DraftKings have set up another exclusive Fantasy Football Scout contest for this round of matches – the FFS League is free to play with a $500 prize pot.

Select your eight-man squad and register your account to get free entry to our League. Cash prizes are available right down to 128th place.

These is also a huge $20,000* in total prizes available in the DraftKings “Clean Sheet” Champions League contest. The top manager will have an opportunity to claim a $3,000* cash prize and prizes will be given from 1st to 140th place.

“Saramek”, a UK-based DraftKings manager from Congleton, got involved and claimed top spot in last week’s $25k Valentine’s Day Special Champions League contest.

His winning line-up (below) included no less than five of Bayern Munich’s star performers from their 5-1 drubbing of Arsenal, helping him to a $5000 prize.

Tuesday Player Picks

Fixtures
Manchester City vs Monaco
Bayer Leverkusen vs Atletico Madrid

Jan Oblak – Atletico Madrid – $5,000 – G
Having recovered faster than expected from a shoulder injury, the Slovenian is back in training ahead of Atletico’s trip to Germany.

Oblak conceded just a single goal in the six group matches and should get the nod if fit, though deputy Angel Moya ($4,900) has been a respectable stand-in – he’s registered 11.3 Fantasy Points Per Game (FPPG) in DraftKings over eight matches, which included 24 saves and five clean sheets.

Benjamin Mendy – Monaco – $4,200 – D
A strong return of 77 crosses (worth 0.75 points each) in nine DraftKings matches has helped the Monaco man build an FPPG of 14.1 this term.

Priced favourably, Mendy still looks a very viable option ahead of a trip to Manchester City – the raiding left-back has racked up seven assists in 19 Ligue 1 and Champions League outings so far.

Raheem Sterling – Manchester City – $7,600 – M/F
While an injury to Gabriel Jesus has left City reeling, Sterling’s recent form raises his stock as Pep Guardiola’s men welcome Monaco to the Etihad.

The winger is far kinder on the budget than Kevin De Bruyne ($9,000, M/F) and Sergio Aguero ($9,200, F) and has markedly upped his consistency in recent matches, producing a goal or assist in eight of the last ten league outings.

Yannick Carrasco – Atletico Madrid – $7,900 – M/F
Atletico travel to a Bayer Leverkusen side that have underperformed this season, drawing four group stage ties and losing more matches than they’ve won in the Bundesliga.

While we were tempted by Antoine Griezmann ($8,300), Carrasco is our preferred pick from Diego Simeone’s side. He had 11 goals, four assists, 55 crosses and 20 interceptions in 31 DraftKings appearances. That showcases his all-round ability, while a goal and an assist against Celta Vigo last weekend emphasises the Belgian’s current form.

Karim Bellarabi – Bayer Leverkusen – $5,500 – M/F
With playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu banned for the rest of the season due to a contract dispute, his fellow wide man offers a cut-price route into a Leverkusen attack that has scored at least twice in four successive home matches across all competitions.

Bellarabi has bagged three assists in his last two home outings, including two in a weekend win over Eintracht Frankfurt, where he also supplied six crosses from his role on the right.

Wednesday Player Picks

Fixtures
Porto vs Juventus
Sevilla vs Leicester City

Sergio Rico – Sevilla – $5,600 – G
The Sevilla number one boasts an impressive 10.3 FPPG ahead of a visit from goal-shy Leicester City next Wednesday.

Rico has produced 12 clean sheets and 88 saves in 26 outings across all competitions and will fancy his chances of shutout number 13 against a Foxes outfit that has scored a single goal in their last eight Premier League matches.

Dani Alves – Juventus – $5,000 – D
The summer signing from Barcelona gets the nod due to his DraftKings points potential at both ends of the pitch. Flourishing as a right wing-back in Juventus’ 3-5-2 set-up, Alves has provided 80 crosses over 21 appearances in all competitions, with an average of 1.9 crosses per Serie A match more than any team-mate.

However, it’s the Brazilian’s encouraging defensive actions that set him apart ahead of the trip to Porto. A total of 45 tackles won (each provide +1 Point in DraftKings) and 33 interceptions (+0.5 points) make Alves a prime candidate for inclusion in our rosters.

Wilfred Ndidi – Leicester City – $4,400 – M
Leicester’s dire domestic forms makes it difficult to recommend any of the Foxes attackers, though the ball-winning ability of their winter signing from Belgian side Gent could prove value for money.

Averaging 8.8 FPPG, Ndidi made more tackles and interceptions than any other player in the group stages of the Europa League before making his way to the King Power, suggesting that Claudio Ranieri may have finally found his replacement for N’Golo Kante in the centre of the park.

Gonzalo Higuain – Juventus – $8,500
The Argentinian has settled seamlessly in Turin after a controversial switch from Napoli over the summer.

Higuain may be the third most expensive forward on offer for the midweek matches yet his record since arriving at the Old Lady is hard to overlook. Three goals in five Champions League group stage appearances and 18 strikes in 24 Serie A outings makes him our go-to option for the trip to Porto.

Andre Silva – Porto – $6,800 – F
Four goals and two assists over the group stages underlines Silva’s importance to Porto ahead of the showdown with Juventus.

A single goal against in their last six in all competitions shows that the Serie A side will be a tough nut to crack but if their hosts are to stand any chance of progressing, Silva – with an FPPG average of 15.5 – will surely be key.

