Martial returns for United as Fraser is benched again

The final match of Gameweek 20 takes place at Old Trafford this afternoon, as Manchester United take on Bournemouth. Kick-off is at 16:30 GMT.

Anthony Martial has recovered from illness to reclaim his place on the left of United’s front three, while Paul Pogba makes his third successive start under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Martial takes the place of Juan Mata, while Solskjaer has made three other alterations to the side that beat Huddersfield Town 3-1 on Boxing Day.

Ashley Young replaces right-back Diego Dalot, Eric Bailly ousts Phil Jones at centre-half and Ander Herrera is in for Fred in midfield.

Having been beaten 5-0 by Spurs in Gameweek 19, Eddie Howe has made three changes to his side and is deploying a wing-back system for the trip to Manchester.

Diego Rico and Jordon Ibe come into the side on the flanks, with Joshua King joining Callum Wilson in attack.

Ryan Fraser is benched for the second time in three Gameweeks, meanwhile.

Jefferson Lerma – who sits on nine yellow cards – and the injured Simon Francis are the other two players dropping out.

    Is it worth using the WC to make four transfers or shall I take the hit and save it for the inevitable DGWs?

      I’m not an advocate of using the WC for DGW’s because then you have to remove all the deadwood after it and DGW’s are usually flops anyway.

          I’m not advocating it as people will disagree with me and say it’s ‘bad advice’. However i have WC’d, i know the risks, but with careful planning navigating the BGW’s & DGW’s best you can, should be fine. I’m happy with my choice. But it is your choice. If it was me, i would. Ultimately your choice thogh dude 🙂

        Agree. wild card should be used with a more long term outlook.
        4 changes isn't enough to justify unless it is a user it or lose it situation. I have taken 12 point hit at least one this season already.

        If you can spread the pain a bit and manage another week without Salah then do.

          I probably could be concerned about either a) him making hay against a fragile City defence (I'd be replacing Sane who I'm not even convinced will play!) or b) price rises making the switches impossible.

        It is an amazing team as anyway said.
        Defence is budget but not bad. Upgrade Zab to a reliable Pool defender.

        Sacrifice one of the mids for a bench fodder to find it ( you can't play 5 mid and 3 fwd so alot of money to return zero points if you don't)

        Upgrade Sterling/Son to Salah if you can. Switch another to Pogba maybe.

      Money goes a long way, but his fixtures are so good and has returns in his last 9 games of 10, even though only two were double didget

      Pogba with an 18 today which could easily have been a 23 or more if not for the goalie barely getting a touch and pushing it onto the post. If you don’t have him, you better do it quickly. Looks to be the best player on any pitch right now. Career revived.

      This feels too good to be true and can it be sustained?

      Will the players down tools again once the transfer window closes and their jobs are safe or is it just that these last 3 crap teams United have played have flattered to deceive?

      Anyway it is great to have a good buzz around United again because it has been barren few years and had even dulled the love for the game for a die hard fan like me.
