The Weekend Team News

It’s been a busy today for Premier League managers, with all 20 press conferences taking place ahead of Sunday’s finale. For Fantasy managers, Eden Hazard’s dental problems remain the biggest concern.

Hazard is a major doubt for Chelsea’s home encounter with Sunderland after picking up an infection after undergoing dental surgery in midweek. Petr Cech is also uncertain to feature, whilst Cesc Fabregas is suspended for the Blues. Mourinho went on to discuss Hazard’s situation:

“He had dental surgery, on three teeth. But now there is infection and he’s in a bit of trouble. He didn’t train today. I hope he can play. But I would never have allowed him to have the surgery if I thought this would happen. His mouth is in trouble.”

Danny Welbeck remains sidelined for the Gunners home clash against West Brom, whilst Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mathieu Debuchy are back in training but will be short of match fitness. Arsene Wenger has confirmed he might make “one or two changes” but reckons the XI will be similar to the one that started against Sunderland in midweek.

Antolin Alcaraz misses out for Everton’s home encounter against Spurs, whilst Sylvain Distin will be assessed after picking up an illness.

Mario Balotelli is a doubt for Liverpool’s trip to Stoke. Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Raheem Sterling is available for selection in spite of his agent’s recent suggestions that the player is looking for the Anfield exit door.

Rob Green is set to miss QPR’s trip to Leicester after being forced off with concussion last weekend. Steven Caulker is sidelined with a broken hand, with boss Chris Ramsey revealing he could hand some youngster pitch time at the King Power.

James Collins has been ruled out of West Ham’s trip to Newcastle, though James Tomkins is back in the squad after recovering from a shoulder injury.

Vito Mannone is set to start between the posts for Sunderland’s trip to Chelsea after Costel Pantilimon was ruled out with a knee problem – presumably the after-effects of Wednesday’s collision with Jack Wilshere. Seb Larsson has recovered from his own midweek knock, whilst Danny Graham is rated doubtful due to an ankle injury.

Stephen Ireland is the only new injury concern for Stoke after picking up a back problem ahead of Liverpool’s visit. Mark Hughes has also stated that Asmir Begovic will earn a recall in goal having missed the last three outings.

Alan Pardew has confirmed Palace are “all fit and well” ahead of their home clash with Swansea. Julian Speroni will be rested on Sunday, though, with his testimonial set for next Tuesday.

Wayne Rooney returns for United’s trip to Hull, though David de Gea remains doubtful, with Victor Valdes on standby for his first start.

David Nugent remains sidelined with a calf complaint for Leicester’s home encounter with QPR. Nigel Pearson has confirmed the Foxes have no new injury concerns for the King Power clash.

Dusan Tadic, Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin have failed to recover fro m injury in time for Southampton’s trip to City.

Brad Friedel could be named in the Spurs squad for the final match of his career, with Michel Vorm rated a doubt due to illness. Emmanuel Adebayor has returned to Togo for family reasons, whilst full-back pair Kyle Walker and Ben Davies miss out once again.

John Carver has hinted he’s considering starting Papiss Cisse for Newcastle’s vital home clash with West Ham. Siem de Jong has stepped up his recovery and could make the Magpies’ bench.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

I'd like to transfer in a defender and also replace Hazard if he's out as not convinced my Arsenal players will start.

I know he definitely needs wants to swap one of his strikers and is in the same position with Hazard, hence we suggested both taking a hit.

