After weeks of intense competition the time has come to reveal who has made it through to the finals of our two Fantasy Premier League cup competitions, which take place in Gameweek 26.
In the Fantasy Football Scout Cup, Elvarus, who is 30th in the overall rankings, edged past former FPL winner Tom Fenley 56-53 to secure a berth in the final. He faces 10,691st-placed TH14, who recorded a more convincing 54-44 victory over ezdmanx in his semi-final.
Elvarus, who has one top 5,000 finish under his belt, has the advantage of two free transfers. He also has Free Hit, Triple Captain and Bench Boost chips to call on but won’t be able to use a second Wildcard, having played that in Gameweek 24.
Meanwhile TH14, who finished 117th in the 2014/15 season, has a full quota of chips at his disposal. On the downside, he has just one free transfer.
With seven differentials, including a number of excellent captaincy candidates to call on, chips may not need to be deployed.
TH14 has the option of captaining Alexis Sanchez at home to Huddersfield or Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino against Spurs at Anfield.
Sergio Aguero is Elvarus’ key differential. Having entrusted the Man City striker with the captaincy last time out, he could hand him the armband once again for a trip to Burnley.
Elvarus also has the opportunity to field a double Manchester United defence, with Phil Jones and David De Gea in his side.
Meanwhile, TH14’s differential defenders include Brighton’s Lewis Dunk and Newcastle’s Paul Dummett.
The winner will receive a £150 Amazon voucher, while the runner up is handed a £100 Amazon voucher.
Despite missing out on a place in the final, Tom Fenley and Ezdmanx still have something to play for as they compete in the third place play off in Gameweek 26, with the winner awarded a £50 Amazon voucher.
The final of the Members Cup will see rrcmc, who defeated Root 68-52 in the semi-finals, square up to graslauk, who overcame Gloria Kanchelskis 52-45.
With an overall rank of 5,243, graslauk looks to be the favourite, with rrcmc sitting 48,788 places below him. The former also has the advantage of finishing in the top 2,000 last year across a four-season career. He also has all his chips intact.
Rrcmc – whose highest finish was 7,632nd in 2015/16 – has already used his Bench Boost chip but has greater experience on his side, having first starting playing FPL in 2006/7.
The pair are at least evenly matched in terms of transfers, with just one available to each.
There are also eight differences in their squads, with graslauk boasting a stronger defence, which features Arsenal’s Skhodran Mustafi and Manchester United’s Phil Jones, compared to rrcmc’s backline that boasts Burnley centre-half Ben Mee.
However, rrcmc has the edge in attack with Leicester’s Jamie Vardy and Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson, while his opponent may have to rely on Everton’s rotation-threatened forwards Oumar Niasse and Dominic Calvert Lewin.
As with the FFS Cup the winner of this contest will receive a £150 Amazon voucher, while the runner up receives a £100 Amazon voucher.
Gloria Kanchelskis and Root will face each other in a third place play off to compete for a £50 Amazon voucher.
