Mitrovic and Cairney return for Fulham as Wilson leads Newcastle attack

Scott Parker has recalled Aleksandar Mitrovic (£5.5m) and Tom Cairney (£5.3m) to the Fulham line-up for their Gameweek 14 trip to Newcastle.

The two players have not started a match together since Gameweek 8 although the Cottagers have improved in their absence, picking up a win and two draws since Gameweek 9.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid (£5.3m) and Ruben Loftus-Cheek (£5.9m) are the men to make way as Ivan Cavaleiro (£5.3m) returns to the flanks of attacking midfield.

Accordingly, Mitrović and Cairney have reclaimed their centre-forward and number 10 roles respectively.

The main Fantasy Premier League interest tonight, of course, is in Callum Wilson (£6.6m), currently owned by 17.4% of managers worldwide.

The former Bournemouth man has averaged six points per game since returning from injury, although Fulham’s defence has improved in that time, conceding just three goals against Manchester City and Liverpool combined.

      I'm not caught up yet, but I have made maybe my worst captain fail ever. Stayed up late trying to figure out my team, but fell asleep -- deadline here in the US is 4am -- and left it on Callum Wilson.

        I've got my wildcard and just can't see a way of navigating through GW18 and having a good squad in GW19 without using FH in 18.

        I must admit I’m still confused what to do. My problem is that apart from Kane /Son and a few City players I can’t see how to get a big FH score in 18. And chips in 19 means a WC which I don’t want to do yet- bench boost means unnecessary good players on the bench for weeks to come. In the next 4 weeks I can do 6 for the blank and 9 doubles without chips and save them for the FA cup blanks. May massively backfire of course

          You don't want any GW18 defenders in your XV if you plan to BB DGW 19. That's the biggest reason to FH 18 IMO.

          You could TC (Salah?) in 19 instead of BB, which would allow you to save the FH as well. But when are you going to use the FH and BB to beat everyone who are using them 18-19?

            Thanks Karhumies. Yes, TC Salah sounds like a good idea. Will think about this.

            I might have this wrong but there’s usually a lucrative double due to FA cup which I’m hoping to use with a combination of chips. I think the benefit of WC /BB later on is that you don’t have weeks of an overloaded bench

              If your bench is West Ham, Burnley and Southampton heavy then something like Romeu/Mendy is 4.5 so nothing extra, Taylor is 4.4 so 0.4 extra, Coufal is 0.6 so 4.6 extra, then second GK McCarthy/Meslier/Areola/Johnstone is 4.5-4.6 so 0.5-0.6 extra. That's actually super cheap for a DGW bench. Dropping the 2nd GK is 1 FT, and then you don't mind keeping the others long term. If you upgrade 5th mid Romeu/Mendy into Soucek/Lookman, that's more essential to downgrade later on.

                  I got Soucek for this GW. Reluctantly, I just downgraded Grealish to Soucek for next GW, even though Villa are going vs Palace. Ings getting injured threw a wrench into my plans, and I decided to upgrade to Firmino rather than downgrade to Adams. This choice now makes my team very tight on money.

      So glad I did kdb-> salah for this game week.
      I've always hated picking salah over the last few years...
      I've thought he is overpriced, is the lazy option, and there is better value elsewhere.

      I was cool with the benching, as I had not captained him, and had soucek on the bench.

      today, I had a warm fuzzy feeling watching salah play.
      I think I have finally fallen for his charms . I've been seduced.

      now, how to get robbo back....
