Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 7

Raheem Sterling gives his 27% Fantasy Premier League owners cause for concern after withdrawing from England duties. Jurgen Klopp has worries over a trio of Liverpool regulars, while Southampton and Stoke’s right-backs are also injury doubts.

Raheem Sterling

Sterling was forced to withdraw from the England squad due to a calf injury, but initial reports suggest the Man City winger should be fit to face Everton after the international break.

The news should come as a relief to Sterling’s 27.1% Fantasy Premier League (FPL) ownership, given the impressive production of the 21-year-old so far this season.

Certainly, with Kevin De Bruyne unlikely to be fit in time, Pep Guardiola will be desperate for Sterling to be in contention for the Toffees’ clash – the winger has racked up 33 points in three Etihad outings so far.

Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne

Adam Lallana was forced off with a groin injury 22 minutes into Liverpool’s 2-1 win at Swansea last weekend and was subsequently ruled out of the England squad.

Dejan Lovren, meanwhile, also suffered a groin problem during the final stages of Saturday’s match. But speaking to the club’s official website about both injuries, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke positively about the pair’s chances of being fit to start against Man United in 13 days time:

“Dejan was one of the last moments of the game. [It is a] groin [injury] for both, hopefully not that serious. Adam felt it, tried it again, and it didn’t work. In this moment they have no chance for the national teams. But hopefully, 16 days should be enough to bring them back onto the pitch for the next game.”

Both player’s situations will need to be monitored over the next week, particularly in Lallana’s case given he was transferred in by over 185,000 FPL bosses before the Gameweek 7 trip to South Wales.

As for Nathaniel Clyne, the defender was made unavailable for England’s World Cup qualifiers due to a knee problem that he has reportedly been carrying for a number of weeks.

That news will be a concern for Clyne’s 9.9% ownership in FPL, while given the lack of options in the full-back positions at Anfield, Klopp will desperately hope the problem can continue to be managed over the coming weeks. The Reds boss could be forced to field Alberto Moreno on the left, switching James Milner over to the right if Clyne fails to recover in time for the upcoming clash with the Red Devils.

Cedric Soares

Southampton defender Cedric Soares was forced off with an ankle injury 27 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Leicester City, but it’s not thought to be a serious problem for the Portuguese international.

Cuco Martina replaced Soares at right-back for the Saints on Sunday and is the obvious back-up in the event the former Sporting Lisbon defender is ruled out for the home encounter against Burnley after the international break.

Jordan Pickford, Jan Kirchhoff

Pickford was withdrawn from the England under-21 squad due to a thigh problem, although the fact he could link up with the national squad later this week suggests we shouldn’t be overly concerned about his availability for the Gameweek 8 trip to Stoke.

Recent signing Mika will be on standby should Pickford be sidelined for the clash at the Bet365 Stadium in 11 days time.

The youngster has emerged as the budget keeper of choice in recent weeks after racking up at least two save points in four of his five appearances.

The situation is not so positive for Jan Kirchhoff, though, with the midfielder ruled out for six weeks after being stretchered off during Saturday’s 1-1 draw against West Brom due to a leg injury.

Sunderland manager David Moyes rued the fact he could be without Kirchhoff, Lee Cattermole, Adnan Januzaj and Steven Pienaar for the next few weeks:

“Not to have him, Steven Pienaar and Adnan Januzaj is massive because they help us play better and we are short in that area. They are big, big misses to this club… we lose a little bit of the steel and a little bit of the boys who have been here before while we’re looking to build a new team.”

The likes of Paddy McNair and Jack Rodwell could be in line for more playing time over the upcoming period then, with Didier Ndong appearing the first choice centre midfield player for the Black Cats.

McNair is classified as a defender and priced at just 4.4, although with Pickford offering even cheaper coverage of the Black Cats, his appeal remains limited.

Harry Arter

The Bournemouth midfielder suffered a hamstring injury during the first half of Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Watford, although he was able to complete the full 90 minutes for the Cherries.

It remains to be seen whether Arter links up with the Republic of Ireland squad, though, with the 26-year-old revealing he planned to undergo a scan to assess the severity of the problem:

“It was a little bit sore. I’ll probably have a scan on it on Monday, so fingers crossed it won’t be anything too serious. It was very sore in the second half, but I was able to get through the game. I just tried to grit my teeth and get through it. We’ll assess it now.”

