Anyone going for Gordon over Isak on WC? More nailed and less injury prone plus an extra point for goals

I've realized I can get a pretty strong BB for GW34.

Areola (cry), Foden (bha), Reguilon (lut), Zabarnyi (avl/wol)

Could it be worth using the BB early on that? I don't think a bunch of defenders in GW37 do better than that. I'd have maybe Petrovic, Dalot?

The rest of the XI except Haaland are all triples including triple Pool, Ars. It's an interesting option. It's certainly the strongest my bench is gonna look this season.

Struggling to get my head around the moving deadline in fantasy challenge. Just watched the premier league football show on you tube. Az has all Liverpool players on the bench seemingly with the aim of switching them in if any of the starters blank. However the rules say that as soon as a players team has played, that player is locked from any changes so if any of the starting players blank you can't then swap them out for the Liverpool players.

Literally no point in playing when you've got saddos trying to exploit the system before most have even picked a team.

As long as it’s within the rules there is nothing wrong in trying to maximise your points.

There's nothing "wrong" with it, but it absolutely makes it pointless playing when you're up against try-hards who go against the spirit of the game. Like that "never upgrade houses" Monopoly strategy - might win you the game, but your peers will think you're a complete tool.

I am afraid the football world in reality is populated by lots of ‘tryhards’ who go against the spirit of the game in order to increase their chances of winning. Players, coaches, directors even are all guilty.

By introducing flexible deadlines FPL Challenge have created a module that will actually reward those who are prepared to give up their time scrutinising team sheets ahead of kick offs.

Think they were hoping to attract the more casual follower to this game but if anything you will need to be more ‘hands on’ than in the main game. Anyway, I am giving it a go. At least twitter team leaks are no longer a factor in this game!

      He's doing it wrong.

You should have your early KO people on your bench and a bunch of red flagged players from the later kickoffs in your XI.

That way if your guys on the bench score well, you just let the autosubs kick in. If they don't, you can then transfer out the red flagged players to get new Liverpool players in for a 2nd shot.

Looks like we agree but with slightly different ways of achieving the same result.

I am no expert on this new game but I think your benched players should be those playing in the early games i.e. Newcastle & West Ham tomorrow. If they all haul then you just leave them on the bench. The next step is to remove your ‘field’ players and replace these guys with guaranteed non players i.e. those with long term injuries or have moved to teams abroad etc.

Auto substitutions will then sub in your hauling bench at the end of the GW so that you then get those points. This game is not like UCL where you can sub out players who have already played.

If your bench players blank then you don nothing.

If I have got this wrong then perhaps someone can correct me?

It can go either way with Foden, Bowen, and Saka.
City have Stones and Walker out. Arsenal may have Gabriel out and Saka may not be fit. Bowen against leaky Newcastle.

Does not have a double, but Onana might be best with Sheffield (H). Assume you have Gusto so would stay away from Petrovic. Pickford could be decent if you dont have Branthwaite. Not keen on Bournemouth defense, so no Neto
