Arsenal were 8 points clear of City with 9 games remaining (City had a game in hand).

City have won the league with THREE games left to play.

Captain Arteta, pass me the bottle.

Regressed to the mean, basically. Second half of the season they have pretty much been a mid table team at best.

And if you can’t beat this current incarnation of Southampton and concede 3 goals in the process then, frankly, you have absolutely no business winning the Premier League.

They did well for 3/4 of the season. Worst Premier League standard ever. Took City to last 3 games.

Arsenal can finish 13 points behind the leaders.

History won't remember this as a title challenge.

Arsenal lost the league but hasn't lost the respect. Winning the league was far fetched even though there was a period when we thought maybe the chance is real. If these young gunners put all their disappointment away and add 2/3 world class players to the squad I am sure they can push on for the title next season, and the experience would have not done anything bad.

Had the easiest start to the season you could ask for and thrived off the confidence. $500m mostly well spent but they’ll need to spend a lot more. Where’s it all coming from?

Bit harsh, innit? He's a bit one-dimensional but if Antony can command $100M, surely Barnes at around a third that is a bargain.

There are a few mid-table teams he wouldn't look out of place in. Bournemouth, Brentford, maybe Brighton. Palace. West Ham. Honestly, even Chelsea.

City can afford to be pickier at the moment, unfortunately. Kane is certainly nowhere near Ibrahimovic's age (and I still loved having Ibra when we did), so maybe he still has about five good years in him.

29 is no longer a concern in modern football - sport science and nutrition has come o leaps and bounds and Harry is a model pro. I reckon he's got another 4-5 years at the very top level before the decline

Absolutely. It’s flooded now, saturated. I see no point to a game where it’s nigh impossible to make headway, which in turn makes the game fun. It’s lost.

At least in UCL fantasy we get to see the team sheets for the first match of a Gameweek to help with selections. Becomes a bit less of a guessing game as a result. Don’t know why FPL can’t adopt a similar policy by moving the deadline closer to the kick off time of the first game.

It’s not impossible, I was sitting at over 1million OR in gameweek 16 and now at 1,300 OR. My best ranking in over 10 years playing.

I literally don’t have any exposure to content creators barring this site, it’s quite easy to avoid all of that rubbish if you really want to. This season isn’t a patch on the difficulty of navigating the COVID ones recently, that was a minefield.

        1. RICICLE

It is impossible. If not, then it’s extremely hard. A million is fine to chill away at, anything larger than that is next to impossible.
This season has been just as hard if not harder than the COVID period imo. Each season is just a write off now, no joy from the game what some ever.
I hardly watch any content creators nowadays, all too much info. It’s just an extremely hard game to enjoy now.

At gameweek 16 i was placed at 2.6M.
I'm currently 62k, which i know is not elite but i consider anything within 100k decent.

Personally i still enjoyed it even early on as i was playing without pressure, but if you're not enjoying it at all then a break from it could be required.

I get this pain, I really do, but from my experience, the World Cup break, and the extra wildcard was the game changer for me, backed United early, and rode my luck. Was something like 3 million at the World Cup, will end up 120 K more or less

There are some success stories like yourself so well done man! The World Cup and extra wildcard just screwed things imo, there’s no consistency, like extra free hits etc that time as well.
The game is flooded now I reckon, it’s just one of those games that “used to be good”.

Further into the season the more stragglers disappear, the less time some people can spend on the game. Attrition will help you rise massively post Christmas. Then its down to paying attention and luck.

I'm nothing of a scientist, but I do find when indulging in Doner kebabs after work in any given week in favour of immersing myself in hardcore fantasy footy research (or just wanting to knock someone out), it does tend to effect my rank a little.

We have direct correlation between doner kebab fueled twitter scrolling and fpl rank with a side effect of someone possibly getting knocked out

Still can’t believe Forest survived this season. Fair play to their manager. I like to see loyalty rewarded when it seems most other clubs change managers after a run of bad results. This shows changing a manager doesn’t always have a positive impact. Look at Southampton, Chelsea, Leeds, Spurs, Everton, Leicester. The only team who improved was Palace and even then I think Vieira was unlucky.

Agreed. The club backed cooper and he did a great job keeping them up

Things were complete chaos at work today, and I missed out on the deadline for the first time this season (arguably at a soooomewhat important time). Making no transfers.

However, my captaincy has somehow been reset in some way and is now on Grealish (who I've never captained before), with Chilwell as vice captain! I've obviously never chosen this myself.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? My season is ruined at least

Difficult to say who's essential as a lot of teams won't have much to play for in gw38. Maybe Utd or Liverpool assets but I'd imagine most of us will already have the best players in their teams already