The fact Arter was able to play through the problem would suggest he’s not in too much doubt for Bournemouth‘s next match, at home to Hull City, in 11 days time. But were he to be ruled out, it could open the door for Josh King to earn a recall, with Jack Wilshere perhaps moving into a slightly deeper midfield role.

King emerged from the bench to score for the second time in his last four appearances, while Junior Stanislas has also caught the eye with a goal and assist in four as the Cherries prepare to face Hull, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Stoke in the next five Gameweeks.

Victor Moses

The Nigerian was forced off in the closing stages of Chelsea’s 2-0 win at Hull after pulling his hamstring, and now appears a doubt for their home clash against Leicester City after the international break.

Moses is due to undergo more tests to try to assess the severity of the injury, but should he miss the match against the Foxes; Cesar Azpilicueta would likely shift over to right wing-back, providing John Terry recovers from an ankle injury to return to a central defensive role. Branislav Ivanovic provides another option for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

Wilfried Zaha

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha revealed he played through the pain barrier for the majority of Friday night’s 1-1 draw against Everton, after hurting his knee in a challenge with Everton defender Seamus Coleman:

“I picked it up after just five minutes into the game. I think it was Seamus Coleman that scraped up my knee, so I had to play through the whole game with it. I had to play through it. It was just a tackle but he went up my knee, and I got a cut on it. It happens.”

Zaha should be fine to face West Ham in Gameweek 8 then, coming up against a defence that has conceded 15 goals in their last five matches.

Danny Drinkwater

While Drinkwater completed the full 90 minutes in Leicester’s goalless draw against Southampton on Sunday, the midfielder was excluded from the England squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers due to a minor groin injury.

Once again, the problem for Drinkwater doesn’t appear to be a serious one, so it is expected he’ll be fit to line up against Chelsea in 11 days time.

Fernando Llorente, Jefferson Montero

Both players missed the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool with rib and ankle injuries respectively. Montero has been ruled out of Ecuador’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers though.

Little detail has been offered on the injuries, but they aren’t thought to be serious, so both players could be available for the trip to Arsenal in 11 days time.

The appointment of Bob Bradley makes the Swans’ starting XI difficult to anticipate, though Llorente may struggle to return to the starting line-up after club record signing Borja Baston was afforded his first start of the season last weekend. Montero, meanwhile, will be hoping to establish himself under the new manager after failing to start any of the first seven Gameweeks.

Isaac Success

Success suffered a knock in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, and has had to withdraw from the Nigeria squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifier, with the attacker reportedly struggling to walk.

His status will need monitoring then as we get closer to the Gameweek 8 fixture at Middlesbrough.

After emerging from the bench to score against the Cherries, Success will be pushing for a start, particularly if Walter Mazzarri continues with the 4-3-3 formation utilised last weekend.

Aaron Cresswell, Andy Carroll

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has been handed some positive news regarding Aaron Cresswell and Andy Carroll, with both players closing in on first-team returns.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Bilic revealed Cresswell was due to return to training with the first-team squad yesterday, while Carroll could re-join the group over the next week or so:

“Aaron Cresswell is starting to train with us on Monday and then during the international break we might have Carroll start to train with us.”

The return of Cresswell would be a huge boost for the Hammers, given the struggles they’ve had in the left-back position in his absence. West Ham travel to Crystal Palace in Gameweek 8, though until they demonstrate signs of improvement at the back, few will be willing to splash out 5.3 on Cresswell.

Glen Johnson

The Stoke City right-back withdrew from the England squad earlier today with a minor knee problem.

Reports in the local press indicate that Johnson is expected to be fit for the upcoming home meeting with Sunderland as the Potters look to build on their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. Phil Bardsley would be in line to deputise if Johnson misses out, though Erik Pieters – at 4.4 – looks the prime budget option for those willing to invest. It’s also worth noting that Geoff Cameron is also priced at 4.4 and has started the last two in central midfield.

    Confession time…
Seeing as it’s the break I thought it would be a good time to head to the FPL church and try and get my sins forgiven. Currently at 450k odd treading water thanks I feel to the following blunders:
    1) Too many punts and reliance on ‘penalty takers’ in GW1. I normally like to go on pre-season start security and form, so the likes of Routledge, Deulofeu, Tadic, Cazorla and Oscar started. The latter lot and Vardy were also in due to being on pens – and of course two pens that week were converted by Mahrez and Hazard! Plus Sanchez helping himself to one as well!

