How Scout Membership can help Fantasy managers in 2019/20

Full-season Fantasy Football Scout subscriptions are still available for £17.50 – that’s the equivalent of less than 39p a week.

Over the years we have added to the benefits that our Members enjoy and we will be re-investing back into the site to enhance it further in 2019/20.

The most recent addition was the new Flat-Track Bully tool, which allows Members to conduct research in greater detail.

Using this new feature (pictured below) you can exclude/include certain teams (i.e. the ‘big six’) when scrolling through the various tabs in our Player Stats section.

This will help you identify players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition and even those who thrive against the top teams like Raúl Jiménez did in 2018/19.

We also recently put a call out for web developers and we have a number of other site improvements in the pipeline that will hopefully help our subscribers even more.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

In 2018/19 we published more Members’ articles than ever before and there will be at least 150 such pieces in the 2019/20 campaign.

We also introduced Members-only comments and Hot Topics to allow for detailed discussions of content behind the pay-wall.

Our Projections and Rate My Team tools (below) have both been tweaked, with RMT’s Professor – aka Chris Atkinson – elaborating on the changes in a recent Hot Topic.

Reigning Fantasy Premier League champion Adam Levy is a paid-up Member of our site and he discussed what tools of ours he finds most useful in a recent interview.

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members’ League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our Members’ League and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

We are hugely grateful to those who show their support by signing up as a Member each season. This continues to enable us to maintain the site, grow the Fantasy Football Scout team and develop more ideas.

Here are just some of the features you can enjoy as a subscriber:

Head-to-Head Comparisons

Compare both teams and players head to head.

Match Analysis

Analysis of every Premier League match (going back to 2011/12!), together with charts which plot average positions and our collection of heatmaps for touches, shots, chances created among other statistics.

Custom Stats Tables

Members can also create custom tables based on the data and share them with other subscribers (an example from last season is shown above).

Perhaps the most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table, which looks to predict which underperforming assets will find the net next.

Customisable Season Ticker

Sort by fixture difficulty and find out which teams’ matches rotate well using our customisable Season Ticker.

Be sure to check out all the other benefits of signing up as a member here. A full FAQ on our Members’ Area is also available here.

Played 500 min less than Deeney last season, scored 1 more goal than him. Also lower yellow or red card risk with Deulofeu.

Salah will get his points, but they come in more steadily over the season where guys like Kane, Aguero and Sterling are more explosive.

Kane severely underrated as an FPL asset.

          Oh just saw this now.
          It is -
          4-3-3

          Ryan (button)

          VVD-Robertson-TAA-Coleman-(Azpileceuta)

          Fraser-Sigurdsson-KDB-(Dendocker-Trybull)

          Wilson-King-Kane

Plan is to phase in more chelsea maybe Burnle leicester after a few weeks for the Bornmouth lads.
Will also move out VVD gw3 for whoever is looking like a value pick with good fixtures.
Trying to maximise the first few gameweeks and hopefully other players who are going sterling/salah.
Hinges on lIverpool clean sheets, Bournmouth doing well in the first two and Kane starting well

    Morning doubts:

    What's better -->
    A) Sterling, Wilson, Zaha (or other 7mil) vs
    B) BSilva, Kane( or Aubameyang), Siggy (or other 8 mil).

Is it worth having Sterling so early? We can even play Aguero instead if we go for Bernardo.

In an attacking side, he's basically an OOP striker, extra points for a goal and clean sheet. Think this season's King or Jota.

I’d go for another keeper instead of Pope (even in 4.5 bracket) because of rotation risk and bad starting fixtures but otherwise it looks good.

I submitted time ago the question about KDB+Laporte (A) vs Sterling+Norwood (B), and someone made me think saying that A brings more points than B, but B has "captain points" hidden inside.
I had Ederson in my very first draft, went Pickford for a while, then opted to Lloris because of consistency, clean sheets and save points (average 140 pts in last 3 seasons)

As 343s go it's not bad. Maybe a bit inflexible at the back if Digne is outperforming Coleman or Zinchenko gets dropped and you want Laporte.

Only one pool defender likely to hurt every time they get a clean sheet

One way to build your team is to look from GW2 set of fixtures. It's easy to get caught up in GW1, but the game is beyond that.

West Ham for example, have a wonderful set of fixtures. The likes Fabianski, Diop, Anderson and Haller are as good picks as the Bournemouth guys, if not better imo.

I recommend building for GW1 and 2 then WC GW3 with the huge fixture swing so you aren’t Blinded by fixtures at all and have players so much better than the template picks, also knowing about form and naildness

Perez will prove to be good value given his price and positioning, but maybe when the fixtures ease up a bit. FPL is all about timing, not sure getting Perez from the off is the best move. You can get him at any point really.

