Virtual FPL came to a conclusion on Sunday evening, with Fábio Borges – a name many of you will be familiar with from our Hall of Fame – clinching the inaugural title.

Ragabolly’s Fantasy management game launched way back on April 11 and has filled an FPL-shaped void for thousands of us over the last two months.

Gameweeks had been held four times a week until recently, when the pace was stepped up in order to complete this simulated season before the real-life version restarts on Wednesday.

Fábio, a long-time leader of the overall standings during the middle part of the campaign, reclaimed top spot on the final day, having gone into Gameweek 38 in third position.

Despite taking a hit and not using a chip, he leapfrogged Atticus Finch and Jürgen Clough to finish ten points clear of the chasing pack.

The decision to hand the armband to Anthony Martial proved to be a sage one, with the Frenchman racking up a 16-point haul.

Atticus, who had led the way in six of the preceding seven Gameweeks, finished in second despite the deployment of his Bench Boost chip.

The podium finishers above were the 1-2-3 in our Fantasy Football Scout mini-league, too, with T Rev, Mr Hindsight, Merseyside is Blue and Joe Gumbie also featuring in both tables.

Let’s Talk FPL’s Andy finished top of the pile among the Mods and Cons, while the aforementioned Mr Hindsight was the winner of Greyhead‘s The Great and The Good league.

Not only that, Mr Hindsight won the final of the second vFPL Cup of the campaign.

For those that are interested: Liverpool won the Virtual FPL title on the very last day, with Newcastle United, West Ham United and Aston Villa consigned to the drop.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the Golden Boot winner, finishing on 32 goals.

A huge shout goes out to Ragabolly for all his hard work in creating and maintaining the game, as well as those who also contributed their free time to this incredible project – the likes of TopMarx, Hassanality and FPLHints, amongst others – since its launch.

El Ghazi worth a punt for GW30 only. Doucoure is also a very good option but if you can stretch to Sarr definitely do so.

Doucoure is better after GW30, but if you want a GW30 only punt, El Ghazi's your man

I'm currently on the strategy GW 30 UT and BB, GW 31 WC, GW 38 FH but is anyone else considering GW 30 UT and BB, GW 31 FH and GW 32 WC?

I can't imagine a better week fixtures wise for FH. Pool, Spurs, Leicester, Everton, Wolves and maybe Arsenal all have very appealing fixtures from an attacking point of view.

I know some people are considering this but with WC 33 once the City vs Pool game is out of the way. I'm not a fan of that though because it means you likely have a very poor team in GW32 full of Sheff, Villa and City with not optimum fixtures.

I think it makes a lot of sense, but do you really need to GW31 FH, or can you just make a BB GW30 team that covers both by using an FT?

You'll bench most of your Sheff Utd contingent, though you'll (probably) be light on Man Utd players anyway, and Auba can stay for one more favourable fixture too.

It's not a case of needing to FH 31, just if that is the best opportunity for points for it with some great fixtures. Is that better than GW38? I'm not sure!

I think it's hard to build a good BB team and one that works for 32 as well. To be able to afford Aguero and Auba that means Salah and Mane have to go but I'd try to get both of them back on FH 31 and one of them back in WC 32. Then I'd have 3 rotation risk City against Chelsea, I can take the risk on rotation in a DGW but not a single.

What's your team value like? I need to keep one of Salah or Mane, probably the former due to ownership in my mini league (but depends on fitness).

Means you can't have 12 DGWs (without getting absolute Villa fodder) but not sure that's such a bad thing.

For clarity I'm still advocating wildcarding in 32.

I see you've got a similar team to my GW38 and slightly more team value. Easy for me to say this but even with two fixtures, do you really want to load up on any of the teams?

TV is decent at 107.4. I'll lose 0.5 on Mane and 0.2 on Salah but for FH I can live with that if I go for both. For WC I'd probably replace Mane with Son and take the 0.2 hit on bringing Salah back.

I think Grealish is a decent option long term and McGinn a good DGW punt. But I wouldn't want both in squad outside of DGW. I'll have Targett for DGW which I have little expectation for but he is an enabler and not much more.

This is my BB team. Plan to keep TAA, Doherty and Jimi on WC so makes sense to keep them when they have decent GW30 fixtures and won't free up loads for BB while ditching, but also have TV tied up in them.

