Yeah, that is very much the risk with GW37, it's the main reason why I typically eschew the TC so late in the season. I suppose FH then means you could hone in on players *with* something to play for but a) they might not be doubling and b) they might be from clubs fighting to avoid the drop or targeting something like a Europa League place, so hardly the cream of the crop.

More and more I'm coming around to the idea of FH29 but I think for this week, until the FA Cup has played out, I'll leave both options on the table.

There's no right or wrong answer to this. Like everything else in FPL you have to decide what strategy you feel is going to work best for you personally.

I'm thinking play FH29 unless there are surprises in the FA Cup next week, or City and Pool in draw each in Cup QFs because without that I'm not expecting two big double GW as stated in the article. GW34 could even be a single GW if cup postponements at the weekend are moved to midweek.

FH in big blank like GW29 is not only about that but also couple weeks before and after. You focus your transfer on players you not really want most of the time, missing some good fixtures leading to blank, maybe taking hit or two to field 8-9 players in a blank, it all adds up.

Playing 5 at the back isn't ideal, especially when 2 of them might not even play.

I think I'd want at least one of Saka or Hwang tbh.

He's not over rated as he's not rated very highly. He's certainly been useful and will happily have him for the next couple of weeks, but he's no Watkins or Saka.

I agree. For his price, with his returns, with City's goals concentrated on Haaland and the rest spread throughout and with City's upcoming fixtures he's very much non essential for me.

Many MCI assets are/were overrated FPL options because they play for that specific team, in my opinion to fully unlock their potential they should leave and be stars in some other teams. At the moment they are just small fish in a huge tank, I guess they're happy with that, winning trophies after all.

Many factors to consider. Minutes & pen duty for example, however, Foden is indeed overrated.

It does seem to me like DGW34 might be quite underwhelming, for the reasons you say. That's why (in my plan above) I'm compromising on the idea of having loads of doublers in 34 if its going to be something like: EVE/CRY/BHA/SHU/BOU/WOL

Pretty much. Gws 29 and 34 look a bit underwhelming for a FH. Gw 37 looks better but I think BB or just no chip will work better.

Hardly in a position to give advice on FH this season, but I would just use it in 29 if you need it. If you don't, and you look ok for 29, then I would just burn it in whatever week looks fun. This week looks as good as any.

Even gw 38 could work - just don't think it's a devastating chip this season due to fixtures and other factors.

D is a bit like what I'm doing - most appealing for 26 alone but kind of a deadending move since e.g. you might want to sell Hojlund for Solanke in 28. A looks solid regardless of chip stategy

Having said that, there were many that went all out for this week, using wild card last week for this one. Selling people like Solanke, Saka and Watkins. I bet you're still in a good position, even with that nasty bit of luck. I for example could have just not taken a hit for KDB and be 4 points better off, but there you go.
