Fantasy Bundesliga returns for 2021/22 – sign up to our mini-league to win prizes

Fantasy Bundesliga is back for the 2021/22 season – and Fantasy Football Scout will be the place to come for tips and advice not just in pre-season but throughout the campaign.

German football enthusiasts and Scout site users FFFrog and Stats Don’t Lie will be writing for us on everything from strategy guides to Scout Picks for the upcoming Matchday.

And we’ve also launched our very own mini-league, which we are delighted to announce will offer prizes to the manager of the month and overall winner and runner-up:

HOW TO SIGN UP TO AND PLAY FANTASY BUNDESLIGA

Click on this link here to sign up to Fantasy Bundesliga and pick a team.

As for the game itself, you’ll notice some similarities to Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

Managers have a budget with which to choose a squad of 15 players and then select a starting XI for the next Matchday (the equivalent of a Gameweek).

As in FPL, players then score points based on their on-field achievements – in Fantasy Bundesliga, this ranges from everything from goals to duels won.

Free transfers are allowed between Matchdays, while price rises also occur due to player performances.

Those are the basics but we’ll return tomorrow with an in-depth article on the scoring system and rules, including all you need to know on ‘Star Players’ (which assume the role of FPL captains) and substitutions.

I’m leaning toward starting with 3 x 7.5 strikers instead of Toney - worst comes to worst can always drop down to him for the palace game

And it’s a good morning from me

          “Be Water, My Friend.
          Empty your mind.
          Be formless, shapeless, like water.
You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.
You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle.
You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.
Now water can flow or it can crash.
          Be water, my friend“

FPL water doesn’t lock in decisions this far in advance

Luckily I have these with one of them is 8.0 forwards since the first week .. Dont try to prdict promoted team too much. Can be good and can be bad too.

50/50 even to someone that have a good record like Toney.

Manchester United are still interested in Kieran Trippier. United are talking to Atletico Madrid but nothing is advanced at the moment. Trippier's agency is the same as Varane so it's an interesting thing.

Possibly (knowing myself), but this team seems okay for the first 6 even and I think it's possible to handle needed changes (especially reducing bench) even with just 1 or 2 hits.

I think there will also emerge so many things during first 3-4 gameweeks, so that with this setup its more likely that I land at least few of the good starters to the season.

I feel thete is so much options at the "7.5m and under" category at both midfield and forwards this year. Also I like many of the 5-5.5 defenders.

I think you could afford to downgrade Firpo/Coufal to 4.0 fodder and also one GK to 4.0. Then you could afford example VVD (for Firpo/Coufal), or any other defender par Liverpool.

      1. Pukki Blinders
        • 4 Years

That requires an extra 1.0m than rotating with a 4.5 def though… Leeds and Arsenal don’t rotate that well either fixtures wise

        1. AceKn1ght
          • 8 Years
          2 years, 9 months ago

Hmm.. True, I suppose this only works with the way my team is set up.

I only tend to look at 4 or 5 weeks of rotation… Beyond that, so much can change, so would probably choose Ayling on that logic.

Longer term, a punt on Rico Henry might be an interesting choice! Watched Brentford play a few times over the past few years, and he passes the eye test.. Albeit injury prone, and often perhaps flatters to deceive

I've seen a fair squads playing 343 with ESR as the 5th mid. This doesn't make sense to me because you can't rotate ESR with a defender in this tactic.

1M in the bank, too much in defence?

    Martinez
    Dias - Shaw - TAA - Robbo
    Mahrez - Raphinha - Harrison - Salah
    Watkins - Cavani

    Foster - Fofana - Bissouma - Perica

    1. FPLGOOD
      • 4 Years

Its different than mine but probably okay... i would anyways:

      Martinez > 4.5
      Dias > Digne
      Mahrez > Sancho
      Cavani > 7.5
      Perica > 7.5

One of the 7.5m forwards could be Toney. Could get you to upgrade Harrison to Raphinha as well.

