The ScoutCast – Episode 259 – Smooth

Just as we witnessed in Gameweek 31, the Free Hit chip does its thing, granting the ScoutCast crew and many in the Fantasy Football Scout community the smoothest of landings as we begin preparations for another Double Gameweek take-off.

Jonty, Andy and Az join me for the Gameweek 35 post-mortem, as, driven by your questions, we ponder whether this season’s debut chip has rendered the blanks as the best opportunity for a rank hike.

However, this is no time to rest on our laurels, with another double-header looming. That fuels discussion on Manchester City, Spurs and even Swansea City’s players; assets at opposite ends of the Fantasy spectrum, united by the potential of two fixtures in Gameweek 37.

To invest in those spoils, we need to make sacrifices, so we assess the midfield makeweights and ponder if Marcos Alonso can finally shake Jonty’s curse, or whether we should all cash in on the Blues banned wing-back.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Walker. Think he may start all after the rest this week. Great fixtures for CS and good attacking potential.

Even if he gets rotated, it will probably be just for a game. 3 out of 4 with those fixtures is still good.

But Pep may give Danilo the remaining games so that he can get into Brazil's WC squad. Walker has been playing a lot this season

I don't think he makes the team. Anyway, he can play LB as well. Walker will want to play as well to be in some momentum before the friendlies start.

Even if Anfield Express tells us Salah doesnt start, surely Salah could still score more with a sub app (Stoke) & 2 games - Chelsea/Brighton than any MC/Spurs mid could in 4 games (with their own rotation risks)?

    1. WE GO FOR IT
      • 8 Years

He could. Everyone's getting him back for the Brighton game anyway. So it's just the 2 games to consider. Chelsea will be tough as they still have a chance for Top 4. They will be compact and play defensively so can't see him getting more than a goal. Of course, if anyone can prove me wrong, it's him.

I think he will be even more fired up v Chelsea, as Chelsea do need to win and the counter attack option will be on. Id assume Firmino and Mane (if fit) will play so it will be the power 3 up front. I think Salah could get a double digit haul vs Chelsea TBH.

He is certainly capable. But after a tough 2nd leg in Roma, the pool players won't certainly be at their best.

I got rid of Salah a few weeks ago when injured but watching a Liverpool game without him was too stressful!! The guy is so good, he’s not leaving my team for rest of the season. Could score 2 or 3 in any game

I agree Pat, he scored 2 v Stoke in a short time off bench last time too. Off the bench against tired legs I think he's even more of a threat.

    Morning.

I have Alonso, Bailly and Morgan in my defense. The other two defs are Tark and Lowton.

Do you think either or both of Bailly or Morgan should play?

Or do I have to make a defensive transfer here?

I’d really like to save the FT this week.

      Vards > Jesus or
      Mahrez > Sterling essentially...

I'd go Rahz, but Jesus probs more assured

Who's the best defender for the rest of the season up to 6.4m?

Can't be from Spurs or Man City

I'm currently on Smalling but is he more nailed than Jones?

If Smalling and Jones both start 36, I'll be looking at one for 37 to replace Injuredsen

Potentially good to save. Reluctant to bench Mili, and defensive switch is probably a priority if anything

0.4 ITB. Anything worth a hit?
Foster > Fabianski, Baines > Vertonghen or Walcott > Arnoutavic maybe or save it?

    Foster
    Lowton - Kompany - Baines
    Walcott - Lingard - Eriksen - Sterling
    Kane - Jesus - Barnes

    Elliot - Shaqiri - TAA - Alonso

    Good Morning guys...
Just a question regarding my defense:

    Monreal - Vertonghen - Tarkowski - Morgan - Alonso

And since Monreal and Morgan are doubts for this week along with Alonso's ban.
is it worth doing a defensive transfer or save my FT and hope for the good.

    Thanks
