FFS Cup

FFScout Cups – Results and Third Round Draws

Our two Fantasy Football Scout cup competitions are progressing at lightning pace as we look back on the events of the midweek’s second round and ahead to round three, which kicks off on Saturday.

There were mixed fortunes for some former winners of our open to all cup, with reigning champion A Manager Has No Name among those to go through to the next round. He saw off community regular Krul runnings to set himself up with a clash with What Divock?!, who, with an overall rank of 69,987, is 42,738 places higher.

Among the other champions, Wild Rover and Donnellyc also prevailed, as did Mark, who squares up to tkmlim.

Of this trio, Mark – who is ranked 542 overall – can feel the most confident, given that his opponent is placed 66,102 places behind him.

However, the same cannot be said of 42,422-ranked Wild Rover, who faces the cup’s highest placed manager pitstop1 – he sits in 123rd spot.

There is also a seismic gap in the tie involving 284,826-ranked donnellyc and his opponent Who Divock Is Origi, who is comfortably in the top 10,000 at 6,139.

Sadly, I exit at this early stage, with Not Much Klopp’s score of 70 proving too much for my 50-point tally. Gribude joins me through the door, after being defeated 56-50 by Footopia.

Joining Mark as one of our live Hall of Fame representatives to survive is Dronny Imp, aka David Meechan, who progressed past Legomane 65-59 to take on Jurgen Can Karius, who, at 931,186, is the clear underdog given David’s pedigree and current 4,767 rank.

Another elite manager to make the cut is My Pretty Pony, aka Peter Kouewenberg, who is third in our live Hall of Fame and earns a third round encounter with Prophet.

This is another favourable clash for one of our top veterans, given that Peter’s opponent is ranked 262,527 places below his 1,567 ranking.

Top Marx, whose regular community analysis of the Hall of Fame involves some enlightening conversations with Peter, also makes it through and takes on Citizen Z.

The full third round draw can be found here.

Meanwhile, in our Members cup there will be a new name on the trophy after both former winners were dispatched.

Fuzzy Dunlop was beaten 60—56 by community veteran Parm, while Trigg was sent packing by Fenghh.

Billy Ketsu had a week to forget, after losing his place at the summit of the FFScout Members league and tasting defeat in his cup draw against Doctor 101.

Sleep Talk, who was beaten in round one of the open to all cup by Mark, is having better luck in the Members Cup, where he overcame Ma3jdw. This 38,164-ranked manager will now face 52,905-placed AT in the third round.

Another eye catching tie is community regulars FrankieTheGent and Hybrid.power’s clash.

There is also the chance of a giant killing for 56,534 ranked Rickytoso, who squares up to the Members cup’s highest-ranked manager Pukka, who is placed at 78th in the world.

The full third round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Siggy > Eriksen for free a no brainer?

    Tempted by Sane though..l

Don't think it's a no brainer, as Swansea still have to score and Siggy will have to be involved.

        + West Hame (H) isn't really a defensive stronghold. 🙂

Having to score and actually scoring is a different story

They've had to score the last 3 weeks and he's got nothing

Depends on the Kane plan though. 3 spurs attackers? Will you/we want three when Chelsea wrap up the title and Spurs' squad players get a look in?

Negredo or Origi to replace Llorente for the next 3?

Negredo: BUR, ARS, *bou & SUN (*DGW)

    Origi: sto, wha, CPL

Negredo more nailed on and has one more game, plus 3 at home vs 1 at home for Origi.

Origi plays in a more attacking team but Boro’ are fighting for their lives and need to score.

L’pool not the same without Mane and slight threat from Sturridge or Lallana returning and Firm playing up top.

    I’m leaning towards Negredo. 😯

If you think Boro need to score, that enhances Origi as a prospect, not diminishes it, right?

I think Origi likely to start every game, but Sturridge will take minutes away from him, especially this weekend, given there was a game midweek. Definitely a threat of rotation, but Origi just pups it for me. Negredo has no form. I'd prefer Llorente to Negredo (not sure if he's out though.....is he?)

Seasoned veterans: This year seems like absolute chaos, not clear cut template, changeable weekly. Is this normal or a particularly bad year for unpredictability?