    Sanchez
    TAA Robbo Shaw Digne
    Salah Mahrez Kai Greenwood
    Antonio Wilson

    Brownhill Ayling Obafemi

The 3 punts are Mahrez Kai and Greenwood. High potential high risk picks. Can switch them up in 2 transfers if something goes wrong. Can move down to the 6.5's as well as upgrade to the 10's or 9.5's. Quite like the price points. Apart from that fairly template.

    Thoughts??

Greenwood is no more nailed I think with Sancho's arrival, if you do not want Bruno, get Cavani to cover Utd attack

The lack of City players in these teams is baffling.

Have we forgotten how much of a powerhouse they are.

They are but none of their players are fpl wise. Better to wait for those "certain" moments when you have an idea of what Pep is all about for 3-4 gameweeks. Start of the season with players returning and transfer window open is not that monent in my opinion 🙂

No CL to start should limit rotation.

I’d be lying if I said they’d play every game but the points they get when playing is worth it IMO.

People have got fed up of the rotation. If you look at last seasons top points scorers, none of their players are at the top. Dias is about the only nailed option but he's not that exciting a pick either. KDB injured during the Euros too.

KDB’s fitness is something I need to keep an eye on. A lock if fit for me.

You’ve also got to add the points you’d get from your bench that those players don’t play.

          For example,

Gundo got 157 points from 28 games last year.

If you add say an average of 3 points from your bench for those 10 games. It becomes around 187 points.

Pretty good for someone priced at 7.5.

I have Mahrez. Cancelo is tempting too. But my defence is already stacked with Pool double Digne and Shaw.
Mahrez has had an off summer so should be fresh to start.

Like the Mahrez pick. Got KDB, Gundo and Cancelo myself.

Mahrez very high on my watchlist though.

Whatever draft I put on paper, I give it a 95% chance to be wildcarded by GW6.
So strategy is full maverick until GW5/6 and then make a wise wildcard based on solid 5/6 GW study

I’m a big supporter of upside chasing so I think two is needed. Gives you flexibility to get to the different big hitters for juicy fixtures.

Had Sanchez in from the off but now leaning towards a 5.0 GK and get veltman
    Who to go far
    A) Pickford
    B) schmeichel
    C) Henderson
    D) other/keep sanchez

Bryan Gil = 11 goals + 11 assists in 62 senior appearances. What we thinking, £6.5m mid?

    https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/bryan-gil-202021-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics-la-liga
"The high number of dribbles Bryan Gil attempts and completes each match translates into lots of crosses and passes into the penalty area (5.93 and 5.01 per 90 respectively) as he dribbles with a purpose and always looks to create chances with his good delivery. And not only he hits the target he chooses with his passes and crosses (55.38% accuracy in his passes into the box and 42.86% in his crosses), he also chooses good targets who are in good positions, leading to the creation of numerous chances. So far this season, Bryan Gil has registered 0.35 xA per 90 but his teammates haven’t scored in any of the 4.54 xG he has set up.
To complete all we have mentioned in this tactical analysis, Bryan Gil can also advance using quick combinations and playing one-twos in the final third and his finishing with both feet is very good so defenders risk a lot if they leave any side free or try to force him to shoot with his right. This season, Bryan Gil has scored 0.23 goals from 0.12 xG per 90, meaning he’s overperforming but also suggesting he has quality in his finishing. In total, he adds 0.47 expected goals contributions per 90, which is a fantastic figure for a winger."

They just splashed out £22m + Lamela, so you'd think he have a starting spot on the wing (Bale gone back to Madrid as well).
Only competing against Lucas, Dele and Bergwin for 3 attacking spots (assuming Son move to centre forward in Kane's stead).

Difficult to estimate over a long period.

CHE will be playing 2 games a week and Tuchel Tombola could be rife in those periods so uncertainty of how many of those 20 league games Chilwell would start. When he does start, he can easily haul DD with CS and attacking return.

Buendia nailed to start and on set pieces so he has the starts to get consistent attacking returns.