With one freebie, I am chasing opponents with 13 and 15 point leads. I need advice on the best transfers to make so that I can stand a chance of winning my minileage.
Opponent with 15 point lead (potentially no goalkeeper for him bt I fear Bolassie)
    Guzan (Speroni)
    Coleman Bertrand Hutton (Wisdom Azpili)
Sanchez Downing Carzola Bolassie (Jones of Burnley)
    Aguero Kane Benteke

The second opponent (potentially no keeper too but I fear Silva)
    De Gea (Jakupovic)
    Moreno Ivanovic Rose (Blacket Azpili)
Sanchez Henderson Cazorla Silva (Cant recall 5th mid)
    Austin Kane Giroud

    My team is
    Schmeichel (Pants)
    Bellerin Ivan PVA (Yun Upson)
    Sanchez Coutinho Gerrard Mahrez Hazard
    Aguero Giroud (Defoe)
I heard Terry wants to break some goalscoring record so by default I will get him. I am now looking for an 8.8 midfielder who will score the most goals. I am thinking of Mata as Man U would want to take their chances for an automatic champions league qualification. I fear Arsenal benching players.
Choose the best course of action (All except E are for -4)
    A. Upson and Hazard>Terry and Mata
    B. Upson and Hazard> Terry and Bolassie
    C. Upson and Hazard> Morgan/Schlupp and Silva/Mata/Bolassie
    D. Hazard and Defoe> Costa and Bolassie (I will play PVA and potentially Yun)
    E. Hazard > Silva (I will play PVA and potentially Yun
    F. Other transfer (Specify)

Hi guys, first post (on the last game as well!). I was going to do Haz to Silva/Yaya. However my two keepers are Ospina and Green. Looks like Green has been ruled out and I'm worried Ospina might be injured. So my options are:

    A) Haz > Silva/Yaya
    B) Green > Kasper
    C) Both

I'm leading my ML by 50 points, and I really want to win as I have never won it before. So a -4 hit is probably daft, but I usually do the daft thing. Any thoughts?

    1. Larry Legend

*sorry worried Ospina will be rested

Also if I do C, I could bring in a more expensive keeper (Cech?) rather than Kasper.

Just do A. Worse case, you would be without a Keeper. A -4pt hit for a keeper is basically +2 pts except you are expecting several save pts and a highly unlikely pen save.

    Help is needed please

    My team:
    Schmeichel - Krul

    Cazorla - Sanchez - Ozil - Albrighton - Cambiasso
    Kane - Agúero - Wickham

    3rd Place Team
    Pantilimon - Hamer
    Ivanovic - Hutton - Bellerin - Wilson - Schlupp
    Hendo - Coutinho - Hazard - Sanchez - Gomez
    Defoe - Wickham - Giroud

Can I afford to take to do Cazorla > Silva and Ozil > Willian for - 4 or should I just do Cazorla > Silva to consolidate my lead

Do West Brom have a shout of getting a cleanie at Arsenal what with the FA Cup final in mind?

Worth starting Dawson and using my transfer to ditch Eriksen or should I sell Toby and bench Dawson?

Depends on OR and ML. As much as B seems more logical, I would probably do A due to Kane's high ownership.

Id consider Young over Mata. Id leave Kane as I can see goals in the spurs everton game

Crystal Palace is the only team I haven't owned a player from this season. Hmm, should I make it a full house and get one in for this week?

Has anyone else not owned a player from a particular team all season?

Yup, never owned a Stoke player this season.

Would someone please explain why are people bringing in Costa? Out of form and will probably try not to get injured - probably will avoid too many dangerous situations...

You usually don't injure your foot when you use it to kick a ball into the goal.

I know it sounds funny, but I guess you know what I was trying to say.

        Still no logical answer...

Well the logical answer is this ; how can you say he is out of form? Was injured for weeks and now is back. Got 1 hour plus in the last game to build up match fitness.
Pretty certain starter against a safe Sunderland.
Chelsea bound to try and put on an attacking party for the title celebration.
Costa is the 2nd best striker in the league.
          I smell double digit haul.

This sounds OK but I doubt double digit haul. 🙂

I think people instantly gravitate to strikers with pedigree and o.k fixture irrelevant of form and this is especially true for GW38.

      1. sunderland without cattermole/proper cdm and nothing to play for
      2. Costa is main attacking outlet (with hazard out)
      3. Someone need something like a 17 pointer 😉 from an unusual source
