Select few hoping for Morocco clean sheet

World Cup Fantasy managers are expecting another clean sheet for Morocco in their opening match against Iran.

No player in the 4pm fixture has more than five percent ownership on McDonald’s FIFA World Cup Fantasy but most of the niche interest is in the Atlas Lions’ back-line.

Morocco qualified for Russia without conceding a single goal in any of their six CAF Group C matches.

Since booking their place at the finals Herve Renard’s men have recorded another two clean sheets and have extended their unbeaten run to 18 matches.

So not surprisingly, the most owned player for Morocco vs Iran is Juventus centre-back and national captain Medhi Benatia (£5.0m), currently in five percent of squads.

Full-back Achraf Hakimi (£4.5m), of Real Madrid, is just behind him with four percent ownership.

Of the attacking players, Hakim Ziyech (£7.0m) tops the charts but even still is only in three percent of squads.

In the other dugout, Iran particularly disappointed in their warm-up matches, only finding a winner against lowly Lithuania in stoppage time earlier this month after suffering defeat to Turkey in May.

As you would expect, just two of their players have more than one percent ownership for Gameround 1, their easiest of the Group Stages with Spain and Portugal up next.

However, it would seem that those invested in midfielder Omid Ebrahimi (£4.5m) and substitute goalkeeper Rash Mazaheri (£4.0m) are attempting to save money rather than cover Iran.

    Only good thing about Cavani (C) blanking is I don't have to fret about moving the armband on. That and he played decent enough.

      Yeah he had three really good shots that usually might have resulted in a goal. Thankfully, can move the captain on and have options on the bench. Happy to keep Cavani for next week.

      Played well from a footballing perspective. But also concerning that he wasn't really in the box much, seemed more concerned about coming deep to get involved in the link up play and trying to play Suarez in on goal....no fantasy points for playing well.

        Definitely he won't play as a striker. There are some possibilities that he plays as a defensive midfielder. Because Shojaei is our attacking midfielder and in the media it was rumoured that Ansarifard will be DM !!!

    Frustrating with the muppets at Sun Dream Team - yet again they fail to have so many players on their list. This time it's El Kaabi, the guy who bangs the goals in for Morocco. Unbeaten in qualifying, yet they only have 5 players from the entire squad on their player list.

      Although with the budget, and player prices, it seems really easy to have a great team, so you don't really need to look for alternative options.

      I understand differentials are good to have, and I'm the last person to defend the sun, but I think the game is designed to be a little on the basic side, so easier for everyone to take part.

    Don't have any players today, but waiting to see what El Kaabi does today. Saw his performance vs Estonia a few days ago, the entire team played very well, I felt, and El Kaabi was key. Belhanda also scored in that game, so interesting too see if he gets the momentum going

        I liked the look of pairs in matches 2 & 3 more than 1 & 2. Yes, there are sometimes players rested for 3rd games, but not always easy to predict.

    I'm not complaining, but does anyone know why El-Kajoui plays?

    The guy with #1 jersey Bono played all season for Girona, was excellent in the goal - and they ended 10th in La Liga.

    El-Kajoui, part of Numancia, didn't get a single game in La Liga 2, and made two major mistakes in the three Copa games he played.

    Just confused, that's all!

    Anybody else having issues with the fifa app ? Had a saudi player as captain yesterday then changed captain to Suarez last night.Ive logged on today and the Saudi player is still captain though when i click on manage team it shows Suarez as captain for Uraguays next game against Saudi Arabia ! Can anybody explain ??