Firmino. Mane's goal conversion is due to regress while Firmino's is due to increase.

i'm tempted by a double up even with Liverpool fixture difficulty.
      1. Liverpool doing well against top 6 sides
      2. Basically Liverpool have had a 2 week break and i reckon they could really kick on from that. Klopp has had the winter break he wanted albeit a couple of weeks later than he wanted it.

Not a bad idea. When Liverpool's fixture congestion eases and they have plenty of time to prepare for games, they become a force.

Mane for me. Firmino blanked for ages, mane returned after AFCON and has produced within a few games. I think his pace gives him more potential for returning points.

Mane involved in one in five Liverpool away goals.
Firmino involved in one in ten Liverpool away goals.

      Leicester away up next.

Mane involved in just under a third of all of Liverpool's goals.
Firmino involved in one in five.

      My answer is Mane.

Indeed. He's top for goal involvement at home.

Just under four out of every 10 goals at Anfield involve Mane. three out of ten for Firmino.

Mane's goal conversion rate should regress to the norm, around the 15% mark for him, unless he is going to be the golden boot winner this season.

Firmino's goal conversion should increase from around 10% to his norm of 15%. All the signs are good. Those attempts in the box are on target. He looks set for a great end to the season.

        Great point.

This is how they play - and why they were so poor without Mane. Firmino creates the space for Mane to score. Without Mane he was creating space for no one to score.

Firmino will score the odd goal in that role - but his main role is to allow wingers and central mids to bomb forward.

Yep, an embarrassing loss at home and an unexciting draw.

Firmino will score but in terms of involvement their play is geared towards getting wingers and central mids to score.

This is why Mane, Coutinho and Lallana are involved in around a third of all goals and Firmino a fifth.

I really think the answer should be Mane or Cout. Mane if you can afford, Cout if the budget doesn't quite stretch, and both if you are sticking with 3-5-2.

I just think when it comes to FPL consistency and goal involvement, there are the best two, based on the hope the Cout is ramping up to the form he showed in the first half of the season.

Was a happy Mané owner pre AFCON and would happily have him back. However. With Liverpool, when they've been firing, pts have always been shared - ergo i will probably go with Firm or Cout in GW28 if it returns back to the way it was for best value. More potential returns saving 1.0m and being able to upgrade Costa > Kane for example IMO.

chances are 4 prem sides will have cup semis that weekend so potentially 8 clubs could blank the weekend hence reduced options for DGW for many sides.

Only one of the top 7 in the PL (Chelsea or United) are likely to have a DGW34 if Arsenal, City and Spurs make cup semi's. Not very appealing.

Arsenal, City and either United or Southampton will have a third game to be arranged if that happens however, so there maybe a second attractive DGW somewhere else.

Scout Pick Community Champion Lottery – Gameweek 26

Once again we are on the look out for a champion to represent the community to take on the Scout Picks and win the chance of a prize.

If you want to take part please email your FFS name and FPL ID number to community@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk .

The champion will then be selected at random shortly after the deadline of 9am tomorrow (Wednesday) and then be asked to submit their XI by Friday 12noon by emailing me at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

We only need 11 picks and please be mindful of the 84m budget. There’s no captain in the picks either and please stick to a designated FPL formation, including no more than three players from one team. No captain or chips will be applied.

At the end of the season the champion who beats the picks by the highest margin will win a £100 Amazon voucher.

The champion will be revealed in a midweek Scout Squad article on Tuesday, which will outline our initial thinking around the picks. Our and the champions picks will be revealed as usual the day before the first match of the Gameweek.

Should the community “Champion” fail to provide an initial or final Scout Pick selection, then an “Assistant Manager” chosen by us, will gain control of the selection to represent the community for the Gameweek in question.

My team currently, no FT but is there anything i need to do

    Jaku (Cech)
Mccauley - Alonso - Baines - Pieters (Amat)
Lallana - Phillips - Alli - Antonio (Capoue)
    Costa - Kane (Ibra)

Plus when should i wildcard, need to use it asap

Looks decent currently. Any money in the bank? Going forward may want to think about Sanchez after GW28 - he's essential IMO, but probably difficult with your front 3. Also upgrade Amat for a starter prior to GW28 is worth considering.

Seen a few teams with no Chelsea attack. Although they blank in 28 they are still good for picks in the long term.

Is it okay to go without Costa or Hazard this weekend and short term future?

If ML rivals have one or both of them does this alter your opinions on them?

A question for the Scoutcast Jonty, as I won't be on later:

With Man U's congested fixture schedule, and blanks in GW26 and GW28, can we afford to sell Ibra and ignore him for the next few weeks, or is the risk of not captaining him for GW27 too great?

Cheers! I was looking at a bit forward line Hokey Cokey and taking a couple of points hits. However, I am starting to think that just avoiding Ibra means I can stick with 3-5-2, double up on the Pool mids and save an FT to have 2 in GW29.

Any reason not to bring in Mane and Firmino for Mkhi and Sanchez in the below team?

    Heaton
    Alonso - Holebas - Brunt
    Mkhitaryan* - Sanchez* - Alli - Sigurdsson - Phillips

    Pickford - Ibra* - Mawson - Amat

I may even bring in Coleman for Amat and bench Crouch too.
