How Scout Membership can help Fantasy managers in 2019/20

Full-season Fantasy Football Scout subscriptions are still available for £17.50 – that’s the equivalent of less than 39p a week.

Over the years we have added to the benefits that our Members enjoy and we will be re-investing back into the site to enhance it further in 2019/20.

The most recent addition was the new Flat-Track Bully tool, which allows Members to conduct research in greater detail.

Using this new feature (pictured below) you can exclude/include certain teams (i.e. the ‘big six’) when scrolling through the various tabs in our Player Stats section.

This will help you identify players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition and even those who thrive against the top teams like Raúl Jiménez did in 2018/19.

We also recently put a call out for web developers and we have a number of other site improvements in the pipeline that will hopefully help our subscribers even more.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

In 2018/19 we published more Members’ articles than ever before and there will be at least 150 such pieces in the 2019/20 campaign.

We also introduced Members-only comments and Hot Topics to allow for detailed discussions of content behind the pay-wall.

Our Projections and Rate My Team tools (below) have both been tweaked, with RMT’s Professor – aka Chris Atkinson – elaborating on the changes in a recent Hot Topic.

Reigning Fantasy Premier League champion Adam Levy is a paid-up Member of our site and he discussed what tools of ours he finds most useful in a recent interview.

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members’ League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our Members’ League and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

We are hugely grateful to those who show their support by signing up as a Member each season. This continues to enable us to maintain the site, grow the Fantasy Football Scout team and develop more ideas.

Here are just some of the features you can enjoy as a subscriber:

Head-to-Head Comparisons

Compare both teams and players head to head.

Match Analysis

Analysis of every Premier League match (going back to 2011/12!), together with charts which plot average positions and our collection of heatmaps for touches, shots, chances created among other statistics.

Custom Stats Tables

Members can also create custom tables based on the data and share them with other subscribers (an example from last season is shown above).

Perhaps the most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table, which looks to predict which underperforming assets will find the net next.

Customisable Season Ticker

Sort by fixture difficulty and find out which teams’ matches rotate well using our customisable Season Ticker.

Be sure to check out all the other benefits of signing up as a member here. A full FAQ on our Members’ Area is also available here.

What is the status on burnley keepers? All are 4.5, who will play?

Apparently Hart has been told he can leave and Heaton is refusing to sign a new contract (current deal ends at the conclusion of this season), so the working assumption is Nick Pope.

Not keen on A or B but I'd go stronger in the midfield. Get Fraser in for a start. Maybe Fraser, KDB, Vardy? Think that gives you 0.5 left over too.

For anyone who is interested... Norwood is on penalties at 5.0. Took the last penalty that Sheffield had vs Brighton and took the two yesterday even with mcgoldrick on the pitch. They seem to be following a take them till you miss them approach and Norwood has the duty right now. Add the fact that Robinson will take mcgoldricks place soon and you have penalty taking, set piece hog with a good shot on him at 5.0 million with 4 good attacking fixtures in the first 5.

Not sure who is first choice but I know that Sharp has a much higher career successful conversion percentage than McGoldrick. Between Sharp and Norwood but need more info

Yes he was. Sharp used to take penos until a few misses made mcgoldrick first choice.. Then Norwood took one when both of them weren't on the pitch and took two successfully yesterday with mcgoldrick on. They follow a rotation policy. And Norwood is first for now. Hopefully they get no more penos in pre season so that Norwood retains the crown for the epl start atleast lol

Sharp was behind mcgoldrick anyway. It was sharp then mcgoldrick then Norwood.. If Norwood missed then I'd assume its someone elses turn. But for now Norwood looks like he is on them

Yup. Don't mind starting him for good fixtures/when I'm forced to and for just 0.5 over dendonker. Dendonker is good.. But seems more like a permabencher. Would never be confident starting him. That being said Norwood could 3nd up being the next Joe ralls ie a flop but at 5 million I'm taking the punt

Good info, cheers. Is he on other set pieces, is he a threath other than pens? Awkward price, started with a 5.0 mid last season but never played him (Hughes, got a returned when he came on from my bench though)

He takes every set piece.. Even seen him taking the ones meant for a left footer lol.. He is basically their main set piece taker. From open play he is an assist threat.. Though regarding goals he relies on blinders ie amazing shots from a distance.. So can't see him getting too many from those.

Another interesting thing about Sheffield worth noting is that lundstram 4m is genuinely likely to get regular game time in midfield. Pre season they have been rolling out a 532 instead of the 5212 to prepare for the increased need for defensive responsibilities

Will be starting three of them each week.

    A. Digne + Fraser + Dendoncker + Stephens + Rico (4-4-2)

    B. Coleman + Vertonghen + 6.5 mid + Dendoncker + Stephens (5-3-2)

How is VAR going to affect FPL-points this year? Do you think penalty takers will be good value?

Personally whilst pens which have been historically missed will be awarded, I think it'll balance off with pens not being awarded (looking at you Raheem!) which may have been in the past.

Massive increase in pens, decrease in goals for non penalty taking strikers and wingers as the offside rule is correctly enforced. Sufferers will mostly play for Liverpool and spurs

      1. FF Red
        • 5 Years
        5 years, 3 months ago

People keep saying Liverpool will suffer, it's nonsense. Along with City we are the most attacking team in the league, we have 3 tricky forwards that run at defenders constantly and commit defenders. The amount of penalties we don't get should heavily outweigh the ones Sky want you to believe we shouldn't get. When Salah is fouled, he "goes down easily", when an English player dives, it's good play to win the penalty because they felt the contact. We barley got a penalty at Anfield for 2 years FFS, with numerous dodgy ones given against us and people are suggesting we are lucky.

If VAR is applied properly with no bias (yeah right), Liverpool will be awarded more penalties than they have been in recent years.

Sorry, I misread and thought you were making the same points as I've read others make about pens.

As for off-sides though it could work both ways. IIRC, I read that Liverpool were awarded 4 offside goals last year, and 2 ruled offside that shouldn't have been (whether that's accurate or not is irrelevant). That could easily be reversed next year. We always hear that refs were instructed to give benefit of the doubt to attackers, but we all know that was rarely ever the case, many refs would play it safe as not giving a tight decision was often the easier choice.

Sticking with KDB and spending the 2m elsewhere

Speculation going around. Dyche seems to give people more of a chance after a season or so bedding in. Certainly monitor

Think Dyche is splitting the first choice players amongst the sides he is putting out to keep the players guessing.

So. To field my perfect team I need three 4.5m PLAYING defenders as well as my perma defenders - TAA + VVD.

I need to play 2 of these 3 every week until WC.

And I've found 3 that rotate perfectly:

    Cathcart; Dunk; Elmo

    Giving me:

    Pope.

TAA. VVD. Cathcart/Dunk/Elmo (2 of these 3 every week)

    Salah. Sterling. Siggy. Pererya.

    Vardy. Wilson.

Have you factored in Dunk potentially replacing Maguire at Leicester. I don't trust the Brighton defence at all

Works if doing 3 at the back but I would use 3x 4.5 in a 442

I ask because hes still categorized as a defender in another fantasy game.

Does anyone else not want greater detail to information on here? Do you want simpler interfaces and more interpretable data? Do you want this to be a fun game rather than a phd?

Kind of think FFS missed the point.

    Ok another dilemma.

    A) Vardy and Sterling
    B) Kane and KDB

A would mean a 442 due to owning Perez and not wanting to double up
    B would mean a 352.

Not much in it. Set it up who you feel will start the season the best. Imo there aren't many player who you will keep for all 38 games straight anyway
