FPL Gameweek 12: Wednesday’s goals, assists, bonus and statistics

The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Wednesday’s matches.

As well as LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points from the day’s FPL action, we’re bringing you a selection of the Opta stats that arrive in our Premium Members Area almost immediately after full-time in each fixture.

Our usual Scout Notes article, which summarises more of the main FPL talking points, notable manager quotes and injury news in extra detail, will follow later.

BRIEF ROUND-UP

Amazon missed their expected delivery of goals as six clean sheets were banked across tonight’s fixtures.

Newcastle United were among the sides shutting out the opposition and are now joint-top for clean sheets (five) in 2022/23, as well as first for fewest goals conceded (nine). Kieran Trippier (£5.7m) took maximum bonus to move first in the FPL defenders’ points table, while Miguel Almiron‘s (£5.3m) scarcely believable form continued as he curled in his fifth goal of the season – that’s more than he has managed in any of his previous seasons with Newcastle, and we’re only in mid-October

An obdurate defence is not what a tired-looking Tottenham Hotspur need this weekend, as Harry Kane‘s (£11.5m) blank-less run finally ended at Old Trafford. A slowly improving Manchester United took all three points and since their season kickstarted in Gameweek 3, only Arsenal have registered more points and no-one has kept more clean sheets (four).

Rotation bit hard for Chelsea and Liverpool, with both managers making five changes apiece. The two sides could only muster one goal between them, a Darwin Nunez (£8.8m) header, and were indebted to their goalkeepers for their respective results: Alisson (£5.4m) saved a Jarrod Bowen (£8.2m) penalty, while the impressive Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.4m) was forced into five saves against Brentford.

Both Alisson and David Raya (£4.5m) have now banked back-to-back double-digit hauls.

And on a night of shut-outs, it was fitting that Southampton – the only club in the league who had conceded in every game before tonight – recorded their first clean sheet of the season.

Would it be unreasonable to transfer Mount out for Foden if I only got him last game?

Chelsea fixtures don’t look amazing by any metric, I don’t know what blank-tinted glasses I was looking through that Mount suddenly looked appealing when I’d never consider him without the blanks

Mount's form is decent and fixtures not that bad. They indicate Chelsea's win potential not Mount's points potential.

Definitely yeah, not arguing that, the problem is Mount&Salah are my only way to back to a city mid and I think I’d rather keep Salah out of those 2

Yeah it's better to correct the mistake sooner than to be stubborn and hold onto a player you don't want.

Foden will considerably outscore Mount in the next 4

        Don't blame you.

I'm likely keeping, but only because no one else in that price range is really any better and I have no other Liverpool assets. If I was WCing I'd probably take him out and spread the change over several other player spots.

All the knee-jerking between useless & essential certainly isn't helping. Glad I went for Darwin instead but Salah should still get some time at CF given the schedule & should get some returns, if not quite as explosively as we're used to

    Hi People, would appreciate feedback

    Have this for weekend
    Ederson
    Cancelo Trippier Doherty
    Zaha Salah Martinelli Bailey
    Kane Mitro Haaland
    Ward Schar Andreas Neco
    1FT, 0.6mil in bank

I reckon Doherty is benched at weekend for Royal - or very likely chance of this

    options
    A) Doherty to White , then Zaha to Saka in 14 with FT
    B) Zaha to Saka directly this week (exact cash)
    C) Kane to Darwin this week ... , Mitro to Jesus next week
    D) Kane to Darwin + Doherty to white/Zouma (-4) , gives cash for Bailey to Saka next week for FT(0,0)

Thats why i currently like D with the -4

It allows me to get a defender for Doherty this week (reckon he is benched)
and get Saka next week , while keeping Zaha and getting double Liverpool attack with Darwin and Salah for Forest

Does the blank make Saka a "new toy"? Its quite simple really - he's playing in the league's second best attack, in great form, and I planned to bring him in this week no matter what

Not scared of Darwin this week?

No because I already have him! Guess I would be a little... but the difference between Zaha/Saka looks bigger than Kane/Darwin to me, and the potential injury (or tightness at least) factors in a bit too.

Who is the best defender for GWs 14-16? Or even without GW15 as could play Castagne that week.

    Arsenal one?
Gomez (But will he keep his place)?
    Maybe Dalot or Perisic?