I have enjoyed it although think this season has favoured the more adventurous players and has been a better year for hitters

      1. Deulofail
        • 8 Years
        7 years, 2 months ago

I disagree about being adventurous. Being willing to take more hits to get the template teams, yes, maybe, but that's not exactly adventurous. I'd say I've been quite adventurous this season, and it's not worked out at all. The obvious players have tented to get the most points. Its just that the obvious players change every 2 weeks

Played many years i would not class my self a veteran seems arrogant but i like the pricing in midfield and defense but agree on strikers are expensive but we expected better from vardy and studge but no template has appeared all season I see that as a indicator they got it right

    3. Deulofail
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 2 months ago

Not a veteran but definitely seems more chaotic this year. I'm 12th in ML full of casual/semi-casual players, but seasoned pros on here seem able to maintain high rankings, so perhaps I took too many risks (because of the wealth of options) to try to get ahead of the pack.

    My team is

    Pickford, Jaku
    Baines, Smith, Valencia, Amat, Mawson
    Sanchez, Eriksen, Siggy, King, Fletcher
    Aguero, Vardy, Lukaku

I have two free transfers and only 0.1 in the bank. I was thinking of doing Sanchez to Alli and upgrading a defender to Walker or someone else. I'd like to keep Sanchez, but he's the only one I could drop to free up funds. Unless I do Vardy out for someone, but he's on good form. Any suggestions?

    1FT:
    Bank: 0.1

    Heaton
    Walker - Rannochia - McAuley - Alonso
    Coutinho - Eriksen - Sigurdsson - Hazard
    Lukaku - Ibrahimovic
Subs: Jakupovic, Ake, De Roon and Llorente.

Consider getting a Manchester City player. Sane maybe? Or Aguero? With him, I could even do without Alonso and -4. What do you all mean? With Sigurdsson I am somehow not so satisfied.

Or what do I do with Llorente? What would you recommend? I'm doing it hard. That's why I need your help.

I did alli > cout before gw34. Considering I originally bought alli at 8.1m and had to get him at 9m, missing all his points in the process, fair to say I regret massively losing him in the first place. Really want eriksen too but prob more likely to get Kane when he's back.

Frustrating! I already own 3 Spurs players if I'd double up on Alli & Eriksen (with Walker). Time will tell what's the best trio ^^ Walker hasn't done anything since I move him in tho...

    Good to go? 😐

    Heaton
    Alonso / Mawson / McAuley
    Sanchez / Alli / Sigurdsson / King
    Aguero(c) / Lukaku / Costa

    Pickford / Cedric / Carroll / Chambers* / (-4)

    Correct to bench Cedric? 😕

I'd bench Mawson for Cedric. And I'd do Siggy to Eriksen -4.

Wish I could squeeze Eriksen in there but can't afford it. 0.3m in the bank. I do think Siggy will do something this weekend though so hopefully he matches him... Cedric or Mawson is a bit of a conundrum alright! 😀

Ahead of GW34, there are going to be so many questions: Shall i bench De Roon or Siggy/Zaha etc.

No idea what to do with this motley crew...

    Foster, Pickford
    Alonso, Evans, Yoshida, Mawson, Robertson
    Sanchez, Alli, Siggy, Sterling, Fletcher
    Aguero, Lukaku, Carroll

    0.4 ITB, 1 FT, 10k overall

Carroll and Sterling are bugging me. And I'd like to make room for Valencia/Ibra for the doubles. Any thoughts?

Keep Carroll until Gabbi is back. Carroll > Gabbi & Sterling > Zaha frees up funds for Ibra if you want him

    1FT:
    Bank: 0.1

    Heaton
    Walker - Rannochia - McAuley - Alonso
    Coutinho - Eriksen - Sigurdsson - Hazard
    Lukaku - Ibrahimovic
Subs: Jakupovic, Ake, De Roon and Llorente.

Consider getting a Manchester City player. Sane maybe? Or Aguero? With him, I could even do without Alonso and -4. What do you all mean? With Sigurdsson I am somehow not so satisfied.

Or what do I do with Llorente? What would you recommend? I'm doing it hard. That's why I need your help 😀
