Mondogoal – GW38 – £30,000 World Championship Final

Mondogoal £30,000 will crown their “World Champion” this weekend and, in doing so, hand out no less than £30,000 in prizes.

One Mondogoal manager will be £10,000 better off as a result of Sunday’s big World Championship contest, with 170 participants competing for the big prize. The competition promises to be fierce with the likes of “Bigo1”, “Doom” and “Tomp1900” sporting ten entrants in Sunday’s decider.

If you missed out on qualification, there’s still plenty on offer for Sunday’s climax with Mondogoal giving away another £5000 in prizes across an array of contests, plus a signed Liverpool matchball in a special competition that requires just a £1 entry fee.

In addition, Mondogoal’s range of contests won’t end with Sunday’s final whistle. You can take part in contests over the Summer for the cup finals, Copa America, the Women’s World Cup and International Champions Cup. Be sure to check the site for tournament contests to keep yourself sharp for the new season.

If you’re new to Mondogoal but want to get involved for the final day, be sure to check out our strategy guide here, and our interview with top Mondogoal manager, ChrisDAFC here.

FF Scout Gameweek 38 Picks

mg

Motivation is the key factor in our final day selection. For once, both Newcastle and Hull City have a major say in our starting XI, with both sides desperately seeking a win that will preserve their top flight status.

That leads us to snatch both Ahmed Elmohamady and Nikica Jelavic from Steve Bruce’s squad to face United, while we’ve also plundered Magpies duo Paul Dummett and Tim Krul – both look solid defensive bargains, despite woeful recent form. John Carver’s side face West Ham at St James’ Park and we’re tipping them to edge their way to safety with a clean sheet. The Hammers have scored just twice in the last five Gameweeks and their lack of bite could well be Newcastle’s saving grace.

Elsewhere, we’ve chosen to avoid Chelsea’s attack at home to Sunderland, opting for Branislav Ivanovic at the back with his goal threat and promise of a clean sheet. David Silva and Sergio Aguero retain their places in our picks following last weekend’s hauls, while the lure of Romelu Lukaku at home to a stuttering Spurs is enough to earn him a place. The Belgian has been recording strong statistics of late and has earned two goals and an assist in his last three.

A blossoming Leicester City contingent complete our lineup. Nigel Pearson’s back four have recorded an incredible five clean sheets in their last six and we just don’t see QPR spoiling that copybook. We’ve gone with Jeffrey Schlupp’s raiding runs and Robert Huth’s presence at set-plays, while the lively Riyad Mahrez slots into our three-man midfield.

A reminder that you can tweak your Mondogoal lineup right up until 10 minutes before the three o’clock kick-offs on Sunday.

    0.3 short from Costa. Is Lukaku best replacement for Kane?

    Other strikers are Aguero and Giroud.

            It's a bit like Vidal, now 28, rumours floating about, I've heard Juve have to sell to keep the Pog, but again given age, fee and wages along with his knee problem probably not good value for money, even though he's top quality.

                  you don't have to play a strictly defensive midfielder to have a balanced side. Coquelin is an option there anyway. Vidal is a leader and a winner, world class. I reckon he would be great however they line up. Hope you guys win the league next season btw. Wenger deserves one more for sure

                    I agree you don't have to have a specialised defensive midfielder for a balanced side, like Bentaleb and Mason, but I don't think Ramsey and Vidal could possibly work. Both have made their names with runs into the box, running beyond strikers etc, add in the fact that Sanchez is on the wing, Walcott could be on the other, and we would have the most ridiculously attacking 6 in world football! 😆

    Evening lads,

    Having a stonker of a season and up to 4th OR now. 43 points behind 1st so I need a lot of differentials to score double figures this w/e to have any chance at pulling off a miracle. Currently only have the 6 marked * so am looking to get 1 or 2 more this week. Thoughts on the best move(s) here?

    A) Giroud -> Lukaku
    B) Kane -> Ulloa
    C) Hazard -> Mata/Yaya
    D) Sanchez & Kane -> Walcott & Lukaku (4 points)
    E) Haz & Giroud -> Walcott/Mata & Costa (4 points)

    Schmeichel*
    Skrtel*, Kos*, Schlupp*
    Hazard*, Albrighton*, Sanchez, Silva
    Aguero, Kane, Giroud

    Panti, Terry, Pva, Gomez
    Bank 0.0m, 1FT

    None of them really stand out if I'm honest. Since he doesn't have Haz I think it probably makes sense to take a gamble and keep him and hope that he starts.The rumours of a rest for Sanchez are interesting and would certainly make D an interesting move. And then I really fancy Walcott and Costa this week. Tricky. Cheers!

      oh wow. what an epic season, hope youre enjoying it 🙂

      As my name suggests, i'm a big believer that Benteke is going to start and score well this week, so he'd be my reccomendation.

      Out of the options you posted, I'd be very tempted by E. Giroud is off form, and even if he starts could well blank. Hazard wont play imo. Both Walcott and Costa have a real chance of exploding and if not, you can hold your head up high and give it a real go.

      You really need to be looking at players that no one else is considering to have a chance, and I would say they are your best bet. Good luck!

          A few reasons.

          The hammering by Southampton has probably knocked some of the wind out of Villas sails, they'll want to get a win to boost morale in the team.

          It's the last home game of the season, the fans have stuck by Villa and got behind Sherwood, he'll want to see out the season with a win, and his best chance of that is with Benteke playing. His press conference gave no mention of him intending to rest players and he said he wants to get a win.

          The whole team is geared up to feed Benteke. Why not use the game against Burnley as further training in a competitive match to work on their style of play?

          Benteke himself is in great goalscoring form, and Sherwood will be keen to see him add to his tally, boost his confidence and see that he goes into Arsenal raring to smash a few goals in.

            Well I've been agonising over my transfer decision all day. I need to make up 13pts on my money league rival so need to take a bit of a punt as we have quite a few of the same players and his defence looks better than mine.

            I have strongly considered Ozil out for Walcott but there seems no guarantee he will play and even if he does is he likely to do much against West Brom's defence?

            Other considerations are Giroud out for either Lukaku or Bentekke who I would then captain. I'm not a big fan of Lukaku so that leaves Benteke.

    18 points behind rival so is it worth taking a hit to replace Panti or just go without?

    Posted this above, but heres a few reasons why I think Benteke will start tomorrow.

      They need to get into form before the final, so they need to play the best team they can. They have plenty of time to rest before the final as well. I really can't see him being rested.

      he could but all depends on sherwood's plans for the final. Benteke picking up any type of knock would be absolutely disastarous and would bring up questions as to why he played a nothing game. He may give him some minutes but sherwood is most likely to proceed with caution.

      I reckon Burnley will win tomorrow though. Defensively, they have been quite resilient since the Manchester City game (4 cleanies, 4 single goal defeats in 9 games) and there's no chance whatsoever imo that Villa will be on full-throttle with a cup final looming.

        yah ppl seem to be overlooking Burnley and how they will try to go out of the PL with their pride-intact. More motivation there than there is for Villa tbh
