I was just here in case there was news on Foden. I'd have taken a hit to swap him for Jota if there was reliable reports on him being out. As it is, I just switched Chilwell for Alonso.

Nothing new though. Every season there is a certain time when the template is very strong.

The more template you go, the higher you go, the more impact the fringe players have, the better you need to be as a manager

Definitely not boring, regardless of whether teams are template or not, still have to make close decisions each week and to try and boost rank

I don’t think it’s boring but I do think salah has taken the captaincy element out of the game recently. They really underpriced salah the last few years. Should be 15m to give us a decision to make

On the captain, I agree to a certain extent. Salah is as close to perma capt as I've seen since I started fpl 7 or so years ago. I took it of him for utd game and was punished badly!

But still plenty of other variants, and mo will be gone shortly, so c choices will open up!

I'd actually be happy if they done away with captain as its a huge swing if you get it wrong. But never going to happen, as it adds to the excitement.

Definitely makes it harder if you're lower ranked. Captaincy is a biggie and usually you could go for a differential captain to try and jump rank.

You can still do that but it's not really effective because Salah returns every bloody week! 😀

Salah has taken captaincy out of the game which is why im liking it better. Its a tougher game when you cant rely on your captain getting you big greens which is mostly based on luck.

It's an even playing field what's to complain about you are not disadvantaged

It's a unique situation right now in that KdB, Lukaku, Bruno, Kane, etc are all injured or anonymous.

EO wasn't even a thing a couple of season ago, yet people took more risks.
It's the knowledge of all these stats that make the herd captain out of fear....also the fact he's a pretty good footballer

Salah has had high EO prior, but now he's playing immense. There's no player in form that can rival him, so alternative is basically none. I understand people captaining attacking fullbacks, but cs bust is just one slip away and on the contrary one moment of brilliance from Salah to bring you points. You really gamble on others to outscore Salah, it's not about how the game is played as how landscape is at the moment.

I'm a bitter ex alonso owner, bought just as he was dropped, and provided a succession of lows, and not sure ill go back there!
But outside of gw1, he wasn't actually that great? 1 assist in 5, isn't spectacular, but guess still good value for 5.6.
