Brooks returns as Bournemouth host Palace in late kick-off

Saturday evening’s late game is all about differentials as Bournemouth host Crystal Palace.

It marks a first Premier League start of the season for David Brooks (£6.2m) who has missed all of the campaign thus far following a long-term injury in the summer of 2019.

Owned by 0.1% of Fantasy managers worldwide, there is already intrigue in whether or not the Welsh international can be a hidden gem once again after he produced a 123-point season in 2019/20.

The rest of the Bournemouth team is similarly devoid of Fantasy investment, Diego Rico (£4.2m) the joint-most popular asset on 8.1% ownership, although the left-back finds himself on the bench.

Jack Simpson (£3.9m) is in the same proportion of squads but is absent from the matchday squad entirely.

Outside of that, 3.7% will be hoping Aaron Ramsdale (£4.5m) can keep a clean sheet and 4.6% are still sitting on Callum Wilson (£7.4m).

Meanwhile, the absence of the 19%-owned Martin Kelly (£4.1m) reduces the interest in Crystal Palace assets considerably.

However, there will be keen eyes on Jordan Ayew (£5.2m) and Wilfried Zaha (£6.7m), sat in 8.8% and 9% of squads respectively.

Bournemouth XI (4-4-2): Ramsdale; A Smith, Aké, S Cook, Stacey; Brooks, Lerma, L Cook, H Wilson; J King, C Wilson.

Crystal Palace XI (4-4-2): Guaita; van Aanholt, Cahill, Dann, J Ward; Zaha, Milivojevic, Kouyaté, McArthur; Benteke, Ayew.

Picking a wc team seems pretty easy, but I’m trying to pick one which is different from my ML rival (he has a 60 point lead).

This is the team I would definitely go for

    Pope
    Taa, Doherty, Maguire
    KDB, Mane, Son, Bruno
    DCL, Jimi, Rashford

Now to pick a team without Pope, taa, Doherty, Bruno, rashford, DCL, jimi

Auba got to go. Best replacement clearly Jiminez? Also need Bruno, could do Auba + Barnes or Traore > Jiminez and Bruno -4

Any input is would be appreciated, mates:)

    Pope, Button
    TAA, Maguire, Fernandez, Saiss, Taylor
    Salah, KDB, Son, Bruno, Hayden
    Rash, Jimi, DCL

    Maguire Saiss to Doherty Holgate?

It's a very good 11 but I would want at least one cheap playing defender as a backup.

      • 4 Years

You are probably right, but with 5 subs and barring no injuries, who in this 11 do you think might not get at least minutes?

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

My main fear is a player gets a positive test and a team misses a week. A playing sub might be needed after the deadline

        1. CheesyZoot
          • 4 Years
          3 years, 10 months ago

          That's a good point which I hadn't thought about.

Only issue is, I cant downgrade Mane or KDB as need city and Pool cover.

Going without TAA might be suicide and don't see a diff option to Pope.

DCL seems to be the cheapest budget ST I can afford and going without Jimi after today could be a rank killer.

Really not sure where to find the money!

            • 9 Years

Consider going all in on Martinez if you're tight on cash rather than Pope. Mendy, Reece or Alonso are interesting options instead of TA/Maguire.

Downgrading Barnes to Saka (who plays an incentive less Norwich next) could also free up some money for the bench.

            1. CheesyZoot
              • 4 Years
              3 years, 10 months ago

I think Martinez would be the best option to free up funds to be honest.

Not sold on Mendy's fixtures with Chelsea and Liverpool in quick succession but he is probably one to look at in a few weeks if he stays fit.

Had Saka this week on BB and he has done me well, seems to have his minutes nailed too... definitely frees up funds instead of Barnes, just worried Barnes could haul

    4. MGMT
      • 11 Years

Def: 8.5/10 (Maybe switch Maguire for WanB, almost same amount of points with 300 less minutes played)

Mid: 9.5/10 (Top Midfield, maaaaaybe switch Barnes... Doesnt look appealing anymore.

      Fwd 7/10

      1. CheesyZoot
        • 4 Years
        3 years, 10 months ago

What you think of Barnes down to Saka? Saka seems to be getting minutes and Arsenal's next couple fixtures look good (even Arsenal are useless).

That move would give me an extra 1.5.

With that extra cash, where do you see the forward line improving? 5.7 would be the budget.

Ayew at 5.2 seems to be the only option off the top of my head

        1. CheesyZoot
          • 4 Years

So having a look, just doing Barnes > Saka allows me to have a bench of:

          Lascelles, Ayew, Greenwood.

Worth it instead of having 0 playing bench players?

            Lascells, Ayew, 3.9

Have to say having no wildcard waiting in the wings was the best thing for me this week. Forced me to consider more single-gameweekers knowing I couldn't just ditch them on wildcard, and would need them long-term.

Played bench boost with a hybrid team including 8 DGWers and the likes of Fernandes, Doherty, Jimenez, Trent(?), Lascelles(?)...

106 so far with 9 players to go.

Yeah having DGW players from Arsenal and Villa hasn't worked out. Triple Sheffield Utd defence and Triple City attack would have been enough. Lots of good SGW punishing sellers.

Other than O'Connell being injured, Taylor an enabler, Hayden sucking and enabler and Grealish having tougher fixtures, like it? haha
