So, how does it work?

We’ve covered the essentials in our beginner’s guide but for some expert strategy tips, we’ve enlisted the help of FanTeam expert and Pro Pundit Josh Wooldridge. He won £200,000 in the 2020/21 season-long game and continues to rake in the money this season, so he’s ideally placed to give us some advice.

    Had 2 fts and nowhere to use them.. So I did Toney to Dennis on Friday night just to free up funds and benched Dennis and played Antonio. Well chuffed with that move since I would ve wasted my transfer otherwise. Pure luck though lol

          I couldnt be any less interested in price rises tbh. It just simply means that ownership of your players is increasing making any points from them less and less relevant.

              I can tell you that having played the game for 16yrs team value is of very limited importance. If you cant afford a player, more often than not there is a good alternative.

            That's a silly way of thinking.

            Sell value from assets means you have more options if you have higher team value. You want your bench to do well. I would rather Livra keep hauling and go up in price rather than getting 0s or 1s and dropping. When I eventually decide to get rid I'll have more money 🙂

      I think the pattern is clear with the City mids. Each have their purple patch for 2-3 weeks, mass buys and then they get rotated or another one takes the fore.

      Forres --> Foden --> Bernardo.

      Chasing the points doesnt work. My money is on Grealish next. He should have had a hat trick against Watford and Pep has told him to justify his price tag. Stats are there.

        When Torres played, Foden wasn't available, iirc. Then, Foden was great and played 90' until he got injured. Bernardo was by far the best City player this season, he now added the end product to it. I don't think it's chasing points going after either of them, and I would gladly go for them instead of Grealish. He still seems like he hasn't bedded into the team yet.

          Ive heard this argument before... which is my point.

          They just have too many good players that each has their moment to shine. Its not Liverpool where everyone gets funnelled in to 3 obvious options.

            Tbh, they don't have. Grealish looks more like a miss than a hit. KDB completely out of shape because lack of rhythm and injuries. Sterling and Mahrez out of favor. Sterling has been decent recently, for a change from being awful, but is that enough, and is he going to play mainly on the right, competing with Jesus?

            Foden and Bernardo are at the moment level above other City options, that could change, but I wouldn't bet on that at this point.

        I get what you mean about chasing points but right now Silva is registering good stats, is delivering FPL points and is ths most nailed City mid. I think Pep views him and Cancelo as his most important players so Silva should be a solid long term pick.

        For me its a case of which other City mid I pick to go alongside him. It could well be Grealish who is the next one to explode but he hasnt really delivered and has played quite a number of games. I dont see him continuing playing in that front central role. His poor finishing yesterday demonstrated that its not his position.

          His stats are not actually that good tbh for Silva. He's been lucky FPL wise for sure.

          I got Bilva 2 weeks back and I'm not hating the decision!
          I think though with City you have to make your selection and stick with it - otherwise you'll be playing Pep Roulette every week and the house will always win there!

    Toney absence re-inforcing that Covid hasnt gone away and with City rotation and fixtures coming thick and fast this is more proof that we need a good squad with a good bench.

        A, C or if you are feeling brave, find a bit extra for Sancho

        a) feels like chasing, but he's a good option for sure
        b) not for me
        c) great fixtures and stats and cheapest
        d) good short term, but at some point chelseas fixtures hit a wall and then blanks. im not i want 3 at that stage. later in the season i think he'll be good option.

                  I dont think it was a mistake - thats hindsight thinking.

                  The fixture based plan was always Lukaku and moving on to Ronaldo.
                  Lukaku got injured and Kane had decent fixtures up until the intended switch.

                  It didnt work out, but that doesnt mean it was a bad decision.

            I’ve never wanted to sell a player more. I was OR 15k a few weeks ago, sold Ronaldo for Kane. That decision has contributed heavily to my four consecutive red arrows since.
