FPL Gameweek 12: Wednesday’s goals, assists, bonus and statistics

The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Wednesday’s matches.

As well as LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points from the day’s FPL action, we’re bringing you a selection of the Opta stats that arrive in our Premium Members Area almost immediately after full-time in each fixture.

Our usual Scout Notes article, which summarises more of the main FPL talking points, notable manager quotes and injury news in extra detail, will follow later.

BRIEF ROUND-UP

Amazon missed their expected delivery of goals as six clean sheets were banked across tonight’s fixtures.

Newcastle United were among the sides shutting out the opposition and are now joint-top for clean sheets (five) in 2022/23, as well as first for fewest goals conceded (nine). Kieran Trippier (£5.7m) took maximum bonus to move first in the FPL defenders’ points table, while Miguel Almiron‘s (£5.3m) scarcely believable form continued as he curled in his fifth goal of the season – that’s more than he has managed in any of his previous seasons with Newcastle, and we’re only in mid-October

An obdurate defence is not what a tired-looking Tottenham Hotspur need this weekend, as Harry Kane‘s (£11.5m) blank-less run finally ended at Old Trafford. A slowly improving Manchester United took all three points and since their season kickstarted in Gameweek 3, only Arsenal have registered more points and no-one has kept more clean sheets (four).

Rotation bit hard for Chelsea and Liverpool, with both managers making five changes apiece. The two sides could only muster one goal between them, a Darwin Nunez (£8.8m) header, and were indebted to their goalkeepers for their respective results: Alisson (£5.4m) saved a Jarrod Bowen (£8.2m) penalty, while the impressive Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.4m) was forced into five saves against Brentford.

Both Alisson and David Raya (£4.5m) have now banked back-to-back double-digit hauls.

And on a night of shut-outs, it was fitting that Southampton – the only club in the league who had conceded in every game before tonight – recorded their first clean sheet of the season.

Any advice on this wildcard team is very welcome!

    Kepa (Ward)
    Cancelo Trippier White (Dalot, Neco)
    Saka Foden Salah Martinelli (Andreas)
    Haaland Firmino Toney

I am a bit worried Firmino will be benched saturday and Darwin will play (given their minutes last night). Unfortunately, I cannot afford Darwin. I might swap Firmino for Mitro but i think Firmino his ceiling is higher and would not know where to spend the extra cash

I think so. Mount plays United while Foden can haul anytime and Saka has a good fixture and is on pens.

      ~260k.

Was 1.75 mil before WC in GW8 and been an ever-so-rare sustained rise each week since. Probably jinxed it now, but hey-ho.

Honestly Solanke deserves a fair bit of the credit!

      1.8M.

Salah captain and Martinelli to Sinisterra on GW9 WC were very costly decisions.

900k. Was 1.8m a few weeks ago and went to 450k but have been slowly slipping away each week. Hoping WC next week will help me climb a bit until the World Cup. Last season I was around 750k up to GW24 and then my WC helped set me up to finish about 90k so big jumps can be made. I should have finished higher too, was inside 70k with FH in hand in GW37 but I messed it up. Need a fair bit of luck though!

    Pope
    Cancelo - Trippier - Guehi
    Salah - Foden - Zaha - Rashford
    Haaland - Wilson - Mitro

    Iversen - Castagne - Andreas - Williams

Would like an Arsenal asset but could probably survive a week.

Need two transfers over two weeks before WC15, starting with one this week:

    Out:

    A) Trippier (tot, AVL)
    B) Cucurella (MUN, bha)
    C) Webster (bench, bench)*
    D) Mount (MUN, bha)
    E) Zaha (eve, SOU)

    In:

    A) Trent (nfo, LEE)
    B) Cancelo (BHA, lei)
    C) Foden (BHA, lei)
    D) Martinelli (sou, NFO)
    E) Saka (sou, NFO)

    * Bench A or B in GW13 and J. Gomez (LEE) in GW14

    Iversen (Ward)
    Trippier Cucurella Gomez (Guehi Webster)
    KDB Mount Zaha Odegaard (Andreas)
    Haaland Darwin Mitrovic

1FT. 3.7 ITB. Ideas for GW14 FT welcome as well 🙂
E.g. If I get Martinelli, I could get Son for Bournemouth away

Saka price rising fast according to fpl stats - wish people would wait until after game tomorrow to bring in! But if he does rise tonight I would be priced out so would you just make the move now and hope or wait and take a hit if does go up in price by selling Pope to cheaper goalie?

Same for Foden, I checked them both just a few hours ago and they were only around 35% and 50% I think, heck Foden wasn't even at 15% at about 10AM.

My current frontline is Solanke-Toney-Darwin (don’t ask) with 6.7 ITB.

What’s the best option here please?

    Solanke > Haaland (0.3 ITB)

    or

    Toney > Haaland, Trossard > Foden/Saka for a -4?

That’s tough. If funds no issue I would go with Saka. If Martinelli allows a significantly better upgrade elsewhere then him instead.

      B for now (immediate GW)
C best option till GW16/ long term by a slight margin

Depends on how much you have ITB, but ARS over MCI (due to fixtures) and in the exact order you have them listed.

      Plink, plink. My 2 cents.
