The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Third Round Draw

This evening we reveal the managers who have made it through to the third round of the 13th instalment of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

For this latest contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

Last year’s winner I Casillas Winning’s score of 55 saw him overcome Tufs to set up a round three clash with Allezlechef. Just 10,000 places separates this pair in the overall rankings.

Gribude is another former cup holder to make it through. He beat Allgonepozzo in round two and faces Cok3y5murf next.

Ex-champ MCH also progresses, after seeing off Shem Bayley. He takes on community regular Rhinos in round three.

Sadly, the second round marked the end of the road for another former winner, Ninja Fit Saints, who was beaten 70-49 by Jurgen.

The highest scoring manager of the round and recipient of a £30 FanDuel credit was DaJoeyNdo Show, whose sensational score of 95 left Stoorey’s tally of 40 for dust and saw him leap from 346,603rd in the overall rankings to 57,443rd.

Teguh D Puncak, who he faces next, is unlikely to be worried though as he sits more than 50,000 places higher within the top 5,000.

The four next high scoring managers, who all receive a £10 FanDuel credit, were Captainjpd, Delt_eple, DJDave1979 and Dogba.

Andy85wsm, the competition’s only Scoutcast representative to make it past the first round, marches on. He beat Lardy to set up a third round tie with Anuliz.

Two other members of our moderator and contributor team also make it through. Greenwindmill will face Archie, while Stilicho squares up to lowlifegimpe in round three.

Other notable match ups in the next round include Lateriser12’s encounter with The TinMan, Parm’s tie with TommyJ and What the Fans Say community article writer Bolivian Seaman’s clash with Al Fresco.

The manager to draw the short straw in round three is 433,854 ranked Malvern Angells. He faces Dempele, who at 177th is the highest placed manager remaining in the tournament.

The second round results can be found via this link, while the full third round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

It will be difficult for Puel to get his players on the bus home after 2nd leg. "But coach, I'm a Liverpool player now. Bye."

Why would they talk to the bus instead of just getting on it? 😕

I went for Delle Ali as Theo replacement. Already regret it, smacks of desparation & trying to be too clever. I hate this season 🙁

I'm seriously looking at Kane -> Ibra GW18. West Ham were awful but United have been looking much better going forward in recent weeks. They're not finishing their chances in the league but they're creating plenty and I reckon it's only a matter of time before they start banging in a few.

What level of exam is this and where do you want to go and what do you want to study?

I did my degree part time when working full time I started it when I was 26. I know for a fact if I had went to uni at 18 I'd have done zero work and flunked out.

Not sure on what I want to study just yet, engineering of some sort I think.

Flunking out would not be an option at all for me, reckon my Da would shoot me dead

Liverpool fixtures tighten up around GW 17 i had that marked as a time to go from 2 to 1 assets.. now Coutinho is gone i would be wary of going without any even if fixtures are more difficult on paper.. but you can't have them all

        Aye.

I think as much as I love fpl discussion it generally leads to an acceptable set of players/transfers/structure.

On a basic level Koscielny has done nothing for me at all worth his cash.

And Hazard is an upgrade on Firmino.

I just mean recently. He's come in, scored against Sunderland and against Leeds. Before that it was maybe Burton and I'll take a stab at Derby. So he's scored against one PL standard team this season, I can't really base much off that. That also comes down to minutes. Which is why I want to see a bit more of him in the PL.

He's a young guy playing at a high level, no question of talent. Tbh, my question of him even before he signed for Pool was whether or not he was best suited to CF or more of a winger/wing forward role.

End of last season he was playing a lot, including in the premier league. Kept Danny boy out for some big games. I've seen plenty enough to have very high hopes for him.
Yeah total striker though. Don't see him as a wide forward at all.

            1. Somalion
              • 14 Years

Not difficult in some ways when Danny doesn't suit Klopp remotely though. The weird thing though is he was doing something quite similar to what Sturridge does, in that when he was getting 20/30 minutes he'd score, but games he'd play nearly full minutes he wouldn't take a single chance. Players like that can be very hard to gauge.

The most I've seen of him was Ligue 1, when he was playing week in week out and his goal out put was poor for a CF. 8 goals in 2200 minutes (33 appearances) He was young, so I don't judge too heavily against him there but it has ever since kept a question in my mind of just where he is best suited to play. 21 now, 22 in April, would like to start getting an idea of where he's going to be.

Sure, just pointing out he's played a lot. 10 goals last season in 1600 minutes, and not a bad performance amongst them iirc.
Fair enough, you actually watched him in Ligue 1. I didn't. Heard he was terrible.
Since being at pool he has definitely established himself as CF. That will be his future, for club and country I'd imagine.

I suppose I'd just like to see some more. Like to see if he's going to actually establish himself as a starting Pool player. I think by 22/23 he needs to start making that push or needs to go out on loan elsewhere and play frequent league games for another team.