As for Vardy, he's an exception. He's a proven FPL entity and in particular against tough opponents. I definitely see the logic in that pick.

The problem is Wilson and Fraser are the head of BOU attack and will be involved in almost all of their goals.

West ham are diabolical when in comes to defence and Haller is unproven/untested.

This Mendy injury really looks to be a bit of a game changer

5.5 for a nailed (?) City LB seems nearly too good to be true

24.0 for Laporte, Zinky, Sterling appears to be quite reasonable

27.0 for KDB, Zinky, Sterling similarly reasonable

    21.5 for Laporte, Zinky, KDB

Whichever way you cut it, a treble City is eminently feasible

    1. IRBOX âš½

Now that’s 21.0 that is going a seriously long way

Wouldn’t be for me personally as Sterling puts the absolute fear of God into me

But superb value there - only wrinkle might be the exit strategy from Zinky if/when he did get dropped but that might not come for a long time the way Things are shaping up

It's a good question because that 'Alonso of old' the is the one that used to line up alongside Frank. However, he is older and he doesn't have Hazard to link up down the left any more, so my feeling is probably not. Certainly not for 6.5 anyway.

I don't watch enough Chelsea to know if he's past it.
It's more that he would get into mental positions for a full back which make him appealing. A full back popping up on the penalty spot means he would get tap ins,

Getting more and more keen on a GW1 Bench Boost to hit the ground running. I always play my Wildcard early anyway so it won't bother me to pull the trigger in GW3 for the immediate fixture swing. That said I won't rule out doing a -4 mini WC in GW3 to get back on track and save the WC. But I just love the idea of starting the season with a bang. You can make a seriously good team for GW1, depending on last minute news on who is in and who is out.

In a way it's hard to say what the true 'bench' would be, because if I'm doing it's Salah (C) then spread the funds all over the park. No real weaknesses. But on current draft something like Gunn, Brooks, Davies (if Rose leaves), Zinchenko.

    2. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
      • 14 Years

Maybe that’s how bench boost was “meant” to be used -lots mentioned having success with that approach last year

Then an early WC to tidy things up & get all the bandwagons

I could never do it personally though, I like a minimalist bench GW1 & build one when it come to WC time

It's a bit risky, of course, and it's not 'easy' so it wouldn't suit a safe and solid management style that's for sure. But I like making a lot of transfers, playing the fixtures extremely hard and essentially focusing on the next 2 gameweeks and nothing more. Points, points, points at all times and worry about other issues as and when they arise.

I also think FPL is a frontrunner's game. By a double gameweek in GW33/34 or whatever your season is very much defined. For some the season is well and truly over by then. Yes it's nice to have the chips up your sleeve at that time, but it's also huge to jump into the season with a big GW1 score and early WC if you can hit the right players.

There's a lot to be said for starting well and 'spending' some of your points to target players with the best fixtures as you go.

A GW1 BB has enormous potential. I'm still not 100% though.

I'm a "BB in GW1" fan and went with that strategy last year but this year I cant feel it.

Player's price is an issue. Tried to make a BB draft today as well but cant get a decent BB squad. Lack of cheap options is an issue.

        Guita, Ryan
Van Dijk, Digne, Duffy, 4.5, 4.5
        Salah, Richarlison, Tielmens, Perez, Gross
        Kane, King, Deu

This is the best I can come up with but midfield looks shaky...

I don't love that to be honest. I wouldn't be playing the BB on that, too many 4.5m defenders and players without super plum fixtures. I'm looking at something more like going massively all in on Liverpool, Spurs and Bournemouth and spreading the funds across the whole 15.

            Pope - Gunn
            Zinchenko - Digne - TAA - Davie - KWP
            Salah - Fraser - Brooks - Bilva - Moura
            Wilson - Deulofeu - Origi

Triple Pool, triple Spurs, triple Bournemouth, double Man City, and Watford attack at home to Brighton. It's basically a free hit style team that can also become a strong starting 11 for GW2.

Anyone see anything wrong with this? It’s so template but I think it’s flexible & solid for the first 6-8 game weeks. Ideally I’d like Vardy but you can’t have them all I’m afraid. Also not that keen on Deulofeu but for the first few opening games I think he’s currently the best mid/budget option:

    Burnley Woodman

    TAA VVD Digne Zinchenko Kelly

    Salah Sterling Siggy Groß Dendoncker

    Wilson Deulofeu

    Thoughts on this Salah-less 3-4-3?

    Pope (4.0)
    TAA VVD Digne (4.0, 4.0)
    Sterling KDB Siggy Fraser (Donkey)
    Vardy Wilson Origi

One option is to downgrade Siggy to Moura and upgrade a 4,0 def.

Very good- perhaps Fraser over Perez first couple of games. Downside is weak bench

It’s a possibility- weak bench issue as you said.
