Right now, it's all stats based, so it will (in the long term) favor players who have good stats, with an element of luck and unpredictability in between
Speaking as someone who has an intimate knowledge of this season's stats, I think it's been playing out very, very well, to be fair.
The West Ham Newcastle game was exactly what you would have expected in real life.

I think it’s done well so far. Salah didn’t do anything and Leicester has had 2 different leading gw scorers and neither were vardy

Went for Sarr over Richarlison... not great so far. With Barnes injured is it worth getting Richarlison? Everton have harder fixtures after AVL, and Barnes only misses one GW

I ran a friendly sim just before the deadline (can't remember who Spurs were playing, no-one awful) and he had 17 attacking involvements!

Right now no, but in the future you will see every player's attacking involvement on the transfers page (it's there now but with only the most involved counted)