Yeah, though I thought people were unduly harsh on him tbh, but I often found him very disappointing, so it's hard to know if he gets frequent gametime with lots of 80/90 minute appearances if that same player will reappear or if it'll be someone more prolific.

                    Interesting.
Yeah Firmino looks to be a lock at cf now for klopp, when all are fit. I think he seems to have the required mentality to develop well on the fringes of the XI though. He won't be going out on loan again. Could see him being sold at a profit in a couple years if he isn't starting regularly by then. Much like his compatriot Lukaku.

This is the beauty of the BB chip. You can have both excellent DGW options as well as keeping you excellent "normal" players.

And let's be honest, last year one of the DGWs occurred in GW 37 - you should be able to find a good compromise.

I got over 260 points combined in the two DGWs last year - well above average on here (and in general) if I recall correctly. The DGWs can be a great source of points combined with chips if you plan accordingly.

From GW 30 when I started slowly started planning for DGWs until the end of last season I rose from 60K OR -> 5K OR. A big part of that was DGWs in my opinion.

Your bench in a DGW could be
DGW GK, Aguero, DGW DEF, DGW DEF for a -4 or -8.

Massive amount of luck required to make it work in a dgw without wrecking your team either side of the dgw.

What if you had SGW options in a DGW that had fixtures to cover blank weeks and a good single fixture in the double?

Was that not Spurs last year? I could be wrong.

I preferred H&P to Louie at least.

Has some great episodes in between if you like that sort of thing. Some of the extended dialogue scenes are crazy! Every episode was (perhaps written), rehearsed, filmed and edited in a week.
Look forward to episode 5 or 7 with the woman's story!

Unfortunately I think they will end up focusing more on twists, surprises and western sequences than dealing with the stuff that really makes the show great. AI, consciousness etc. Good dialogues as well.

Great performances from the actors, well made including beautifully shot, music and everything is quality.

And a huge fan of Anthony..

Aha. Well I thought she was an amazing actor in Borgen. Nowhere near as impressive in Westworld. Good just not on the same level. Maybe it's the language?

Yeah I think it took a toll on her as well to act in a foreign language. As you can hear, she is struggling sometimes. Overall I think she did a decent job considering her lack of experience acting in English.

For Copenhagen definitely. Can't say I know a lot about stuff to do in Aalborg.

What are you looking to do?

                    Architecture, museums, nature, bars, restaurants?

Just checked you profile and I have to say that I don't think we can compete with the nature you have in Scotland 🙂

Things I would recommend in Copenhagen would be:

                        - Christiania - you will have to read up on it beforehand, but a military area, which got occupied by "hippies" in the 70's and has developed from there. Up until a few year's ago it was still owned by the government, when they sold it to the people who lived they. They obviously couldn't afford it, but because of the cultural significance of the place, they raised enough money from the public to buy it.
                        - Glyptoteket - A very beautiful museum containing mostly sculptures, a few artifacts, paintings and changing exhibitions. Just a really beautiful place to visit for the building itself, the ambience of the ground floor rooms and their items.
                        - Lousiana - A very well equipped museum a bit north of Copenhagen in beautiful surroundings with an excellent view to the sea.
                        - Marble Church - Beautiful church located in an area where you can see Amalienborg (the Queen's palace) and the Opera from Amaliehaven. Very close to the bit touristy Nyhavn, but still worth a quick stroll.
                        - Bars worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood:
Mikkeler Bar, Ruby, The Jane, Mikkeler & Friends. Also make sure to visit our equivalent to a pub, a bodega. Try Bobi Bar, Byens Kro, Palæ Bar or one of these places, as it is very typical Danish (disclaimer: in some of these bodegas, you can smoke inside).
                        - Stevns Klint (Stevn's Cliff) or Møns Klint (Moen's Cliff) are probably two of the only nature sites in Denmark that could be interesting. Steve's Cliff a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Both a few hours outside of Copenhagen.

These are some suggestions. Let me know if you want any further suggestions or any other advice 🙂

Definitely. Had a tough time actually thinking of what could be fun to see here 😉

Other than the obvious fact that Copenhagen should (only) be visited during the summer, I hope you enjoy your visit here.

I've been following Humans quite closely too. Strange, two shows about consciousness in androids cropping up at the same time (well, 1st season of Humans was out a while ago, 2nd season now)

You have a long way to go in WW 😉 I was very impressed with the show after 3-5 episodes, but it kind of lost me a bit in the episodes thereafter. Brought me right back in with the last 1-2, so it will be interesting to see how they tie up the first season.

Think Burnley are woeful though and Pieters will have the best odds of the 3 to keep a clean sheet. I'd probably bench Holebas and put him as first sub. Coming back from injury, Watford not in excellent form.