    2) Early panic WC after GW2. After second week with another 2m plus rank I pulled the trigger and then got a third 2m plus rank! Had greenies since but still feel I should have played this around now on the fixture swing.

    3) Bringing in injury prone players. Shaw and Carroll are I think accidents waiting to happen and I should have avoided them.

    4) Impatience/hits – took a -8 last week in a mad rush to get Cazorla out for Sanchez. The hit involved Costa (who I figured would get his next yellow) so it looks even more stupid now.

TL/DR – for some reason I’ve played like a casual this season, after top 10k finishes the previous three (standard bigging up at end of comment). Anyone feel like they have really made mistakes of their own making so far rather than just being unlucky?

I'd like to confess as well. I wildcarded week two, on the basis that last season, that would have worked - the same people kept scoring week after week. It did okay to begin with, then Hazard dried up, Sanchez exploded after I dropped him, and I am in a permanent state of catchup.

I also took a -8 to triple up on Liverpool which has, shockingly, actually paid off.

I haven't dared to check but I think my team might have more points if I haven't touched it all season. There's always next year.

I'm in the ranking doldrums too.

While there was method to my mistakes I've suffered a little from the same issues. Bit too patient with some, not patient enough for others.

Also I think I've relied too heavily on underlying stats - which in the case of keeping Ibrahimovic has proved costly. Going to deploy the 'eye test' a little more. Worked a treat last season with Vardy. Also worked in part in GWK 7 where I drafted in Sanchez (c). After seeing Ibra in Europa I didn't feel that ManU would turn over anyone from open play, while Arsenal could. Sanchez blanked but the principle was sound. More watching of games I think should soon turn it around.

I'm also going to ignore fixtures a little. Form is going a long way this season - see Spurs v MCI.

Other policies have done of mine have done well this season so I'll stick to those.

But yes, forgive me, Fantasy managers, for I too have sinned. 😉

On the plus side though I won a tenner on FanDuel by ignoring players I have in FPL and drafting in those I'd lost patience with. 🙂

Fan duel looks a good way of hedging against the depression a terrible fpl week can bring on.

This week for example I didn't have sanchez or ibrahimovic and captained lukaku in what could have been a car crash gw. At least with fan duel you are able to pick players not in your team you have a chance of doing well in one game to offset the potential depression.

This is why I play two ff games too to an extent with a draft style game which means you stick to the same players more or less for the season and this makes the draft team very different to your fpl team.

Tldr it's good to have different players in a different game as it helps to offset bad gw depression.

Indeed. I disastrously ditched Firmino for Lallana in FPL. A move that prompted me to captain Firmino in Sky and move him in for Lallana in FanDuel. It also got me thinking about the Liverpool defence and I got Fer into my Dugout FC draft league side....where I also have Roberto.

So while I had a horrendous FPL week I leave GWK 7 with Sanchez in place, £10 up, in the lead in the Mods and Contribs draft and with a big Sky rankings boost. 🙂

And minus the horrible depression of an international break off the back of a write off fpl week.

Does fan duel take much time to set your team up each week? (honest answer now!)

I do research for our weekly articles so I'm not a normal person to ask about how long it takes.

Basically look at this table about the key Fan Duel criteria and it shouldn't take long to pinpoint good players. http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/14556/

          I know,

Took a few risks. Should have just stuck to the template.

Puncheon another example of sensational underlying stats not coming to fruition. Trouble is he still passes the eye test too - like Ibra I'm not sure why he hasn't been scoring.

Back to dullard ways I guess. 😉

Seems to be paying off for the template backers.

Template seems to change weekly at the start so i think the earlier WC didn't go to plan for you as another template had emerged by the time Mark and a lot of others played theirs and you found yourself all of a sudden with differentials all over the show and out of your comfort zone.. just an observation feel free to tell me if i'm talking nonsense 🙂

You'll be back in the groove soon no doubt you always are

I think it was more that I didn't go more for the template at the time enough. The template hasn't really changed that much since then as it was based around Lukaku, Antonio, Sanchez and Sterling. Still is albeit with Walcott or Firmino instead of Antonio.

I got in Antonio or example who has been great. But I didn't get Sanchez then or Sterling or Lukaku. They were all the template at the time.

Mark and others, who played their wildcard at the same time benefited from correctly focusing on those players.

