The ScoutCast Episode 265 – Difference

This week the ScoutCast crew are determined to bust the myth that they share identical strategies.

Long-term maverick Luke returns to reveal his freshly Wildcarded team which bravely went into Gameweek 2 without Manchester City’s hat-trick hero Sergio Aguero and last season’s points-scoring sensation Mohamed Salah.

In stark contrast, Az is continuing his march up the rankings thanks to his faith in this premium pair, and his resolve in resisting broadsheet tittle-tattle hinting that the Argentinian would be dropped.

David is also beating a different drum and keen to explain the reasons behind his chequered FPL history and how his fortunes already look better this time around.

That leaves me as the only dullard representative, armed with a bunch of ownership statistics, a goals imminent table and a dubious ‘camping’ excuse to explain my recent poor captaincy decision.

Our differing views across a range of key issues facing Fantasy Premier League manages ahead of Gameweek 3 are aired.

Our assessment of Chelsea and Arsenal assets ahead of their favourable fixtures is top of our list. And we also ponder whether Spurs’ players can compete as assets this season and indulge in some bargain hunting up front.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

if its not broken. dont fix it...

next week is going to be tricky. whether to drop liverpool assets for chelsea/man city or not! 😮

Only have two Pool and will keep two Pool.

My question next week will be whether to downgrade Salah for Mané in order to upgrade Bilva to Hazard, or just keep Salah and downgrade Bilva to Pedro.

Mane to Hazard is pretty much locked for me

Dont know what to do with Salah though. Getting Sterling for him allows Mendy for Kabasele.

Why not keep one of Salah/Mané?

Tou could keep Mané, get Hazard for Salah and still afford Mendy for Kabasele...

Pool attack does well against top sides.
      Citeh rotation?

They will probably do well but I feel number of chances will somewhat reduce and with so many scorers/assisters in team, none of them will probably score high

Yeah Citeh rotation is a headache but not having any attacker might backfire during that period, very easy games.

I agree. I just can't see letting the 3 go (Maybe Roberton) when they are scoring so highly

I'm in a similar dilemma. Mane > Hazard was my plan, but if Mane scores again this GW he'll get another couple of rises out of it so might have to do Robbo > Alonso instead.

It it an improvement to change my keepers from Fabianski + Foster to Ederson + 4.0?

I dont see west ham keeping any clean sheets for a while and not able to afford any of the man city mids so why not get ederson as a cheap route into their cs potential?

Are we quite confident that D.Silva is nailed at least until KDB is back? They need those two creative playmakers in midfield so surely D.Silva and B.Silva/Gundogun would be the two? Plus he seems to be crucial in both the 4-1-4-1 and 5 at the back formations.

Id say Ederson, Fernandino and possibly now Mendy are about as nailed as you could get in the City team. But rather than 'nailed' then, would you suggest D.Silva will start at least 4 from the next 5?

Anyone who picks City players has to suck up the frequent rotations - especially in midfield - and have faith that they are going to outscore just about everyone else at the end of the season anyway. The only players who are close to irreplaceable and will get the most game time (injuries apart) are Ederson, the 2 wingbacks, Fernandinho and Aguero.

I honestly think Pep is aiming to break last season's points record and City will likely prove to the Invincibles this season, so anyone you pick will haul bigly, but it will be mightily painful seeing your expensive picks dropped, as I did with sterling and Mahrez last weekend.

    On WC, thoughts much appreciated!

    Hennessey - Hamer
    TAA - Schlupp - Mendy - Wan-Bissaka - Bennett
    Mkhi - Salah - Richarlison - Mane - 4.5
    Ings - Aubameyang - Aguero

Heavy on Crystal Palace def but worth a punt given their upcoming fixtures. Could remove Aubameyang or Mkhi to improve elsewhere, but not sure who to ditch and would prefer both

With a wildcard squad you really want at least 13 of your squad to be nailed week in week out. In your defence I'm not seeing a guaranteed 3 starters every GW.

Question guys, I have made three transfers on monday, so I got so far -8 points for the week. I am planning to do a couple of more transfers, so i am considering a wildcard. But if I take the wildcard now, will I still lose those 8 points for transfers made on monday?

Got 1 FT and 0.8 itb. Worth doing shaw>luiz?

    Patricio,
    Shaw, mendy, robertson
    Salah, mane, richarlison, moura
    Zaha, aguero, king

    Stekelenberg, cairney, peltier, awb

I would wait til presser to be 'shaw' that he's out and then yes. Luiz got great fixtures so should get some clean sheets and potentially you could bag a free kick.

Regardless of other scorers for Liverpool, I guess Firmino should score big this GW. He is due his share of goals and assists. A successful PL campaign is marked by multiple big scorers.

Ha, I don't. He'll score okay, but Klopp has tweaked the tactics to have Bobby play deeper. He does sterling teamwork to allow more space for Salah and Mane, but I don't think he will get his "share" this season.

theres no reason why he wont. over the season him and mane will finish within 20pts of each other. salah wont be as far ahead either

Yeh, I've got him all ready to step off my bench, but after last weekend's display, I expect him to be dropped for Lossl. Make sure your other keeper is good to go.

Plus I'm on a wildcard and have replaced Bennett with Stankovic. Not asking for another goal but keeping Cardiff at bay would be nice.

Hello all, repost as bottomed earlier today.

Would appreciate any thoughts on this WC draft. 2 premiums for each of def, mid and fwd but a couple of really budget options to fill out the team.

    Fabri, Hamer
    Mendy, Robbo, Cook, Duffy, AWB
    Salah, Mane, Richarlison, Fraser, 4.5
    Kun, Auba, Ings

Plan would be to stick with this for 2 weeks and then decide if a premium option should go.

Don’t know why people are going with Fabri and I support them, he is a poor keeper but his positioning is all wrong. Yes he makes saves but he is a liability and it wouldn’t surprise me if Rico gets a start this week. Avoid I would say

I have not watched him to be honest, but saw 15 saves in 2 games played. Appreciate the input and will definitely consider other gk options
