FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

The third round of our FFS Cup was played out in Gameweek 31+ and now just 64 Fantasy managers remain in contention.

There’s no respite for those involved as the fourth round takes place in Gameweek 32+, the deadline for which is at 11.30am BST on Saturday.

ALL RESULTS FROM THE THIRD ROUND CAN BE VIEWED HERE
THE FULL DRAW FOR THE FOURTH ROUND IS AVAILABLE TO VIEW HERE

Wild Rover is still flying the flag for our former winners, having seen off Euroalien – who had been inside the top 1k as of the Gameweek 31+ deadline – in the round-of-128.

It wasn’t a great week for managers lurking inside the top 1,000, with rdamjan and Forza, currently ranked at 30th and 643rd respectively, also exiting the competition.

billybly is our highest-ranked FPL boss left in the cup, with his score of 105 easily good enough to see off sirakhun and sufficient to move him up to 660th in the world.

Having scored 141 points in Gameweek 30+, stamfordbridge bowed out in unfortunate circumstances after a 60-60 draw with __simdy; the latter’s superior rank seeing them through to a last-64 tie with the aforementioned billybly.

Annie also lost out on a tie-breaker after a 78-all draw with Mighty Wings.

baingaboyz was arguably even more luckless, being edged out by two points despite racking up a triple-figure score of 103.

We’ve got an all-top 2k clash in the round-of-64, with Hellraisers facing Dial Square.

Every single one of our remaining 64 managers is ranked inside the top 300,000.

HOW DO THE CUP COMPETITIONS WORK?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round were randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a draw, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

WHAT IS THE GAMEWEEK SCHEDULE?

The FFS Cup competition will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule:

Fantasy Football Scout Cup Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 28

Round 1 – Gameweek 29
Round 2 – Gameweek 30+
Round 3 – Gameweek 31+
Round 4 – Gameweek 32+
Round 5 – Gameweek 33+
Round 6 – Gameweek 34+
Quarter-Final – Gameweek 35+
Semi-Finals – Gameweek 36+
Final and third-place play-off – Gameweek 37+

WHEN ARE THE FIXTURES RELEASED?

Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published before each Gameweek deadline.

I'm half-expecting a much rotated United side for the Norwich FA Cup game today. Perfect time to give the likes of Ighalo a game.

    Captain:
    A) Martial
    B) Jimenez

Both on bench, but who gets 1st spot:
    1) Lascelles
    2) K. Femenia

Agree, I think Martial gets a rest and am captaining him with Jimenez VC. Lascelles first on bench IMO.

I'm thinking about a -12 because my team looks boring.
        lol

And yes, I'd © Jimenez as I don't trust Tony enough to © him. He can go AWOL quite easily.

Is DeBruyne a must have now the the league is decided? with the rotation risk, surely funds could be used else where?

Answered same question a minute ago....

I'd actually go with Kiko from those because I dont think the quick turnaround suits Ings and he's basically Southampton's goals. Home fixture. Close enough call between him and Holgate but yeah I'd go with Kiko. Good luck.

        But who?

I had been thinking of Kun all the way through. KdB is the obvious call I guess but the direct goal threat I think is lightly overstated from the last 2 weeks with pens and Fks

Was thinking about 38 - now looking at 33

Rotation is an obvious worry given the schedule - half thinking about United then. They have a plum fixture - Bournemouth look trash to me - and they have the extra day off.

Mo makes much more sense of course so that''s where I'll probably go when I do.

My teams got a RMT score of less than 50 and a season-low 4 Scout Picks. I and am extremely tempted to FH to the Scout Picks team with Pope and TAA instead of Martinez and Pulisic. Yes or no ? I could captain either Jimenez or Auba

    Pope
    TAA, Kiko, Holgate
    Salah, KDB, Son, Bruno
    Rashford, Jimenez (c), DCL

    to

    Pope
    TAA, Doherty, PVA, Aurier
    KDB, Martial, Son
    Auba, Jimenez, Rashford

    Button, Saka, Lescelles, 4.4m mid

Ederson, Leno, Lundy, Elmo, Barnes, McBurnie
    To
Pope, Martinez, Lascelles, Kiko, Salah, Connolly

    This weeks team would be:
    Martinez (Pope)
    TAA Saiss Lascelles (Kiko Egan)
    Salah KDB Son Bruno Saka
    Rash Jimi (Connolly)

Jimenez for me has a lower ceiling than Utd attackers this week, he had one shot on target against Bournemouth I believe, and it’s not long since that game. I think Martial gets a rest for FA Cup so I am captaining him.

I think no FA Cup game is a disadvantage for Jimi. Today's game will be his third in less than 7 days, Bruno and Martial could easily be rested this weekend, and be fresh for Brighton.

        Agreed mostly

Arsenal carved out loads of chances v Brighton (without checking stats). The upside of Jim is that he carries so much of Wolves great. Haven't checked GI but it must be huge - trickier with United where the spoils are shared around more.

Saiss for a -4 doesn't make sense this week when he could get a YC and be suspended for 2 matches.

Even if Taylor gets 2 points, Saiss kinda has to at least get a CS to have made it worthwhile.

      BB imo

That's a really strong set up. Even if you miss one to rotation there are 3 who could haul from bench. Also from here on in rotation is a danger from the tight schedule - 33 for instance is a really dangerous week with all the top teams pretty much getting only 2 days off between PL games apart from United who have 3. That's probably more dangerous than a FA cup week where most teams will field a really weak cup team

What are people's views regarding tactics this week?
Are you choosing a captain who plays before the cup games start?
Are you going to vice Jimi to cover for possible injuries to your first choice captain, using team news if available?
Are you beefing up your bench to cover a highly likely injury count in the cups?

The latter I think can have a real impact on your GW32+ score.

    Who to captain?

    A: Martial
    B: Rashford
    C: Jimenez
    D: Auba

bit worried that auba might not play from the start and usually don't like my captain in the first game of the gameweek, thoughts?
