The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Quarter Finals Draw

This afternoon we reveal the names of the competitors who won their seventh round ties to earn a place in Gameweek 21’s quarter-final stage of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

A reminder that, for this contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

The competition’s highest placed manager Bashvilla, who is placed 9,708 in the world, will face Hazardous Blue, after seeing off Real Sociopath 47 – 39 in the last 16 round, which took place in Gameweek 19.

Hazardousblue is ranked just under 50,000 places below the competition favourite and prevailed over Lowlifegimpe 57 to 43 in round seven.

The second highest placed manager, 14,654 ranked Moin, squares up to malvernangells, who is just 2,000 places behind him following Gameweek 19’s fixtures.

Our other quarter-finals see Back on the Horse take on David Brains. The former will be the favourite with a rank of 18,929 compared to his opponent’s placing of 69,806.

Finally, the contest’s lowest ranked manager, 306,421 placed Urchin, has a tough encounter with a A Manager Has No Name, who sits in the top 40,000 following his Gameweek 19 victory over jacknap.

The manager to win the highest score prize in the last sixteen, claiming £30 credit from FanDuel, is David Brains who scored 60 points in his defeat of Big Phil Soccer Team.

The managers to earn a £10 FanDuel credit for the next highest scores were: Hazardous Blue, A Manager Has No Name, Urchin and jacknap.

The last 16 results can be found via this link, while the full quarter-finals draw can be found via this link.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes here.

Every week I look and expect his numbers to drop, every week Roberto Firmino Barbosa de Oliveira tops midfielders for pen box touches, shots in the box and shots on target over the last 4 weeks.

He just doesn't look the same player he was earlier on in the season. Think he misses his amigo Phil! If he comes central again the points will come, but he struggles out wide.

Yeah me. But after a game or 2, see how he settles in. Remember it was only just last season and he was rubbish (in a FF sense) on his return.

Not a Lallana owner but definitely want Coutinho once he's back, I stayed away from Aguero as he was too risky at that price for me. Can deal with 8.2m on a top quality player.

For those who want to sell Origi. Please do it. Now even if possible before he's too cheap.

He's really unlikely to score any points against Swansea and Hull's well drilled defensive units in the next 4 and prob won't play either even if Mane and Countinho are not available and Sturridge is on one leg.

I need the minus .3 after having suffered the same fate with Nacho these last few weeks.

I want to win my ML with a team value below 100 if I can.

    Help me. Please.

Insanity, why below 100m? Origi's time will be limited, always a rotation risk.

Can see where you're coming from but Mane only definitely gone for 2 games, Coutinho back soon and Sturridge might be fine might he? Seems a short term option, not a massive rush to get rid but there are better options

Ouch, Evans has good fixtures so as long as his injury isn't bad stick with him. Hope Holebas doesn't get another yellow for you next week. Cedric a rotation risk for a side that have conceded 7 in 2 games and aren't looking themselves. Possibly due to incredibly congested fixture list. I'd be looking to get rid of Holebas after this week (in fact I am) & possibly Cedric this week. Not worth -4 though.

Decent, very decent. Maybe worth a punt on either Davies or Holgate as you're 5th mid/defender? Neither guaranteed starts but both very cheap and when they do start more likely to get you points.

Sunderland sell Defoe and they're in trouble.
Watford - this policy of wholesale shipping in and out players could find them out. Didn't look against Spurs that they had any sort of stomach for a relegation fight.
Palace - BFS will get them safe
      Stoke - will be okay
Burnley - Have got a goalscorer and will pick up the points against their rivals
Boro - not a bad side but can they actually win games?

It's going to be the sides that don't invest in Jan that go down - particularly in defenders. Some shocking defences about this season.

it's alright these premier league clubs having money but they need to learn how to spend it properly.
all these European clubs do is go out and buy a ready-made replacement for half the price.
No joke that there are 2 prices for a player - normal and one for the PL.
How is a striker with basically a 1 in 4 goal return worth 24m.?

yeah looking at defoe or benteke - both have reasonable fixtures. Already have brunt and phillips so don't feel comfortable with triple west brom. Will see how benteke looks tonight. Just think defoe edges it as more reliable and is better at pens!

I think Manchester United will give the depleted Liverpool a good hammering
Liverpool have been very leaky at the back all season and now that that the likes of Mane Coutinho and Sturridge out of the picture they might not have the goals to bale them out this time

I am looking forward to this game 🙂

Despite table position, United are playing much better than Liverpool right now. Just look at recent form/results

Pushing Pogba up to #10 position and Mkhi getting more minutes has a lot to do with it

Not sure, I think Sunderland game was an anomaly against recent results. Seemed to have tightened up defensively and have good stats. Two penalties conceded (stupidly), but not from open play.

    Hi all

    Happy New Year.

May I please ask for some general advice?

I've really neglected my team these past two months and the result is that I am still in contention in my ML but my team value has fallen over 4 million behind.

I am looking at my options and thinking that my season is over if it stays that way, I just can't compete.

Have you guys got any advice for how to tackle this? Should I be looking to jump on any price rises over the next couple of months?

    Thanks for any input!

We are only halfway through the season, still plenty of time to catch up and plenty to play for

      Cheer up

Fading Alexis is a great contrarian play right now in my view (with Giroud back)

Spread his funds over your team to balance it out.

That's the route I would go for, just don't own anyone that has over 50% ownership in top 10k

Snoddy reminds me of an Andy Reid/Wes Hoolohan type player. Big issue is he lacks pace and physicality and can be see as a "luxury" player in a struggling team

Thanks for the answers on the last page, guys. Got on the phone so didn't see them.

It was suggested that when you are far behind, you should not get the players everyone has. I totally agree with this, which is why I got in Ibra, Pogba and Baines early, while keeping Defoe. But it's not necessarily viable to ONLY have differentials either. And Sanchez seems like the kind of player it's hard to eschew even if you are trailing.

    Not sure though

Of course you will need a few pillars to build your team around but if i was in your shoes and wanted to make up ground on a rival i would take a chance on premium players he does not have to start building around 120 points is a hefty gap to make up

No one says this, but they keep hiring good managers and that is crucial. Pochettino, Koeman and Puel will keep them safe. I'd argue those three could lead the current Swansea side to safety with a couple of additions. Bradley was never ever keeping Swansea safe even if they signed Ibra.

policy seems to have changed since they were producing their own players from the academy - Shaw, Lallana etc. Maybe something to do with change of ownership since 2014.

JWP , Targett, & McQueen don't seem to be able to establish themselves. And we kept hearing that the next lot inc. Reed, Hesketh were supposed to be ready but haven't turned up yet.

That GW 22 looks like a great opportunity to use a chip. AOA defo - Triple Cap and bench boost for the bold.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool could easily bag 3-4 goals each with CS very likely too.

This might well be the highest scoring GW - bar DGWs or course..