So the error was less timing, more getting the wrong players. 🙂

But yes, current rank is fairly usual for this time of the season and I'm pretty happy with my team now Sanchez is in place.

I worked it out that if I'd have done nothing I'd have been 11 pts better off. But still way below average.

It was disappointing but in the grand scheme of things I'm not that fussed by missing out on 11 pts.

Missing out on an Aguero five goal haul captaincy for example is proper disappointment.

Having played for a number of seasons I can very easily put bad weeks into perspective.

I sinned last gameweek by getting carried away with all the Firmino and Lallana hype!

I am always one that says don't chase yesterday's points, today is a new day but had to get rid of Baines and didn't want any defender up to 5.5 as I wanted to double on Arsenal defenders (already had Bellerin) so I got Koscielny.

Luckily i wasn't punished for my sin as Koscielny was the highest scoring player of the gameweek but it taught me a valid lesson - 'don't chase yesterday's points, today is a new day' and never forget that.

Bandwagon jumpers will never win the whole thing they will just have very high value teams which at the end of the day doesn't get you points.

Pretty much echoing your post Soze, shouldn't have wildcarded early, but happens every year. This week would have been an ideal time to use it.

Still feel I have been pretty unlucky, don't deserve to be outside the top million but thats where I languish! Just the way it goes, hope the luck changes soon.

Big regret was swapping Valancia to Shaw on the WC, all for the sake of him rising at the time. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but having watched games it was clear Valencia was more exciting than Shaw, but greed got the better of me!

Currently bouncing between 600k-800k mostly due to 4 captain fails in the first 7 game weeks. Was so sure of a haul last week - Ibra(c) vs the Stoke defence, Aguero, Benteke, Firmino... I ended up with 34! 🙁

Kept Ibra and Hazard on my wildcard, both done nothing since. Also Shaw has got injured.

Time to get it sorted. Can't handle another 280k rank like last season!

I think 280k was my first season rank - in fairness I was really only playing a mate in an ML and taking hits like confetti..

My confession is that I did the following on Monday for a -4:
Ibra / Baines / Foster to Deeney / Smith / Lloris

Not overly happy looking at my team now with 5m itb...
My sin: messing with my team when extremely hungover 😉

Drink and rage moves are the same as losing it on bad beats in poker. I think having a bad GW and fighting the urge to immediately change things is the hardest skill but the most critical. Analyse before anything and make a decision based on your own logic - at least if it fails you can say you were in the right mental state when you did it.

Well put man! I've been a casual player the past few seasons and need to ensure what I did is a one off if I'm to take it more serious! Fun's the most important thing but I have to say I'm enjoying the challenge of following FPL more closely this season. First year on this site and it's very cool. Cheers & GL

No worries Soze. Plenty of time for redemption 🙂

I've made some pretty ridiculous decisions as well. Everything was rosy in GW1 when Rooney actually looked like a good pick. I kept him till GW5 when I should've shipped a lot sooner. In GW2 I didn't give Aguero the armband (vs. Stoke) and I didn't have Ibra either. Sometimes I give my gut too much credit when really there's an obvious choice I should be backing. That led to a MASSIVE decline down the ranks. I learnt my lesson. Ramirez was also a really bad pick after looking good in only a couple of games.

Since my wildcard in GW6 things have improved though. Glad I used it then.

Just came back to the PC and now realised that I can't get back into the confession box!!!

I'll add a few more comments to this later now it's green (my favourite colour). I appreciate the feedback and hope you all feel a bit more cleansed, after all its the famous GW8 coming!

FPL for me is so like poker - you take a few bad beats and start doing silly things. Plenty of time for the cool heads to come through in MLs and low ranks.

      Bless you all,

      Father Soze.

You've pretty much summed-up my season so far, albeit with different cast members. My only saving grace is that this is my first FPL campaign, and I can therefore put everything down to being a rookie (conveniently ignoring the fact I've played fantasy football in one form or another for the last 13 years).

Its been a strange one for me this year. I haven't made many errors but the one's I have made were shocking!

      Mistakes include:

      Mahrez and Vardy in gw1:

Despite having a decent gw1, this was lazy. One of the 2 is acceptable (without hindsight) but 2 was foolhardy. Both players were likely to have high ownership but be subject to a fire sale if they didn't perform immediately so I never should have risked both.

