Álvarez starts every game, criminally underrated here. Everyone froffs on KDB getting late lucky assist first game back and KDB almost double the price

KDB to salah is being locked in before the next game week starts I held back on changes this week to do so and I have only 8 playing today

      Yeah

      It's mad

I fell into it too but it looked solid enough for the double

Lost Walker and Gross in the process for a hit.

So wasn't going to hit him back out this week.

How hard is it to catch up to a ML rival with 12 points and TC in hand? Especially if said rival has made all the "safe" moves so far this season so not likely to give up ground with mistakes.

I had that thought process up until I burned my TC on Haaland and they held theirs! That seems like the biggest mountain to climb

          • 4 Years

I wouldn't necessarily say the TC was burned. It was ok, not good or bad First time I even recall a TC of mine scoring a goal, so I was happy.

There was no better reason not to do it.

Plenty of opportunity for any TC later to go worse.

Absolute worst case scenario he makes 20-25 points over you on TC which in itself is highly unlikely. 37 points is absolutely nothing. Last season I had an 80 point swing in one GW thanks to Wilson (c) over Isak plus a couple of differentials. No need to worry at this stage. Just play your normal game

Fair enough. Will definitely pick the best players / scorers, play the captaincy game safe and smart, and hope for his TC to not be too crazy. Chheers

no worries - if you even have one different defender who get a goal and clean sheet in one game that can be 15 points, anything can happen, sensible moves and if he's still leading with a few weeks to go then throw in a couple of differentials and a couple of alternative captain picks - good luck!

If your defence is so good you're benching 2 mids that's a good start.

Chelsea have a really poor recent record against Brentford, but I think their weak spot is down their left flank so could definitely be some Palmer/Gusto involvement

I went for Estupinan over Mainoo, who is my first (only) sub.

So expect Estupinan to come on in the 98th minute, get sent off, concede a penalty and two other goals in his 30 seconds on the pitch.

While Mainoo will score seven goals, get two assists and a special 6 points BPS for scoring over 50 points in one round.

"It's good being January where we have fewer games. I don't expect to be playing too many games and Newcastle next week is a big game so I'll expect to be back on the bench."
"If they need me or want to give me minutes that will be the case but then another two weeks before a game so that is a different momentum so we will see how it is." KDB

GW22, -4 hit to bring in Estupinian v Luton (h).... gets 0 points, Solanke 8-pointer on bench.

Frustrating thing for me about Estupinan is I also own Lamptey. He will probably come off the bench and block my potential Lamptey points. Tbh last week that worked wonders as Lamptey came off at HT with 0 points and Estu cameod for 1 pointer.

estu's gotta go at some point but can't bring myself to risk a hit to take him out and had other fires to put. maybe could've started lamptey ahead off him but with de zerbi it's another roulette. had lamptey for a while as a bench fodder when he looked like he was recovering from the injury he had but still was out up until couple of weeks ago. looks like he is to stay on my bench until I wildcard at some point.

Saw a few here suggest VVD is not a great FPL pick for lack of attacking threat (saying the likes of Bradley are better).

In a span of 1 week, VVD:
    - Hit the bar with a header VS BRE
    - Scored a header VS LUT
    - Scored a narrowly disallowed header in the cup final VS Chelsea
    - Scored the winner by way of another headed goal in the cup final VS Chelsea

Best defender in FPL by a mile at the moment?

Probably alongside Gabriel (who himself very nearly had another goal which became an own goal)

Seems like big teams are getting better at set pieces while attacking full backs are often playing a slightly different role (and also Trent was finally priced properly this season)
