World Cup Dugout Discussion – Matchday One

The wait is over. The World Cup kicks off with the host nation, Brazil, facing up to regular dark horses, Croatia.

The tournament favourites lineup as expected, with the likes of David Luiz, Oscar and Paulinho the familiar names alongside Neymar – the Barcelona starlet sports the armband for Fantasy managers far and wide this evening.

The Croatians have the talent to ensure that tonight’s opener will be a cracker, although the loss of striker Mario Mandžukić to suspension for their first group match is a major blow. Hull City’s Nikica Jelavic leads the line for European side, while Šime Vrsaljko is perhaps the surprise inclusion in their lineup as Danijel Pranjić drops to the bench to make way.

Brazil: Julio Cesar, Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, Luiz, Marcelo, Paulinho, Gustavo, Hulk, Oscar, Neymar, Fred.

Croatia: Pletikosa, Srna, Corluka, Lovren, Vrsaljko, Modric, Rakitic, Perisic, Kovacic, Olic, Jelavic.

There should be a Option while changing Formation during a Round. suppose my 1st formation was 442. n now i want to change it to 343.. so in that case i must have an option so change my 1 Def. who didn't perform WRT to my choice.. But it shows.. Changing formation, U will lose points.. of ur current player..
IS it Automatic that the lowest scoring player will be changed???

  The simplest thing is just to have it so the formation is determined by the players you bring on - just let players sub off a defender for a midfielder and have the formation change automatically.

  Probably a good idea if you are feeling brave to rejig your team so the first 11 are lined up in order of the games. ie in order of when they are playing from left to right with the right hand side players last to play.

    80% pass bonus is only for defenders and midfielders. Forwards get their bonus for 80% attempts instead.

    IF you SWAP your formation, i.e went to the extreme 4-5-1 (!) you could LOSE NEYMAR, as I have done in a test account, he's now locked for the round, he was the captain too, and it doesn't give you any choice to lock in a player before you take any action.

Okay... Just took my life in my hands and had a minor tinker with my Pitch.

You can reorder the players who haven't played yet. Take out the players who haven't played and then when you put them in again they fill up from the left.

Few questions since I've woken up:

A. McDonalds: Still can't really see what leagues we're in or anything right? Guess we have to wait til the round finishes?

B: Fox: Are the scores fudged or what? Top player has Srna and Julio Cesar but why do they have clean sheets and no points lost for over 2 goals conceded?

Calling all World Cup game mini-league organisers.

I'm looking to give a mention in this weekend's community round up for any mini leagues. Ideally I need them by 4pm today to include.

Obviously some games are taking a while to sort their points out (EG Fox's clean sheet for Brazil). But if you can email a paragraph over with the current league leader (even if the pts are currently skewed) and a link that'll be great. If a H2H just a couple of key match ups would be good.

  It doesn't work (not in McD) had 3-5-2 formation in test account, swapped out one of the players and went to 4-5-1, and it cleared all forwards. It doesn't give you any option to lock in a player before you make any formation changes.

      My rule for UCL was always stick if there is a minimum of 1 goal 1 assist. Even if I twist with Sanchez, Ronaldo and Messi I don't see more than 2 goals by any of them. Not worth the risk IMO.

  In many ways I hoped Neymar failed. I have a whole host of players that I would have had as my Capt for the round. Hazard, Lukaku, Dezeko, JRod, Higuain etc.
  
  But most of the guys in my league have Messi as Capt and that worries me, if he finally comes of in a cup.

OK. Just performed a test on Maccy D's

Basically take out the starting player you want to remove

Then change formation

Accept what it says

Then it leaves the new spot in the position free for you to add the new player

***Granted I tried it with players who didnt play yet

Changed 4-4-2 taking out Cholevas to 3-4-3 bringing in Griezmann

I have a question, it may have been asked already, but can we swap a player who hasn't played yet for another player who hasn't played yet UNLIMITED times, i.e without the player we sub out becoming locked out