      Believing the Pogba hype:

After gw2, Zlatan was seeming essential so i needed to fund the money. Why I decided to believe the Pogba hype rather than go for Sterling (after 2 assists in 2gw) to help fund the cash makes me feel like I deserve a 50 point deduction.

Sanchez for a hit AND captaining him after the first international break:

He got the rested. The risk was obvious. Definitely unlike me.

Aside from that. I did very well in my gw6 wildcard and this has followed with a decent 54pts in gw7. I'm at 150k and I am quietly confident of a few more green arrows in the next few.

I've been a casual player so far, but hoping to change that (92k right now, so i must be doing something right...oh yes, that would be reading articles on this site 🙂 . The sins, as expected, are legion!

      1. General lack of planning in defence:
      - Choosing the wrong Smith 😛 and therefore being forced to play Amat for those horrible fixtures in the middle
      - Sticking with a West Ham defender, even after watching the shambles their defence was in

      2. Captaining Sanchez after the international break

      3. WC'ed too early to get Hazard in place of Sterling (and this is after reading the article on Hazard not doing well in away games on this site)

      4. Benching Capoue when he was raking points like there was no tomorrow, and slotting him in when he isn't (ongoing mistake)

Overall, not exactly chasing points, but still rattled by many quickfire/impulse sales and buys. Now i already have a -4 point hit and still have Sterling and Lallana in my team - this might get very bad very soon

      1. DaisyDaisyDaisyDaisy
        • 10 Years
        7 years, 7 months ago

I'd forgot about Capoue - sat on my bench from GW3 onwards till last weeks blank!

I'm sure your midfield will be well by GW8 - can sometimes help to keep them out of internationals and I'm sure some clubs look for any excuse to keep a player back. Only Gareth Southgate is the loser...

        1. LakhaneeFC
          • 7 Years

Capoue is going to give me sleepless nights in the future as well - but i think with their new formation, Deeney seems the way to go. That is, till he scores 10+ points in GW8 when i bench him. YET AGAIN!

Re Sterling and Lallana, that's the hope, i will be slaughtered otherwise - especially given my cavalier attitude towards my defence.

Given Big Sam's precedent, and the template for an English manager's time in charge in general, I Southgate might just be the most relaxed manager England has had in a long time. Can't screw up more than the current situation.

Yeah I messed up big time this season. At 300k now

      I:
      - went with injury prone players like Shaw and Kaboul
      - went with a stupid ownership tactic for which kinda worked at first
      - taken 3 hits in 3 consecutive GWs now
      - picked players based on overall ownership
      - being too patient? With Ibra and Hazard. In hindsight it's easy to say, but they are not worth the expensive price tags on current form

I think there is something in the ownership method, but I went about it in such a bad way

Yeah, before last week I was at 80K so I think it worked to a certain extent. I`m still experimenting with it so trying new things. Where I went wrong was looking more at overall ownership, and I think looking at the top 10K`s ownership illustrates a much better picture.

    Morning all,

Starting to think I need to make transfers before any further price rises as I have nothing in the bank and Ibra will likely fall before the break is over.

The problem is I can't decide what to do. I know I should get rid of Ibra but his stats.....so good. Of course the no goals is a problem 🙂

Not even sure if we got any news on Glen Johnson yet? Withdrawing from the England squad can't be good

    Heaton - Pickford
    Baines - Lovren - Johnson - Holebas - Amat
    Firmino - Sterling - Antonio - Bolasie - Capoue
    Aguero - Ibra - Lukaku

I suppose the key is Arsenal assets. Can I get away with Walcott or do I need to get Sanchez? I'd also like to replace Baines with Kosc or Bellerin.

If Sanchez then I realistically need to get Wilson or Austin in for Ibra to swap Bolasie. If I want Deeney I'd need to find around 0.6-0.7 from somewhere else.

    Thoughts?

My thougts are you need to take time to settle on what you really want before rushing into any transfers. So much could happen between now and the start of the next week. Maybe Aguero will be injured, or some other major event.
Prices move very slowly now, there no movement, take time to look at the bigger picture.

not sure how many FT's you have.

Snoddy has good fixtures. You could switch
      Bolasie to Snod
      Ibra to Deeney
      Antonio to Sanchez.

Agree that taking hits is not desirable, but this season it seems like you need to catch players at the right time. Fixtures for Deeney, Snod and Sanchez look good.

