Dugout Discussion – West Ham vs Man United

Double Gameweek 37 comes to a close at the London Stadium this evening, as West Ham entertain Manchester United at 7.45pm.

The visitors boast three of the top ten players for transfers in ahead of last Friday’s Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline.

Paul Pogba (147,000) was second only to Raheem Sterling in midfield, Chris Smalling (133,000) was the most bought defender, while over 68,000 turned to Marcus Rashford up front due to Romelu Lukaku’s ankle injury.

Unfortunately for Rashford’s owners, he drops to the bench as Jose Mourinho makes eight changes as a result of Friday’s 1-0 loss at Brighton. Pogba and Smalling, along with David De Gea, are the only players to retain their starts.

Drafted in by 15,000+, the fit-again Alexis Sanchez is back on the teamsheet tonight. Similar to Pogba, he had two double-figure hauls in his four appearances prior to Gameweek 37.

This evening’s line-up suggests that Sanchez could be handed a role up front, with Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw operating as wing-backs.

Meanwhile, De Gea – owned by over 45% – is the Red Devils’ most captained player, with over 61,000 handing him the armband.

For the Hammers, Marko Arnautovic (58,000+) was the main draw ahead of their two matches.

While the Austrian chipped in with an assist in the 2-0 win at Leicester, he was somewhat overshadowed by midfield differentials Joao Mario and Mark Noble. Both grabbed a goal apiece to tally 11 and 10 points respectively so far.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    22 points ahead in my ML, he's got TC left with Salah, Vardy, Jesus and Auba up front. I'm on Kane, Jesus, Sterling, Son. Should I get Salah for a hit? This is my team, 1 FT. 0.0 ITB:

    Lloris / Ryan
    Smalling / Alonso / Tarkowski / Lowton / Chilwell*
    Sterling / Son / Arnautovic / Willian / Gross
    Kane / Jesus / Barnes*

    A. Willian + Alonso > Salah + 3.8 DEF (-4)
    B. Willian + Jesus > Salah + 7.0 FWD (-4)
    C. Willian > Zaha / Ramsey.
    D. Something else?

    Thanks guys.

    Here we go!

    44 points behind in my ML, I know I wont be able to catch him but want to make it as close a run thing as I can. My OR is terrible so not worried about losing rank that way, happy to throw a hail mary and take a few hits.

    My team currently is as below, with my opponents further down, What do you suggest? I reckon trading out Lingard, Mahrez and Jesus? for Salah, Arnie and Zaha? Will Sane play this week?

    Fabianski - Schmeichel
    Vert - Naugton - Smalling - Cedric - Maguire
    Mahrez - Son - Sane - Gundogan - Lingard
    Austin - Kane - Jesus

    ------------------------------------------------------------
    De Gea - Foster
    Mustafi - Davies - Smalling - Monreal - Fernandez
    Kennedy - Sterling - Mahrez - Eriksen - Mili
    Jesus - Perez - Auba

    Even with DDG/Smalling clean sheets last night I only gained 3 pts on my rival who had Lingard/Ogbonna.

    My Team: 1 FT 0.3m ITB
    DDG Ryan
    Alonso Smalling Lowton Long Morgan
    KDB Son Sane Gudmundsson Willian
    Kane Vardy J.Ayew

    Rival's Team:
    Fabianski Ryan
    Kompany Mawson Ogbonna Simpson Chilwell
    Mahrez Son Sterling Lingard Kenedy
    Kane Jesus Aubameyang

    OR 4,961 but still 27 pts behind my rival.

    KDB --> Salah (c) with my FT seems like a no brainer as he would need to take a hit to get him. Should I

    A) Just bring in Salah and hope he explodes
    B) Vardy --> Giroud (-4)
    C) Willian --> Zaha (-4)
    D) Willian --> Arnie (-4)
    E) A combo of hits???
