Dugout Discussion – Newcastle vs Spurs

Two of the three most popular players in Fantasy Premier League take to the field as Tottenham Hotspur make their way to Newcastle United in the 1.30pm kick-off.

Harry Kane is the main captaincy pick for Sunday’s early fixture. Owned by 37% of FPL managers, he’s been handed the armband by 22% on the back of 7.5 points per match last season.

The Spurs frontman was also runner-up in our Gameweek 1 Captain Poll after netting seven times in his final two away appearances of 2016/17.

Meanwhile, his team-mate Dele Alli is the most owned midfielder in the game, sitting in 38% of squads for the trip to Tyneside.

Both Alli and playmaker Christian Eriksen supplied 6.1 points per match last term and face a defence with just eight clean sheets in 23 home fixtures in the Championship.

Meanwhile, with the Magpies’ fixtures turning kindly next weekend, we get the chance to scout the likes of Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle as potential mid-price options for our squads.

Elsewhere, Rob Elliot gets the nod between the posts for the home side – he’s currently the only active 4.0-priced keeper in the game.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Wished Jesus had scored yesterday, would've been a masterstroke with no Kane

58 min for Sissoko and nearly had an assist with Kane. Just offside. I hope he starts next week. Links up well with Kane and I think they'll smash Chelski

Today is fine. Thousands of people will now fury sell Kane and we'll be rewarded for when he scores.

Get rid of Kane. I need every price drop possible. 12.4 or 12.3 in GW3 will be amazing.

Both my players were booked in that game, neither got any attacking or defensive returns and the two players I wanted to stay quiet scored points.

And now I need to watch Lukaku tear it up 🙁

Kane to Aguero/Jesus in rage incoming..... Kane is 12.5..... he should play like a 12.5 player........ no messing about. no missing sitters shooting right at the keeper at 0-0.. no hitting posts one v one with the keeper.... not good enough

If you get rid after that performance you should never be allowed to get him back. I'd captain him all over again. Inches away from a pretty good haul.

When you see that chance he misses and that post you realize this game is all about luck above everything else.

    I would say 85% luck 10% knowledge 5% flair