            Hendo / Leno
            TAA / Doherty / Stevens / Baldock / Targett
KDB (VC) / Mahrez / Grealish / McGinn
            Aguero (C) / Auba / Jimi

I'm not a million miles off that core but didn't want McGinn anywhere near my team, and have a lot of cash tied up in DCL.

Good luck with Mahrez, really could go either way!

Yes the Mahrez bit worries me, ideally he would be Sterling but there's just too many compromises required elsewhere. It is a gamble I know, I just hop Pep put some faith in him. I'm a City fan and think Sane is the best winger at the club but if it is a done deal to Bayern (if!) then surely he will back the guy staying over him. If Mahrez plays a game and a half I'm confident of returns.

It's a tricky one mate, I just feel like in the current climate with games possibly being postponed key players possibly having to isolate that a FH chip could be incredibly useful

Yes there is the advantage of having it in back pocket for any unexpected DGWs that might come up. Good thing is either strategy doesn't affect my plans this GW so I can think/stew on it a while longer!

      Agree on FH31.
But I've been thinking about WC32 and WC33 and the latter seems better for me. The City vs Pool is one thing like you said, but it also allows you to captain Auba GW32 vs Norwich and get rid of him in GW33, which seems like an optimal time.

And this team doesn't look that bad GW32. With 1FT to spare; to get rid of Sterling probably.

      Leno
      TAA, Stevens, Lascelles
      Sterling, KDB, Grealish, Barnes
      Auba (C), Jimenez, Samatta

It doesn't look that bad on paper but if you analyse it, seems setup for a poor week to me.

Sterling is generally awful against Pool and rotation risk (which I can put up with on DGW but not SGW). You could sort with FT like you say though.

You'd fancy a Spuds side with Kane, Son and Alli fit to score against Sheff.

Auba never seems to be captain material, rarely hauls and disappoints in the games you'd expect him to do well. Maybe he just doesn't get enough chances to haul when played from the wing. His class shows and he's a good finisher and trickles along with the points, but not explosive enough in his role to captain for me.

It's a tough one. I'm not sure I have the balls to play 3 chips in consecutive weeks either way. Seems far too decadent ha

Yeah, I will probably do Sterling -> Bruno/Martial in GW32.

I think I don't mind having one SHU def against Spurs at home, especially Stevens with his attacking stats (0.16 xA90).

About Auba, I honestly don't see a better C option in GW32. I guess you could do Bruno/Martial/Rashford or maybe Abraham, but I don't see any of them as a better option than Auba for now.

Do you have some kind of provisional WC32 draft?

Yes, true. One Sheff defender isn't that bad. Plus Stevens looks great on the eye from an attacking perspective and stats back it up even if the returns aren't as high as they could be.

Don't really have a costed draft. Just know that it will probably contain the below and I'll work around it.

            TAA / Doherty
            Salah / Son / KDB / Grealish
            Jimi

Chelsea have nice fixtures so I'll be looking at how they do this week. Though they have rotation risk everywhere which puts me off a bit.

I would probably fund Jesus up front instead of Jota and replace pepe with bruno (Ederson to hederson or reina can help in the funding of that move)

      Any suggestions?

      Leno Patricio
      Baldock-Egan-Basham-Targett-Saiss

      Jiminez-Aguero-Aubamayang

What DGW punts are folk taking for GW30 then?

I am considering throwing in Engels (4.3) for Villa's 2 home games. Reckon Smith will set out a 451 against SHU making Engels likely to pair up with Mings.

          Hello all

I need a midfielder for 4.7 million long-term and I see everyone recommending Cantwell but his minutes had been reduced majorly before lockdown?

I’m thinking Saka or Duda.. thoughts?

            Hi Guys,

I've been totally out of the FPL loop recently - I have all 3 chips available, and apparently can make unlimited free changes up until the deadline.

Could someone please point me through the general consensus on when to use chips in the near future?

Probably not, although his form pre-lockdown was woeful and I like many Villa fans would prefer Nyland.

I can only assume the reason why Nyland hasn't played more is the terms of Reina's loan deal.

Punting on Aguero.. More explosive, but also rotation prone. High risk high reward. If your not chasing, then prolly KDB

4.7 to spend and this is a long-term pick.

I’m on BB with McCarthy as back-up keeper is it still worth getting Cantwell even though they play each other?

Or is Saka the better option?
