FFS Cup

FFS Cups – Results and Fifth Round Draws

Our two Premier League cup competitions have reached the last 32 stage – time to take a look at the some of the key Round Five encounters.

Our open-to-all cup’s only former winner, Mark, marches on, after seeing off What Divock?! to set up an encounter with 22,229th-ranked hishamkmr. With a 468 rank, Mark looks the favourite to proceed into the sixth round.

Another manager to draw the short straw and face a top 500 manager is the 21,317-placed Not Much Klopp, who takes on 339-ranked NUFC Fifer -the contest’s highest remaining manager.

Among the other eye-catching ties is the contest between Bake Baines on toast and My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg), who along with Mark is another representative of our live Hall of Fame Top Ten.

Peter’s 817 rank puts him in the driving seat for this encounter, given his opponent is 89,964 places below him.

The full Fifth Round draw can be found here.

At 88th in the world Pukka is the highest-placed remaining competitor in the Members Cup and takes on the 57,394th-ranked rogerbarton in the last 32.

Hana, who is 106 in the world, defeated Fenghh, the conqueror of former winner Trigg in Round Two, and next takes on Choppers13, who is another highly-placed manager, with a rank of 1,242.

Elsewhere, Round Four’s community writers derby saw Kryten emerge victorious over TopMarx. His reward is a match-up with Tramp, who at 70,119 is 53,496 places behind him.

De Ennet, who is 15,780 in the rankings, beat RoysCallerAnne and takes on another community regular in the next round, the 56,691-placed Rossendale Rover.

The full Fifth Round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes, click this link.

    Nyom -> Rojo worth a -4?

Rojo has two dgw coming up, and also gives me a stronger bench for gw37 bb (Nyom has Chelsea and City)

Would mean benching Holgate this week.

          23 in 73 isn't bad. He's a massive threat when he plays.

They should have adequate back-up for him, that's the problem.

the fact is he is fit enough to play 1 third of a full season at most. they dont need adequate back up, they need to get rid.

I have an almost identical transfer adventure.

Last week I took a -8 to bring in Bailly and Hennessey for Foster (blank GW 34, Heaton has a poor fixture, neither had good GW 33 fixtures whereas Hennes did, on paper) and Brunt.

I already own Valencia and have a FT this week to evolve Origi into Ibra.

I think we may end up with the exact same DGW'ers almost. Keen to get rid of Brunt as he is taking up 5.1m, and Grant as Butland may play the rest (or at least most of) the rest of the season. Feel like taking a -8 on a DGW is only really taking a -4.

Will give me Hennessey, Valencia, Bailly, Zaha and Ibra as DGW'ers for GW34.

A lot depends on tonight game in europa league, but whatever happens tonight(bar injurie) i really think that Ibra will play both games from start.
I really can't see him benched in Burnley game. Burnley will probably play ultra defansivly and United will need Ibra's physical presence to break that defence. Rashford and Lingard are pacey players that need space and Burnley won't give them any.

I could see Ibra beeing benched in City game because Mou could opt for same tactic as against Chealsea but with history between Pep and Ibra i'm sure he'll insist that he plays and that he will.

Could Ibra play 4 games in 10, if we also include GW35? I think there's enough doubt there for me to not invest, however I 100% appreciate your point of view - good post mate 🙂

theres nothing like a bit of confirmation bias to make your decision to get ibra more comfortable.

thats all im seeing on here lately

we have no idea how tired ibra is, we have no idea just how much he will prioritise the europa league or how many games Valencia can play or whether he now prefers the team he put put against chelsea

      1. Rossonero
        • 9 Years
        7 years, 20 days ago

Like i wrote up to Rhinos, point of this place is to take a best guess, ofcourso non of us know but taking an educated guess is the best we can do.

I don't buy the "tired" Ibra, he had 3 weeks rest recently, i think it was purely tactical that he was benched but because of his large ego they went with the "tired" story. But that is just my guess.

ok fair enough, but from that reasoning you really have to conclude that there is a big chance it will be rashford and lingaard again for city because they play in a very similar counter attacking style to chelsea and for me it seemed to be joses favourite performance of the season thus far, you cant really say he will pick ibra because of his realtionship with pep, that will mean absolutely nothing to jose

          1. Rossonero
            • 9 Years
            7 years, 20 days ago

I said that it is possible, but, again, guessing that Ibra's ego is to big that he misses 2 big derbys in 10 days, especially the Manchester derby in which he could get back to Pep. In any case, i think he will play at least 30mins

Early GW36 WC template, any advice on tweaking?

Leaves me 0 itb so will downgrade Redmond to Ward-P if I need to make up a few 0.1's..

    Pickford/Jaku

    Alonso - Stephens - Jones - Smith - Holgate

    Sanchez - Hazard - Alli - Sane - Redmond

    Gabbiadini - Costa - Kane

Gives me 12 DGW'ers with the other 3 on easy(ish) fixtures and fairly nailed

Harder than I thought it would be to get a good 13/14 playing...

Think that 2 Chelsea will be enough - Haz the man in form, then one of Alonso or Costa I'd say. As a replacement up top, I suspect Jesus will be your man there, allowing you splash more cash around the team (Redmond could become Son or even Eriksen if you can reach there, for example).

      1. jamie1972
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 20 days ago

Only thinking of Costa ahead of Jesus as he's less chance of rotation, City will be half on the beach and you'd imagine Chelsea will still be fighting Tottenham off for the title.

Jesus for Costa very much an option though yes

Jesus will play regularly as soon as he is fit. Costa is badly out of form.

hmmmm, Costa > Jesus creates Redmond > Son...

Still a gamble mind, the outgoings are nailed, but in either in poor form/not great, whereas the incomings both rotation risks, yet better players/in good form....

That's a good bench, I doubt you will have a stronger bench in GW37 even if you still have WC, plus it gives you the option of using TC chip in GW37 if you've still got it.

Selling Lukaku this week could be disastrous against a leaky West Ham. Even we managed to score 2 against them.

I remember last season when I wildcarded ro bring in DGW players and it fell on its arse when the likes of Alli out performed them.

Hard to resist a DGW trannie tho

not sure he will play both games for 90 min
            mikhi/ibra/rashford/martial will also get mins

If he was going to play both for 90mins it would be a no brainer. Hence the punt.

If he doesn't start tonight I'd pick him

Hi all. RMT and take hit/save advice post :).

    HENN / Pick
Vert BARRAGONEAFTER34 Holgate / Yoshi Stones
    Eriksen Alli Sanchez ZAHAHA(C) Hazard
    TEKKERS Kaku / Anichebe

Did Kun -> Tekkers whilst inebriated on Saturday evening. Gut says Zaha armband so I'm gna risk it, chasing in MLs, but will probably be incorrect :D.

    Best approach here:
    A) Vertonghen -> Bailly/Rojo -4 (allows for Kaku -> Kane in 35)
    B) Eriksen -> Mkhi -4 (puntius maximus, but another route to Kane)
    C) G2G, and do A + Kane next week.

    Thanks 🙂

Cheers man, I'm thinking that way.

Bailly or Rojo? Haha. Such a boring -4 but worth it for some United cover for the double imo.

I'm just outside top 100k, not a good season but still want to limit the damage on this front.
ML's that I still have an interest it it's pretty close and most will probably opt for Ibra and go without Hazard. I think Hazard is going to score more though than Ibra in the run in.
