Dugout Discussion

Aguero absent from squad as Man City host Bournemouth

Pep Guardiola has left Sergio Aguero (£11.5m) out of Manchester City’s matchday squad to face Bournemouth entirely.

That is because he has a minor injury that he does not want to risk worsening.

“He has a muscular disturbance. He is not I believe fit. It would be risky (to play him) the doctors and physios tell me. We don’t want to take that risk.” – Pep Guardiola

It is a no-show that will heavily effect the outcome of Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 14 with the Argentinian striker a strong captain candidate.

Gabriel Jesus (£10.1m) starts up front in his place while Raheem Sterling (£11.4m) keeps his place in the starting XI.

David Silva (£8.7m) left on the bench as Fernandinho (£5.4m), Ilkay Gundogan (£5.4m) and Bernardo Silva (£7.5m) all started in midfield, with Leroy Sané (£9.3m) operating on the left.

Meanwhile, John Stones (£5.3m) missed out at the expense of Nicolas Otamendi (£6.1m) again and Oleksandr Zinchenko (£4.8m) started at left-back in place of Fabian Delph (£5.3m).

Opponents Bournemouth dropped a surprise of their own with David Brooks (£5.1m) left on the bench.

Crystal Palace named an unchanged side from the one that drew 0-0 at Manchester United while Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£5.9m) returned to the Burnley line-up and James Tarkowski (£4.7m) is back from injury on the bench.

Huddersfield lined-up in their favoured 3-5-1-1 formation while Brighton have left Glenn Murray (£6.7m) on the bench.

Jamie Vardy (£8.9m) returns to the Leicester City side while James Maddison (£6.8m) keeps his place despite being sent off in Gameweek 13. His one-match suspension was served in the League Cup midweek.

Isaac Success (£4.6m) is back in the Watford line-up with Troy Deeney (£5.9m) going back to the bench. The Nigerian international starts up front with Gerard Deulofeu (£5.4m) again.

“Today we feel Isaac and Gerard in the beginning may be better but we know Troy and Andre will be ready if we need them.” – Javi Gracia

Jose Holebas (£4.7m) also comes back in after missing Gameweek 13 with a calf injury.

Finally, Jamaal Lascelles (£4.7m) is fit enough for a return only to the Newcastle bench, while Javier Manquillo (£4.4m) starts in place of Ciaran Clark (£4.5m), who is also among the substitutes.

Their opponents West Ham line-up with both Marko Arnautovic (£7.1m) and Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (£6.2m) as well as Andy Carroll (£5.4m) back on the bench.

Robert Snodgrass (£5.3m) makes an immediate return from suspension but Grady Diangana (£4.5m) is not even in the matchday squad.

I really cant believe anyone here is saying that isnt Sane assist
    Owner or not
He was 1on1 with Begovic and touched the ball
    Bilva scored from rebound
How the f could they know what was his intention if he was few cms infront of Begovic
That was always an assist in fantasy terms
    Just be faking consistent

Identical to the Sanchez non assist.

It is pretty simple. It is like a corner when the corner taker puts in the box then the defender heads it out and a player scores from that header - no assist is given.

Same principle applies here. Sane went to pass it (not shoot), the GK cleared it out and Bernardo scored from the clearance - no assist is given.

Sane didn't shoot. If he did he might have scored himself.

he was the only player infront of Begovic
when he touched the ball he was 5cm from him
How can you know what was his intention
If you can make any conclusion its that he was trying to shot

It's obvious. Look at his touch in slow motion. You should be having a go at Sane for not being selfish.

He didn't even pass it tbh, he took a touch. Could be deemed as a shot if anything as it looks like he's trying to just like it past Begovic to me, but if it's not a shot, he simply got dispossessed

He tried to flick it past the keeper at full stretch hence no back lift like on a normal shot.

Who was he passing to btw 😆

Why'd you shoot when a touch is all that needed for the goal?
We've seen rebound from tap ins and touches scored and awarded assists many times

Exactly. He was stretching to get a flick past the keeper. People saying he didn't shoot ignoring that there won't be a back lift to the short because its going past him

I thought the contention was whether he touched the ball not his intentions.

He didn't look like he touched it to me, granted I am relying solely on the video evidence of him not appearing to not touch the ball.

If he didnt touched it , ofcourse it isnt assist

Agreed. No way of saying what Sane's intention was. Begovic gets too close to see wether it was a pass, assist or what it was.

Even if no one was between Sane and the goal, that touch was so weak the ball would have stopped before it reached the goal. Not a shot.

"An assist is awarded whether the pass was intentional (that it actually creates the chance) or unintentional (that the player had to dribble the ball or an inadvertent touch or shot created the chance)"

Basically Sane touched it so it should be an assist according to the rules.

Never understood the jammy VC thing. You pick you VC for that reason.

I mean maybe if you C Bennett of wolves and they lost 2-1 it’s almost jammy. Even then, not really.

99% of “jammy points comments” are just people being jealous. You a VC for a reason. You pick your bench players & order for a reason.

Only actual jammy points in the game are a goal from a deflection, or a CS because of a goal being ruled incorrectly offside etc.