Walcott in the form he is can arguably keep the pace with Sanchez and is justifiable if you have the knackers to captain him.. Long term he won't get near him imo in terms of points..

Arsenal defender looks a valuable asset should have been a WC necessity tbh.. getting dearer too

      Ibra > Austin
      Bolasie > Alexis

I agree with those saying wait. What if Aguero gets injured...those 2 frees with 13m in the bank paint a different picture.

I think Sanchez - if Wenger says he'll play and won't be rested - is handy, but Walcott may offer a useful back up.

Everyone thinking Ibra will crash to 11.2 this week, but he surely won't go lower than 11.4. You definitely have time to wait until at least midweek next week to make your decisions.

Which would make you feel worse - Missing a transfer by .1 (which may not happen), or doing the transfers for a -4 and then someone getting injured? The latter would do my nut far more.

As for GJ, just a wait and see on him I think. With some players you knwo they will be fine (Drinkwater, Sterling, etc) but with GJ injury history i guess you have to be a little more cautious, even pessimistic!

strange thing is, the top 4 in my m/l {im 2nd} dont have ibra, person who is top, is in top 1k !
7 out of the bottom 8 do have ibra,{only 2 have ibra&kun} maybe coincidence, like most they are still waiting patiently for a big haul, to justify having him, hes alot of money compared to others, when you can use that cash for tot or ars def ?, and/or arsenal midfield, which maybe will bring in more points long term, good luck

Defo considering allen for Capoue. Arnie too expensive considerin the alternatives at that price and shaq has been horrible.

    Is this worth a -8?

    Ibra + Mane + Evans --> Deeney + Sanchez + Bellerin

No way. Mane is still on the verge of exploding and Evans can just sit on your bench. Any other concerns?

I know its considered cool on here to dismiss the latest bandwagons so i dint find it surprising when ppl suggesting Allen were dismissed. They've not even considered the fact that he is playing in the hole now(Cameron and Whelan in the pivot) and has looked very attackin from that position. Considerin the fixtures he is defo worth a punt. Cameron too for anyone looking for an OOP prospect

Absolutely worth a punt but its a stretch to say he is playing as a 10. A 433 formation doesn't really have a 10

And if I stick with 343 I will probably be bringing Allen in as my 5th mid. Plenty of potential and has strong fixtures.

Agreed. I've watched the last couple stoke games and he looks like their main attacking threat though. Partly cause bony loves just dropping back and letting allen make the runs ahead of him. Cant really check the avg position maps but id bet he ll be almost as far forward as bony/shaq/Arnie and even further forward maybe

So the kneejerkers have all moved on to Costa and the Ibra transfers out seem to have slowed right down.

How many transfers out does he need now for the triple drop which the Scouts have been trying to spread fear for or does it look like it will be 1 drop if that?

What is a typical value we should be aiming for around this time in the season?

I have seen some folk say £102m is really good, and some say £103m is poor.

    Any ideas?

      • 13 Years

No I'm afraid not. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you do well TV will look after itself.

Thanks, I am pretty happy with my team value to be honest. It seems to be a lot higher than those in my ML - which should stand me in good stead for the latter part of the season.

However, like you say, no need to worry - it's all about the points.

        1. A.T
          • 13 Years

103 isn't poor at all btw. I'd guess 102 is about average.

    2. KingNidge
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 7 months ago

You don't aim for any amount it is what it is really.. getting the players that are bringing home the bacon and a decent TV usually come hand in hand.. there will always be a collection of people with ridiculously high TV but more often than not it's on the back of 2 or 3 transfers every week and hence they are nowhere to be seen in terms of OR at the end of the season

    3. pompeyfan
      • 14 Years
      7 years, 7 months ago

the importance of it really is overstated on here. Having an extra £1m may give you a better player in a position, but who's to say that they will perform better than the alternative.

I'd much rather have the points on the board, and remove some of the risk of early transfers.

Going to change to the 352 formation

    Grant -Pickford

I think Arsenal defenders will well outscore him. He's the cheapest in but that little bit extra spend might be worth it. He's not likely to get many save points with the his team passing about holding possession for long periods.

Well making Capoue my 4th mid wasn't the best of ideas. Although it did allow me to have a Aguero Lukaku Costa front line which has been lovely, so a success in a way.

Only way I can get an upgraded 4th mid is to downgrade Costa or Lukaku. Not worth atm, right?
