FPL Double Gameweek 25 confirmed for four teams

Gameweek 25 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) will be a ‘double’ after the rearrangement of two previously postponed fixtures.

Four teams will now place twice in Gameweek 25: Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

  • Arsenal: Leicester City (a) + Everton (h)
  • Everton: Aston Villa (h) + Arsenal (a)
  • Liverpool: Crystal Palace (a) + Wolves (h)
  • Wolves: Fulham (a) + Liverpool (a)

The reverse fixtures of both rearranged matches were played out as recently as Saturday, with Everton and Wolves coming out on top.

However, it’s worth noting Gameweek 25 also coincides with previously announced blanks for Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Manchester United and Newcastle United, due to the EFL Cup final taking place.

Taking LiveFPL’s top 100,000 sample, we can see ownership data for Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and Wolves players.

Arsenal players dominate the above list, with only Hugo Bueno (£3.9m), Nathan Patterson (£3.9m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) exceeding 5 per cent ownership from the other sides involved.

Even then, neither of the budget defenders are currently assured of starts.

Bueno was, of course, benched on Saturday, while Patterson is injured and last featured in Gameweek 19. There was no update on the latter in last week’s press conference but he will have a while longer on the sidelines if the original six-week timeframe for his recovery was accurate.

As for Salah, he’s without an attacking return since Boxing Day and has registered just five shots in his last four matches. However, there is still time for Liverpool’s assets to find some form, with matches against Everton (h) and Newcastle United (a) preceding their double.

        Yeah probably, I just noticed that the FA Cup last 16 is the same as the midweek for the DGW25 fixtures so all the 4 teams announced today for the DGW25 are already out of the FA Cup which I guess limits adding any more fixtures.

      Same. I'm hopeful Bueno comes back into the side but he was dropped for the same Liverpool fixture on Saturday, which is annoying. No idea about Patterson, plus Coleman did well at the weekend tbf.

      Actually i dont like any of the 4 teams apart from arsenal which i will be having 3 pkayers from, and the 4 blank teams is nearly half of my team, will ship out 2 of them to field 9 players in gw25 and igonre the doublers & save the FH

    Was planning on salah to kdb for next week but given Liverpool now double in 25 is it worth doing Bruno to mahrez instead?

    Extra glad that I wildcarded now. Imperative to get the best three Arsenal players (Saka, Odegaard and Gabriel imo) and limping along with Martinelli and White could be punishing over the next few weeks.

        I did it as I was holding all the wrong Arsenal and City players ahead of the double, including Cancelo. The timing of this announcement is a rare bit of FPL luck this season 🙂 Also, the blanks and doubles later this season look like they could be easier to navigate than previous years but we'll see.

        Early subs really, sometimes before the dreaded 60 min mark. Form has dipped slightly too so there is maybe a slim possibility of TTom taking over at RB after the key game v City.

        It's just not something you need to worry about if you have Saliba/Gabriel instead, and what you lose in BPS you more than make up with goal threat.

          Fair points. I could argue that Saliba hasn't looked great since the restart either though buy fair enough there's no direct replacement you'd be happy to change him with like Tomiyasu. I've been on just Saka and him for a while and got Nketiah this week so I think I'm happy enough to stick unless we see it happen. Only 2 clean sheets in 6 since the restart so he hasn't really missed out with being subbed early

    Well that changes the thinking about future transfers for gw25..
    Was set on Doherty -> Bueno so i could do Bruno -> KdB but now im not so sure anymore..
    Would also like to do Martinelli to Saka/Nketiah but feels like I have bigger problem to take care of.

      Team dependent of course but still not for me. Already set with my preferred Arsenal trio, an easily pick up a Wolves/Everton defender for free, not much interest in Liverpool. The 10 I have planned to field still look like the same candidates I'd have on FH

    Hah I was just looking at Semedo last night for a few weeks from next week. Patterson and Cash were already giving me a bit of a headache, given they have fixtures in GW25 but are probably unlikely to play unless injury to Coleman/Young gives them a chance. No chance I go near Liverpool assets, so basically probably Tarkowski/Coady I guess. Tempted by Neves mind but he could well just concede in both and pick up a yc so think I'll just roll with current plans (which includes rolling FT this week).

      The benefit of it is that you'll still have a heap ot people focusing on doublers no matter what, including Liverpool players despite their awful form. Should hopefully help avoid people fully targeting better incoming doubles like Brighton

      Yeah been seeing this as well. He was subbed off at half Vs United but that was due to a YC he picked up early on. Also subbed in the 59th min one game. Other than that he's played 60+ for the rest of the season.

        The good thing is about early subbing is that it effectively means more clean sheets as long as its not before 60 minute mark.

      There's nothing wrong with White. He's just not as secure as some others in the Arsenal defense for minutes (it's more the 59 min or half time subs that are the problem).

    I think I'm basically locking in a FH in 35 after this announcement.

    My team even after this week is likely to have x3 Newcastle, x3 United and Bueno. That would mean even if I saved FT in 24 I'd still need to take a -4 to field 10.

    FH'ing in Salah, Darwin, Tarkowski etc has upside.

    It looks very straightforward for my team.

      yes in 25*, though my plan was to build team for blank gw28 so i can WC29 and BB34 But in blank28 teams that I already own some players like Mun, Mci, Tottenham and Brighton are gonna blank so I have to rethink it if its worth FH in 28

    Very rarely we have teams blanking and other doubling in the same gw. Looks like a great option for FH.

        That’s the question, this is why I have to see if I want to bring more players who are gonna blank in 28 and FH25 or focus 25 with my transfers

          My point is it looks like terrible week to play FH overall, you "want" Tarkowski, maybe Salah, nobody really from Wolves and everyone has 3x Arsenal, fixtures are not great for niether team doubling. Plus City has Bournemouth so most of us will have double or triple MCI, you won't be selling let say KDB/Mahrez for Neves or Iwobi, right?
