Captain Poll

Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) is expected to be the most popular captain going into Gameweek 1 of the new season.

His Liverpool side play host to newly-promoted Norwich City on Friday night.

The Canaries were particularly leaky at the back last season, even as they won promotion from the Championship.

Their goals conceded tally (57) in 2018/19 was the worst inside the top four and only four teams recorded worse than that in the division’s top 12.

By contrast, Manchester City were the only Premier League team (57) to score more than Liverpool in home matche last year (55).

With Sadio Mané‘s (£11.5m) involvement in Gameweek 1 hard to guarantee, Salah seems to be the obvious candidate to benefit from such an appealing opening fixture.

Raheem Sterling (£12.0m) could be an interesting difference-maker as Manchester City prepare for a trip to West Ham.

The Hammers could be without Mark Noble (£5.0m) and Lukasz Fabianski (£5.0m) in Gameweek 1 which would make them more vulnerable than they already are to the defending champions.

Manchester City scored four times on their last league visit to the London Stadium, with Sterling notching a goal and two assists.

The England international will also be in good spirits after scoring against Liverpool in the Community Shield final on Sunday.

Harry Kane (£11.0m) is also pulling some support in ahead of Gameweek 1 as Spurs prepare for a meeting with Aston Villa.

No forward had more shots on target than Kane last season.

You can now vote in the latest captain poll below, which will be used in our Captain Sensible analysis article later in the week.

I'm just happy there are so many options :).. Those 4 plus Ings, Adams, Wesley for just 0.5 less.. And Chelsea /Kean/Haller/Jiminez for just 0.5 to 1 million more. So can literally start with anyone at 6.5 and swap, downgrade or upgrade to anyone if it all goes wrong. My preference is King and Jota for now

Thinking at some point I'll maybe drop Salah to Mane then use my 1.5 itb to upgrade Lamela to a 7.5 in form; Martial, Moura, Pulisic , etc.

Brighton are looking at a new striker.. And I love Ings but his fixtures are drafted pretty horribly. No juicy home games in the first 8 due to tough opposition and the easier teams are away from home. Makes the fixture run distinctly average. Also there is just Wesley as a safety net at his price.. If you start at 6.5 there are so many more options. From your mids I'd pick Trossard since he is nailed.. Though I'd rather a punt on Robinson +0.5 for the first 3 and then swap if needed

currently pope and a 4.0. just always felt in the past there was a best, rather than a least bad. we all seem to be looking at burnley 2 or 3 years ago and ignoring heaton getting 56pts in the second half of last season (cant blame joe hart or the europa league there). and that's even ignoring that pope himself has been injured for an entire season. burnley seem to have changed due to pressures of relatively negative clubs who establish themselves in the league for a few years eventually having to try and become more progressive

Fair. I see a lot of save points with heaton. Most reliable save point keeper out there. Those fixtures look a nice combination of save point and CS potential for me but of course this is not going to be an exact science just yet

There are 3 cheap mids playing OOP at striker but I admit the 6.5m striker bracket is an absolute lottery

I shouldn't ask this as you told me about Aubam and now my head hurts. But... Talk to me apart Martial my fellow soldier

Lol. Martial. OOP striker/Left wing 50/50. Nailed on in rejuvinated united team. First two fixtures may look tough but it’s vs a leaky Chelsea (martial scored 2 in this fixture last year) and a knackered European wolves. Then it’s easy fixtures from then. Insane PPG ever since he has been in PL

Only bagged 1 vs Leeds in preseason though right? Reckon Greenwood might get a run out at some point and Mandzukic may be signing. Lingard and mata also pose threats if Rash up top. Hmmmmm I'm not sold yet...

5 OOP strikers if you include the big 2. Just get 3x4.5 forwards and charge forth with flying wingbacks and OOP strikers 😉

Looks good. Can't decide on Barkley myself (currently in and out every other day) but he could be a great pick.

Yeah. I think Spurs will have 3 cs in first 5 matches. might get lucky and get an assist from him somewhere

Is this a meme account or something? Half an hour ago you posted that you were going without Salah, and earlier this morning you "100% guaranteed" to some guy you weren't going to log in again before the deadline

Only just taken a close look at Leicester fixtures. Yuck.
Are they good enough to start with an attacker?

    B) Deeney, KDB, Richarlison/Siggy

Who is the best 4.5 midfielder to sit permanently on the bench and not loose any value?

A or B stronger? Already have Sterling so unsure about doubling up on City mids in B

    A) Kane & Barkley & Rotating 4.5 CBs
    B) Jota & KDB & Digne

      B. Easy swap from KDB to Pepe/Son later.

    Repost.

    Hi all,
    something a slightly different :). U like:

    A:
    De Gea, button

    robbo, digne, (dunk, landstom, rico)

    zaha, salah, sterling, perez (dond)

    haller, wilson, kean

3-4-3 with rotating with dunky, rico and landstrom. Zaha only if he moves to everton, otherwise i find someone else. A bit punty with the forwards, but could be interesting. Think Kean can be really good, and as an Evertonian I like it!

First RMT...opted to go big up top and go without the big guns in midfield. What does everybody think?

    Lloris/Button
    VVD/Zinchenko/Boly/Kelly/Lundstra
    B Silva/Siggy/L Moura/Perez/Dendoncker
    Kane/Kun/Wilson

    OR
    B) KDB + King + Walker

Those playing 3 up top who are they??

    I'm on.

    Wilson/Vardy/Jota
    (have Perez)
Thinking on downgrading Vardy to change Barkley out coz I just don't trust him.

Who would u go for instead of Vardy?
