Mondogoal – GW38 – £30,000 World Championship Final

Mondogoal £30,000 will crown their “World Champion” this weekend and, in doing so, hand out no less than £30,000 in prizes.

One Mondogoal manager will be £10,000 better off as a result of Sunday’s big World Championship contest, with 170 participants competing for the big prize. The competition promises to be fierce with the likes of “Bigo1”, “Doom” and “Tomp1900” sporting ten entrants in Sunday’s decider.

If you missed out on qualification, there’s still plenty on offer for Sunday’s climax with Mondogoal giving away another £5000 in prizes across an array of contests, plus a signed Liverpool matchball in a special competition that requires just a £1 entry fee.

In addition, Mondogoal’s range of contests won’t end with Sunday’s final whistle. You can take part in contests over the Summer for the cup finals, Copa America, the Women’s World Cup and International Champions Cup. Be sure to check the site for tournament contests to keep yourself sharp for the new season.

If you’re new to Mondogoal but want to get involved for the final day, be sure to check out our strategy guide here, and our interview with top Mondogoal manager, ChrisDAFC here.

FF Scout Gameweek 38 Picks

mg

Motivation is the key factor in our final day selection. For once, both Newcastle and Hull City have a major say in our starting XI, with both sides desperately seeking a win that will preserve their top flight status.

That leads us to snatch both Ahmed Elmohamady and Nikica Jelavic from Steve Bruce’s squad to face United, while we’ve also plundered Magpies duo Paul Dummett and Tim Krul – both look solid defensive bargains, despite woeful recent form. John Carver’s side face West Ham at St James’ Park and we’re tipping them to edge their way to safety with a clean sheet. The Hammers have scored just twice in the last five Gameweeks and their lack of bite could well be Newcastle’s saving grace.

Elsewhere, we’ve chosen to avoid Chelsea’s attack at home to Sunderland, opting for Branislav Ivanovic at the back with his goal threat and promise of a clean sheet. David Silva and Sergio Aguero retain their places in our picks following last weekend’s hauls, while the lure of Romelu Lukaku at home to a stuttering Spurs is enough to earn him a place. The Belgian has been recording strong statistics of late and has earned two goals and an assist in his last three.

A blossoming Leicester City contingent complete our lineup. Nigel Pearson’s back four have recorded an incredible five clean sheets in their last six and we just don’t see QPR spoiling that copybook. We’ve gone with Jeffrey Schlupp’s raiding runs and Robert Huth’s presence at set-plays, while the lively Riyad Mahrez slots into our three-man midfield.

A reminder that you can tweak your Mondogoal lineup right up until 10 minutes before the three o’clock kick-offs on Sunday.

    1. How many hours a week do you spend on/thinking about FPL?

    2. How will you spend those hours each week once tomorrow is gone?

    🙂

    Hi gentlemen,

Had a great GW37, from no.2 now leading the mini-league by a single point! Nerve-wrecking stuff.

Since Hazard is down, which is the ideal midfield to take his place?

My other MID are: Sanchez, Silva, Cambiasso, Walters.

    Cheers!

    1) Captain benteke or vardy?
    2) who is the best hazard replacement? (Can afford anyone but yaya and have Silva + bolasie already)

          • 9 Years

Im taking out Sanchez for Wally, I think either one of Ramsey or Sanchez will be rested.

Some are suggesting Mata/Young but their at risk of position swaps with ADM and Rooney coming back in

Siggy is another as Palace cant really defend

Not much choice unfortunately, Milner maybe? But 3 City players vs Southampton is overkill IMO

Could take a massive punt on a cheaper mid like Sissoko/Miralles/QPR/Mahrez

              Again, complete punt lol.

Wouldnt go for Willian, he doesnt translate well into FPL points. Cuadrado could be good if he starts, and without Fab/Oscar/Haz he could shine. Just not 100% sold on Chelsea attackers this GW :/

With one freebie, I am chasing opponents with 13 and 15 point leads. I need advice on the best transfers to make so that I can stand a chance of winning my minileage.
Opponent with 15 point lead (potentially no goalkeeper for him bt I fear Bolassie)
        Guzan (Speroni)
        Coleman Bertrand Hutton (Wisdom Azpili)
Sanchez Downing Carzola Bolassie (Jones of Burnley)
        Aguero Kane Benteke

The second opponent (potentially no keeper too but I fear Silva)
        De Gea (Jakupovic)
        Moreno Ivanovic Rose (Blacket Azpili)
Sanchez Henderson Cazorla Silva (Cant recall 5th mid)

            Fair enough.
But maybe not as simple as that. Also could be stay defensively strong and try to sneak one. Bruce should know he cannot counter United's firepower with fire.
He has to be intelligent, and his history against United is not great too.

Trying to figure out what to do with the Arsenal players. Wenger said he'd make a couple changes so i assume that means Monreal and Coquelin back in for Gibbs and Cazorla or Wilshere. I expect Giroud to start Wenger will be praying he can score to get a bit of confidence back. MAybe another change like Gabriel, Rosicky or Walcott starting but gotta assume Ozil and Ramsey are safe, and probably Alexis too.

Hi everyone. I need your help!
I’m currently ranked 2nd in a H2H league, where the first three teams are promoted to the next higher H2H league. I need a win in the last GW to secure a top 3 place.

    My team:
    Krul / Foster
Stones, Terry, Hutton / van Aanholt, B.Jones
Cazorla, Sanchez, Hazard, Özil / Henderson
    Vardy, Agüero, Kane
    1 FT, 0.6 ITB

    Opponent:
    Ospina / Fabianski
Bellerin, Ivanovic, Stones / van Aanholt, Moreno
    Sterling, Sanchez, Eriksen, Hazard, Fellaini
    Kane, Benteke, Murray
    2 FT, 1.9 ITB

I think his team is better for this GW...
How would you use the FT? or take a -4 hit ?

I can't speak from experience, but the consensus was overwhelming. Some chap mentioned that his mother had to take 2 weeks off work because of wisdom tooth removal.

It is perhaps dependent on the individual, but Mourinho did make it sound like it was relatively serious.

I think it was the resulting swelling and bruising the operation incurred that was the real problem. Now, I don't know whether this is normal or whether she was the victim of a botch job... 😆

There is no latest. We are left with nothing but the ambiguities of Mourinho's press conference yesterday; a maybe.

eating properly isn't a problem, in fact, I ate healthier for a day or two after I got them out thanks to healthy green shakes and protein supplements...was even able to workout on day 2! everyone is different though, but I imagine a pro athlete will recover faster than most, even through minor infection scares

Are you suggesting he isn't manly enough? Personally I think he is very manly and will prove you wrong.
