The Community Round Up

Options in the centre of the park hog the limelight in our latest look back at the community’s best articles, discussions and statistics.

Three midfield maestros in particular stand out for our community writers, while our hot topic posters take in the rising stars and fading suns when it comes to the captaincy.

Our round up of the week’s key Members tables sees Liverpool’s wealth of options come under scrutiny, as well as those who are more than a little due in terms of finding the net.

Finally, we catch up on those who have mastered the art of selection across all positions to reach the top of our community competitions.

The Community Articles

With 21 points over his last two league fixtures, Bobby F finds it incredulous that Theo Walcott is only owned by just 5% of FPL managers. His latest community article outlines four key reasons why the Arsenal midfielder should take pride of place in your team.

Az is keen to promote Liverpool’s Adam Lallana as another must-have Fantasy asset after he served up a 15-point haul last weekend.

There was more waxing lyrical about value options in the centre of the park in Andy85wsm’s review of the Scouts’ Gameweek 6 selections. Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son was among our Spot the differential success stories.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Sergio Aguero returned from suspension in style in Gameweek 6 to reward his new owners with a brace. But this weekend Rukawa urges Fantasy managers to look elsewhere for the captaincy. He says Tottenham are now a far better side than the one the Manchester City striker so regularly humiliated in seasons past.

Our hot topic on Gameweek 7’s captaincy saw more of you suggest there are better candidates for the armband this week, while MNR96 dropped by to outline the pros and cons of some of the leading captaincy contenders.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently tussling with Alexis Sanchez at the top of our Captain Poll. Our hot topic on the big Swede’s haemorrhaging of FPL owners over the last two weeks details how his stock is set to plummet far further should he fail to rack up a decent score against Stoke on Sunday. Jafalad is among those urging his patient owners to keep the faith.

With Lallana joining Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and even James Milner as viable options, Liverpool’s midfield is proving a tricky minefield for Fantasy managers to navigate through this season, according to our hot topic on Anfield’s finest.

Staying with Liverpool, Firmino and Coutinho’s inability to both bring in points hauls in the same match was among the latest conspiracy theories trumpeted on this week’s Scoutcast. GulliermoDickero is among those who thinks Firmino’s selfless style of play may indeed force his owners to reach for the transfer button.

Elswhere, we considered whether Fantasy veterans are too biased by Walcott’s history of rotation, examined the best third strikers and looked back at your outstanding and dire Gameweek 6 scores in Rough with the Smooth.

If you were at the rough end of that hot topic, Kings of Lyon offered some kind words of encouragement. He looked back at the improved performers who emerged from a league he set up last season for those
with terrible early overall ranks.

The Members Tables

With Everton’s Leighton Baines set to miss tonight’s home clash with Crystal Palace, many owners are looking elsewhere. My attacking defenders table offers up some strong picks for those seeking replacements.

Those going into Gameweek 6 without Ibrahimovic are urged to sit down and take a deep breath before looking at my latest Goals Imminent table, while Az has constructed this Liverpool focused table to justify his love affair with Lallana.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

Applebonkers continues to top the FFScout Moderators and Contributors league, closely followed by Evs.

The new leader of Red Lightning’s Top 10K Any Season mini-league is David Slade, who is also up to 954th in the overall rankings.

In TorresMagic‘s Last Man Standing competition, Cutch hit the top score in Gameweek 6 with 92. There are now 2543 teams qualified after 165 were eliminated when the safety score was set at 35.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Then you need far better planning especially if you've needed hits to get those three in AND using a WC.

I haven't taken a single hit and have had all three.

    Bottomed last page:

Anyone think there is an off-chance that Ibra maybe rested vs. Stoke?

Mourinho has said before that Ibra will struggle to play two games in a week and has given him extended breaks over the international period. This also allows Mou to give Rashford a run upfront and bring Rooney back into the team (who was on the bench last night).

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jose-mourinho-reveals-zlatan-ibrahimovic-8728897

""At 34 years old, you need to rest," Mourinho said. "You cannot play 70 matches a season. So I give the other guys, who are not selected for the national teams, two days - and I give four days to Zlatan."

    70 matches a season = 2 games in a week.

    Thoughts?

Basically it says that he gets extra days off during the international break. That's it. Mourinho said earlier he'll play both. If he would have needed a rest it would have been yesterday. Rashford played yesterday too.

You have to remember that frequently Mourinho says he'll play one team and then changes players beforehand (i.e Barca vs. Chelsea a while ago). Doesn't mean much coming out of his mouth.

Well, you start by posting the text above which doesn't indicate anything about Zlatan not starting. Then we give you all the information that he pretty much confirmed to start and you are still questioning it.

So I'll say what you want to hear. Yes, there is a chance he won't start as there is with every player in the PL.

I don't think there is any chance he will be rested just because of the poor results they have had recently. Jose will be focused on keeping up the form of the last two games until they start playing really well, then he will have the luxury to rest his stars.

Mark Hughes: "Joe Allen was a little bit tight in his hamstring, and hasn't really trained since the game. We will check on him, but hopefully he will be OK. Shaqiri came through the game fine and is in contention again. We are clearing the decks and have only two or three players, Afellay, Ireland and Butland, who are still on the sidelines. We are hopeful, although you can never tell, that we may now get a good run of steering clear of injuries. If you are to have a good season then that is important, and to our detriment, we have suffered in that regard over the past 12 months or so. Jack had his operation and the view was then that it would be between six and 10 weeks, and he is three weeks in now. He will be another month, minimum. My feeling is that it will be at least four weeks until we see him again."

        Surprising contrast of opinions.

I fear you will not want to revisit this post though in 6 game weeks time.

I've doubled up with Karius and Lovren, good value

I fear they are not. As I said, Lovren has very little attacking threat and Liverpool play in a style that will see the opposition always have chances against them.

    Aguero (vc), Ibra (C), Janssen

    Heaton, Townsend, VVD, Friend

Got 1 FT and £0.2m ITB

Ok I guess.. but you need some Liverpool and Arsenal-midfielders soon..

Maybe a Fuchs/VVD and Janssen downgrade would allow me to upgrade one of the mid-price midfielders to an Arsenal or Liverpool one...

rather have son-lukaku than barkley-jansen but then again money is an issue

      plus where is sanchez/walcott

      or firm/lallana/mane/coutinho?

    front 3
    ibra lukaku diamonde

    2 ft

my plan was to bring in Austin for Dio so as to not waste a transfer then still have 2 fts after the intl break which could allow me to even take a hit depending on how my team performs. however if i go all in for Kun, Rashford and austin now and take a -4 the team looks reaaalllyy good (my mids are sanchez, sterling, firm, capoue and antonio)

should i stick to the original plan or take a leap of faith???

Ozil and Mane ➡ Sanchez and Lallana is so tempting, but its for a hit and I really should save 2 FTs for the break

Dont take Mane out, see if you can do Ozil to Sanchez without involving Mane, if not aboard the Wally train, its up in full steam.

    Defence is currently:

    McCauley, Stones, Valencia, Collins, Amat

    1.2m 1FT

Collins to Holebas (got Capoue)/Blind/Coleman or Walker and play over Stones or save FT
