Az chats to Lateriser and Zophar ahead of FPL Gameweek 16

In the absence of both Andy and Mark, Az takes the reins in this week’s Premium Members video, which is a laid-back look at the key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points ahead of Gameweek 16.

He is joined by Lateriser and Zophar, and this video sees all three managers nestled snugly inside the top 100k.

The trio discuss some of the key questions ahead of the deadline, including which Manchester United and West Ham assets to consider and their preferences within the Manchester City midfield.

They also look at the fixture swings for various teams, and we check out their teams ahead of Friday’s deadline, with two of the managers considering a captaincy that isn’t Mohamed Salah (£13.1m)…

    Hey guys,
Which of these plans sounds better

    1) Sanchez, Son > De Gea, Bilva (-4)

    2) Son > Bowen. No hit, no GK for GW16 and no City mid, but leaves enough itb to do Wilson > Ronaldo in GW17

Vardy + Raphihna to Ronaldo + Fred for a -4?

I was going to wait till next week but I have some doubts about Vardy's minutes after playing the full 90 mins vs Napoli

Not great I know but Fred is more of a 4.9 bench fodder who gets game time most weeks and allows me to buy CR7

Any suggestions on who else I could consider for up to 5.6? I will be benching them pretty often

I'd keep as is, unless something comes out of press conferences (Jota was allegedly missing from training). In which case I'd move Son to Bowen or Mount. Would have suggested Bernardo as first pick but you've already got Gundo.

Would you WC this team or save it for GW20, nearer the blanks (and doubles?), Chelsea/Everton etc fixture shift, and after a bit more United/Spurs data collection? I have already taken a hit.

If you would save, what would you do with it this week?
Not hugely keen on any midfield options, but I could try out Rash, Sanch or Mount, maybe.

      Defo WC

    2. Deulofail
      • 8 Years

      Hmmmm I'm leaning towards not.
      WC20 is very entering. Benefits:

      - Keep Chelsea fullbacks until fixture swing and blank fixtures
      - Move to popular Watford players now (maybe King next week) without having being worried about shifting them to more expensive players when their fixtures and form shifts
      - DCL could be back by then, and his fixtures will be great
      - Could get Wilson with sudden good fixtures
      - Can get Raphinha and/or Bamford having avoided the poor fixtures
      - Can jump on United if Dalot, Rash, Sancho, Bruno look like goers
      - Can react to Spurs covid news and plan accordingly
      - Might have knowledge of the likelihood of doubles in 21-22
      - There could always be more covid disruptions to react to
      - No more suspension tightrope to worry about

Maybe the worst case scenario isn't that bad this week. -8 and Livramento + Sissoko play?

I'm weighing up the options, so now I have to think of why I SHOULD WC this week! 😀

Is Dalot in to rotate with a Livra or to replace him?
I wouldn’t want two cheapies that aren’t nailed but if it’s to replace then sounds like a decent plan.
If Alonso is your second chelsea defender then I would skip. After the next 3gw fixtures stiffen and they have blanks so better to save yourself a defensive transfer

Currently don't have any Chelsea defender so Alonso would be the only one.

Bowen for Raphinha seems solid to me. His fixtures are just so much better.

I'm less high on De Gea. I guess there's upside there, but if Sanchez wasn't suspended and I had a free transfer to burn I don't think it'd even cross my mind to make the switch. So I'm leaning toward pretending Sanchez got 6 saves and conceded 1 this week instead of taking a hit.