Yes. Salah is so wide it’s annoying. Got him in and then Jota got injured so he’s out on the wing getting his boots wet.

He’s still getting lots of shots but agreed he’s not as effective when out wide. I think he’ll come good and he’s better option than Kane or KDB for me (already got triple city). You going with just haaland as big hitter?

Kepa feels like he could turn into the Ramsdale that we had at the start of last season. Looking nailed and an absolute steal at 4.5, just not sure its worth spending a precious transfer to get him in. Very jealous of those who do have him though.

Feel like the big choice this week is whether you take the hit for Foden/Saka.

    Zaha to Saka (-4)?

Not clear cut either way imo - just depends how you want to play the game.

I’m a bit irritated at having to waste my WC in 12 and it not going great so I am keen to get near to my planned WC13 team.

Not convinced the hit is worth it though.

No chance I would be selling Zaha for a hit.

    Please help.
Best way to get Saka and Foden in my team in the next two gw?
    Trossard easy out, but then?
I guess i have to keep Salah one gw more against Forest? Or is it a sell anyway?

    A) Trossard+Zaha to Foden+Saka in gw 13

    B) Trossard to Foden/Saka gw13, Salah to the other one gw14 and will then have alot of cash to upgrade maybe Solanke to Kane or other positions.

    C) Trossard out for Foden/Saka and downgrading Pope to Raya/Guaita, so i can make Sinisterra to the other one of Foden/Saka

    Pope, Ward
    Cancelo, Trippier, Guehi, Webster, Justin
    Salah, Martinelli, Zaha, Trossard, Sinisterra
    Haaland, Mitro, Solanke

    2.4 itb

My planned moves are Sterling and Trossard to Foden and Saka -4. This leaves me with 3m itb. Would you upgrade Daka to Darwin/Jesus for a further -4 or do for free in gw14?

Yes, Daka gets rotated / mins managed. Darwin could have a hattrick last night. Jesus probably safer mins wise though. Both explosive playing in teams that score goals

    Which 2 to play:
    A) Dier (NEW)
    B) Trippier (tot)
    C) Andersen (eve)
    D) Zouma (BOU)

On A/B currently but think C/D have better chances at clean sheet. (Bottomed)

Auba sitting in my team is like a fart in a lift and needs expelling right now. But for whom?

    a) Kane
    b) Nunez
    c) Toney

Kane was the plan but Nunez is tempting me.

Kane blocks Trossard > Foden, which I am thinking is more of a priority

Salah didn't pass my eye test last night... Darwin did until he got subbed off.

I don't know what's the Klopp's deal, why he is so stubborn, surely playing your best striker as a RM is not the way to go.
Why not Salah as a right ST, TAA as a RM and Gomez as a RB?

No idea but he looks like a dreadful FPL asset at that price! Fixtures are so good it’s hard to ship

I only watched the first half but pretty sure he had more than one chance (as borne out by the stats) and was in the penalty box a lot. His aim seemed to be out a few times and I agree with the comment below, he was struggling to get through from the wing whereas Nunes and Firmino seemed closer to getting chances of n the centre. Surely Salah and Nunes with Firmino behind and Trent up the wing works?

Watched the 1st half and he had plenty of shots and could’ve done better a couple of times. Got to keep for forest at least but im most likely keeping through World Cup

Moved into Darwin's role 2nd half & was making runs in behind & getting into the box again. Firmino had the slightly better (half) chances, but it didn't look quite as bleak for Salah as some are making out

    Raya Ward
    Cancelo Trippier Gomez White Neco
    Zaha Foden Saka Martinelli Andreas
    Darwin Kane Haaland

Currently sitting on this for WC this week. Any tips? Previously had Dier/Saliba/Toney over Gomez/White/Darwin

Pretty similar team, I'm considering Toney or Jesus over Kane then TAA over Gomez

Bobby looks nailed on until WC with the form he's in and the injuries to Jota and Diaz.

Trossard and Kane to Jesus and Salah for a hit?

Was set on this until the Salah blank last night. Will absolutely captain Haaland if that influences the decision.

I could do trossard and Kane to foden and Darwin

But then it comes down to Kane to Darwin for a hit which I don’t really like

I thought this on WC last week and didn’t start well.

Chelsea fixtures don’t look great and they’re conceding chances but Kepa seems to come up with the goods.
