The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Fifth Round Draw

With a break in our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition during the midweek fixtures, we spend some time this evening to see who has made it through to fifth round, which takes place during Gameweek 17 this coming weekend.

A reminder that, for this latest contest, there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition the highest scoring manager each round wins a £30 FanDuel credit, with community regular Moin earning this prize after his 65 point Gameweek 15 haul. He next faces msq22 in round five.

The next four highest scoring managers in round four win a £10 FanDuel credit. These will be handed out to Pinky Unites, who scored 63, DJDave1979, who scored 61 along with twobitgooner, and BC1, Bashvilla, Hagop, who all hit the 60 point mark.

The highest placed manager left in the competition is 216 ranked Bacuna Matata, who along with Pink Unites, won a £30 FanDuel voucher for the top highest score back in the third round.

The unfortunate manager to face this early frontrunner to win the competition is lowlifegimpe, who is ranked 337,555.

In a closely fought contest, our only remaining Fantasy Football Scout staff representative, TorresMagic, has made it through to round five, after squeezing past Zambhino10 by just a single point.

The moderator has another tough encounter in store when he takes on Smooth Rossi, who at 6,687 in the overall rankings is more than 7,000 places above him.

Other eye catching ties taking place in round five include Funkyav’s clash with Big Phil Soccer Team and Cobberlsnz taking on Bash Villa, who incidentally sent me packing back in the first round.

The fourth round results can be found via this link, while the full fifth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Who saw the Watford Everton game?
Ie how jammy where the Holebas assists?

A lot of stuff points to benching Holebas, but who knows if he can snag something going forward, the way Man City defends?

Assists weren't jammy at all. Good crosses

who are you planning to bench him for?

        Alonso Evans Amat.
As you could guess, I'm thinking about starting him over Amat

Not lucky, just poor defending from Everton really - Holebas isn't the worst option especially as City aren't their normal free scoring self.

    Grant Pickford
    Kosc Lovren Holebas Smith Amat
    Sanchez Firmino Eriksen Allen Capoue
    Costa Austin Defoe

1FT with 3.9 ITB, a little stuck for ideas this week was thinking something along the lines of
Defoe to Kane? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks guys

Diego Costa drinking beer, dancing, having fun and in form 🙂 that's it I'm captaining him over Kane. Anyone else with me?

Sunderland did a pretty decent job of parking the bus at Anfield, I'm presuming they may employ the same tactic against Chelsea.

Yes he has the form but he does not score more than a goal and not enough bps.....and with 40% with kane as a captain u might see red arrows if he scores a brace

...and with 40% captaining Kane you'll gain ground on all of them if Costa outscores Kane.

The effective ownership argument is ridiculous, really.

    Heaton - Pickford

Definitely, Firmino has looked awful the last two games.

Payet on all set pieces and a BP magnet, also a massive confidence player and second half against Liverpool he looked an entirely different player to the one against Arsenal last weekend.

I'm a big believer in stashing cash until second WC so Firmino will regrettably be shifted from my side.

    Sanchez - *Firmino* - Eriksen - Siggy - Allen

Up to £9.3m to spend - my choices are:

    A) Walcott - double up on ARS for their fixtures, but likely to be rotated over Xmas
    B) Lallana - He's a spark that reignites Pool, but doesn't deliver FF points quite the same way
    C) Payet - Assist machine, WHM fixtures look good, horrifically inconsistent

    Any suggestions?

So three weeks ago I did Sterling (who was doing, and had done, nothing) > Coutinho (who I captained and got injured, giving me 2pts and lose of 0.3m in the process) > to Siggy (for his two pointer) > Hazard (who I captained for 6pts, whilst Siggy pilled in with 13pts)

Anyone else get these runs of just one position that you keep making transfers on and they all turn into turds?

Yes, I know I shouldn't have ditched Siggy, but I was more scared of not having Hazard. If only I'd done Firmino > Hazard 😮

This season is all about not chasing last week's points. Good players are playing consistently well over a 5 week period. I like:

Pickford (Cheap GK), Alonso, Hazard, Sigurdsson, Sanchez, Costa, Kane, Defoe.

Like it. You should upgrade the defence - could absolutely kill it in the second half of this season with your team value (e.g. get Pickford, get Alonso)

Eriksen to Walcott in a couple of weeks would also be a good move.
