Brentford v Man Utd team news: Ronaldo starts

Rounding off the day’s Premier League action is Brentford v Manchester United, which gets underway at 17:30 BST.

It’s a game that has relatively little riding on it from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective: Marcus Rashford is the most-selected player in this fixture with a 10.1% ownership, which about sums it up.

As for the team news, Cristiano Ronaldo is recalled to make his first start of the season in Erik ten Hag’s only change.

Scott McTominay is the player to make way.

Thomas Frank goes to a wing-back system for the visit of the Red Devils, making two changes from the side that drew 2-2 with Leicester City last week.

Mads Roerslev and £4.5m FPL midfielder Josh Dasilva are promoted to the starting XI as Vitaly Janelt and Yoane Wissa drop out.

    Another Dutch manager coming into the PL who doesn't get it.

    If you're going to copy Man City and Liverpool at least get it right:

    - Buy tall CBs (guys who are at last 6'3")
    - Buy players with PL experience who have performed well
    - If you can't find the players with PL experience, buy the better technical performers who are Brazilian or Portuguese and have CL experience
    - Make sure you have lungpower in midfield. Guys who can run all day

    Ten Hag doing it all wrong. Buying a CB who is under 6ft. Buying players from the Dutch league (and wants to go for more like De Jong and Ziyech). Hasn't got one lung-busting runner in midfield.

    Man Utd need to be careful. Ten Hag could screw them up for a long time.

        A manager has to work with some of what he has got. You can't just buy a whole new first XI. Ten Hag could have dropped the defensive line deeper so that they don't get caught out in defence as much. He could have played a more defensive 3 in midfield to give greater protection.

        Ten Hag has failed on both counts. Hasn't got the best out of his existing players and has signed duds.

    Dasilva will largely be a bench player. Opens my team up to 3 strikers if Darwin becomes the go to 3rd pool player. And yes, I knew Mahrez was a massive punt going into it!
