Tottenham Hotspur players are causing some Fantasy Premier League managers dilemmas at the start of the season.

They have a favourable opening fixture at home to Aston Villa but with a trip to Manchester City in Gameweek 2 and relatively expensive price points, their assets could be the ones to miss out on those initial teams.

However, there are some encouraging reasons to own some of Mauricio Pochettino’s players at the start of the new campaign.

In this article we assess Spurs’ defensive and attacking potential based on last season’s underlying statistics.

As this analysis uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Anyone think Maupay will be the best of the 6m strikers?
I'd suspect he'll be better than Wesley and Adams but not so sure he'll be better than Ings. Anyone else I'm overlooking?

    Any thoughts on this:

    Ryan
    TAA - VVD - Digne

    Ings - Jota

Subs: Button - Dunk - Lund - Greenwood

      • 15 Years
      7 years, 1 month ago

We basically have the same team, except you have Ings and De bruyne and I have Filson and Fraser. I really like Danny, but Bournemouth attackers are hard to pass up with their fixtures. What was the decision making there?

    3. Livinginapool

I think they're all becoming pretty template now!

Only just decided to put De Bruyne in. I think there'll be a few City goals in the early games, and looking at value, I think he could be one of the top scorers this season. I'm more uncertain about the other teams, including Bournemouth. You never quite know. Tbf their fixtures are great.

Earlier today I had Fraser and Moura in my team. So, well, thinking's transient in pre-season. Hence, looking at the team so late!

      1. Riska
        • 15 Years
        7 years, 1 month ago

I've probably made more changes in the past 24 hours than I have the past 24 days. It's interesting though because actually the Fraser/Wilson combo wasn't my biggest concern: it's Perez/Barkley. Also full disclosure I have Heaton instead of Ryan and Wood instead of Jota but I believe the thinking is the same. I fully expect my GW2 switch would be Wood, I just can't ignore his pre-season.

    How about this team guys?

    Pope Heaton

Robertson Digne (Cathcart Montoya Diop) (rotating)

    Wilson Ings Wesley

Whether to get KDB or not alongside Salah and Sterling ? On the positive gets 9.5 m place in team for possible transfer to Son or Pépé in one move. On the negative would need to weaken defence (TAA VVD in both defences)

    So choice really

    A Digne Walker Fraser or
    B Coleman Dunk/4.5 KDB

    1. Shoplifters United
      • 13 Years

B, for the reason you mention (flexibility to move to Pepe, Son). I also like the double City attack for GW1 (if not the entire campaign).

Fraser or Moura? Moura could run riot GW1, potential band wagon there. Fraser seems expensive at 7.5, considering the caliber of alternatives available for 6-7.5. Thoughts?

Good point, however Fraser could easily get two assists over the next two game weeks and more of a longer/safer season keeper.

      1. Javra
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 1 month ago

I agree, Fraser could well be the better long term pick, but at 7.5 you can buy the likes of Martial, whichever Chelsea mid shines, as well as a couple of others for only 0.5 more. They may well be much more exciting options at that price. Hence why the explosiveness of Moura tempts me.

    5. Hulk Smash
      • 11 Years
      7 years, 1 month ago

I prefer Wilson over Fraser. Moura could do very well in the first couple but looks likely to drop out as soon as Son returns from suspension so you're probably earmarking a transfer for getting rid of Moura.

      1. Javra
        • 14 Years

With Alli injured and Son suspended, also uncertainity over Eriksen’s departure, I think Moura’s looking good for starts.

I’m looking at the best mid/fwd/fwd combo for 21m.

I’m not a fan of double Bournemouth with that gw3 fixture. With Moura and Origi I’m essentially backing myself into a corner with planned transfers in the first few weeks.
