Gameweek 4 is nearly with us, so it’s time to hear who Fantasy Football Scout contributors Sam, Neale, Tom and Az individually think are the best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) picks for the upcoming round.

Everything you ever wanted to know about the FPL Bonus Point System - part one

In this series, our four resident writers each propose an 18-man squad of Fantasy players with the focus solely on the upcoming Gameweek.

Their selections serve as a long list for the Scout Picks, as the players nominated will then be narrowed down to a squad of 15 (with the starting XI not exceeding a total cost of £83.0m) for our final weekly selection ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

Each writer must meet the following requirements:

  • At least one sub-£5.0m goalkeeper
  • At least one sub-£5.0m defender
  • At least one sub-£6.0m midfielder
  • At least one sub-£7.0m forward
  • No more than three players from the same club

      Any reason why you’re selling Foden before Palace at home?
      I actually think Leeds will struggle this week and Foden must be heavily favoured by the bookies to score over Rodrigo/Harrison.

      Definitely moved away from big at the back, that’s for sure.
      I think it’s decent, but there’s a few questionable picks in there.
      Sanchez is better than Raya, for one. Rashford could lose his place if Utd get Anthony - I’d rather drop that spot to a 4.5 and try to get Toney instead

        I've been struggling to pick between Sanchez and Raya. The fixtures are great for both Brighton and Brentford. Do you just rate Sanchez more highly, or better defence, team, etc?

        I'm going to give Rashford the Southampton and Leicester games to impress. There are plenty of alternatives, if not. Antony is a left footed right winger, btw.

              That's fair as a long term pick, but surely you'd rather have your goalie playing Everton instead of Leeds? Brighton are good but they aren't that much better than Brentford that you'd start Sanchez over Raya every time

                I just said don't base pick on one GW and you bring up this GW. Besides that Raya just let in 3 against Fulham. I have Snachez and Rodrigo and expect Sanchez CS actually

          I just think that Brighton are a *miles* better team. Definitely a ‘top half’ team easily.

          Also, with Rashford. It won’t be Anthony that directly takes his spot, it will be Sancho who gets moved from the right to the left.

          Hmm. How about Jesus, Toney and Alvarez with a switch to Mitrovic in mind later? Or forget trying to be clever and go say Jesus, Kane and Toney until after CL fixtures, before getting Haaland back in.

            I prefer Kane/Haaland slot and Salah or KDB not both but maybe I'm proved wrong next few weeks. Haaland 1pt less than KDB. I think he covers him

              With City drawing Dortmund and having an able back-up in Alvarez, I'm not sure Haaland gets as many minutes as KdB in the PL. Clearly, KdB could be rotated also, but I'm as the engine room, I'm hoping it's reduced minutes as opposed to reduced starts.

              I actually prefer KdB over Salah right now due to the lack of creativity in Liverpool's midfield. I'm only keeping Salah because he should start every game.

              Not convinced on Toney, but he and Brentford have started the season well.

              I usually have very clear ideas on what to do with an early wildcard but I'm a mess this season! Appreciate you mulling things over with me.

      I’d play Ramshackle personally.
      Brentford not exactly been great at the back but Ars have a couple of cleanies already.

    Should I get rid of Maddison this week? Was going to save a transfer and do it next week in a combo move but now I don't know, with his potential injury. I wanted another week to evaluate Leeds/Zaha as well

    Obviously, the midfield is a horror show, but 1mil ain’t gunna solve the problem, I need more. Robbo is the obvious guy to sell to raise cash, but I don’t think it’s the right week to do that.
    And, I honestly can’t see a single move I want to do (Reed > Aaronsen will prejudice next weeks transfers).

    Alternatively I could go crazy and do Robbo, Bailey & Archer > Neco, Harrison & Toney (-4) and shake up my squad into a 4-3-3 and a fully playing bench (Neco, Andreas & Reed)

      It's a shame you're 0.1m away from Harrison. Keep an eye on Mattheus Nunes. Wolves next 3 look ok and he's only 5m, and technically very gifted.

    With Konate and Matip out for several weeks, anyone considering Joe Gomez at 4.5m. He's clearly not Trent, but Trent does need attacking returns to justify that extra 3m.

    Other ~4.5m are Saliba, any of the Brighton defence, Alt Nouri maybe. Any other recommendations?

      no idea, just looked at the Chelsea defense on fpl and they really are scraping the barrel with their cb's, not sure why TT just doesn't play Azpi rcb with James rwb at least until he gets more players in, James's talent is wasted at rcb imo

        I think it'd be harsh to bench White, good player and done well since his big money signing but he simply isn't a right back.
        I feel like it'd be "easier" for Arteta to drop Saliba assuming he sees Tomiy as his RB but it's difficult to say what happens.
        Nice problem for a manager to have I suppose.

          Compared to LEI, not really. Could easily be dropped if he can't improve. Need to see what the pressers tell, probably keeping atm.
