.

They have a favourable opening fixture at home to Aston Villa but with a trip to Manchester City in Gameweek 2 and relatively expensive price points, their assets could be the ones to miss out on those initial teams.

However, there are some encouraging reasons to own some of Mauricio Pochettino’s players at the start of the new campaign.

In this article we assess Spurs’ defensive and attacking potential based on last season’s underlying statistics.

As this analysis uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

    Whats peoples thoughts on Wan Biscuits (aka Bissaka)? United too unpredictable at the back?

      Great option. They underperformed last year but I think they will be solid at the back this year and look good value at 5.5. I'm picking Shaw over AWB and Maguire though.

    The threat of rotation to Coleman, Walker and Walker-Peters is quite concerning and I cannot really afford to swap them out for the likes of Robbo, Digne and Laporte without downgrading Kane and Sterling which in my opinion is a bit crazy.

    Would really like some feedback on this as I cannot seem to settle on a team that Im 95% happy with.

          A United def and a nailed Spurs def probably. Not a fan of Zinchenko as he's a transfer waiting to happen and didn't look very attacking in the CS.

              I'm on Shaw currently as he has the most attacking potential. But could go either way.
              Not sure on Spurs either, Rose could be great if nailed. Vertonghen probably the safest pick.

      Template. Everything else is personal choice and bias. Personally, although a Chelsea fan, not sure if Barkley will start gameweek1, so might be worth re-considering.

      I really dont like the Zinchenko pick if your going for a city defender surely u want someone nailed especially when u have no bench.

    Robbo, VVD, Zinchenko + 2x4,0
    Salah, Sterling, Zaha, 2x4,5
    Kane, jota, king

    B) 4-3-3
    Robbo, TAA, Laporte, Digne
    Salah, Sterling, Zaha, 4,5
    Jota, deuolofeu, king

    Settled for B for quite some time now, but starting to think that Kane might get some good points. Also easier to convert Kane to Deulofeu+Perez or any other combination?
    The only thing that concerns me is that with B i‘ll have a 4,5 midfielder starting who‘s probably only fiving me 2 points week in week out.

    Thoughts?

          Pereyra and Moutinho for Zaha and 4.5. Might be safer than Zaha if he doesn’t go to Everton. The Heaton hype only makes sense if being rotated with Pope as avoid top6 opponents.

    MID: Fraser, Moura, Salah (c), Sterling (v), Perez
    FWD: King, Jota

      Good team. Problem with going five in midfield is you don't have 4.0 def. that starts this year. Plus no 4.5 fwd that starts. Maybe King or Jota to 6.0 fwd and get a 4.5 def that plays.

        Makes perfect sense because I usually play four in MID then three in FWD (3-4-3 formation), I don't know why I decided to change my usual formation to the current one which is 3-5-2. Thanks mate, I appreciate the input, let me work on it.

      I was going to ask where is the money before looking at your bench. Too much money on bench. Downgrade at least one and upgrade your first team. Plus Zaha hasn't played pre season. Might not start gw1.

        Swapped out Ryan and Coleman for Pope and Rico. Used the extra cash to replace Zaha and Perez for Moura and Fraser.
