The Big Numbers – Gameweek 3

We turn to the Opta data next for our regular post-Gameweek check on the top performers over the weekend for members.

A host of midfielders catch the eye this week, with assets from Liverpool, Spurs, Leicester and Stoke all impressing. The growing influence of Burnley’s playmaker is also highlighted as we also check in on Manchester City’s left-back debutant at the Vitality Stadium.

Do you think that the likes of Mark/Wild Rover realised that they would be getting puny, miniscule price rises before they hit the Wildcard button?

It slow pace of the price rises this season seems to have taken a lot of wildcarders by surprise.

I only hit the wildcard button after a couple of days of deliberation. Haven't got any price rises, but because there are so few, I think we should be targeting them even more. A bit regretful that I didn't decide sooner.

Was increasing team value one of your reasons for wildcarding?

There are 10 days to go till the deadline. Plenty will happen between now and then, transfer window, national duties, etc.

And anyway, a lot of people aren't wildcarding just because of price rises. They are doing it because their teams are a mess, like myself.

        Incorrect.

He rejected Chelsea because he doesn't want to play as a wingback and most probably would've been on bench most of the time.

At Liverpool he can play in middle and more chances of gaining a starting soit

Can anyone advise who they think the best forwards are in the 7.1m and below field?

Saving wildcard and may need gabbi replacement at some stage.

Are Tammy and ayew viable? Is jrod worth the saving? Or is Chicha the man?

    Thanks

Why would you want him? Looking at his stats he's played 95 games in his career and scored 5 goals!

Unless he's an assist king, which I can't see the stats for?

      1. Camp No No
        • 10 Years

He's also quite young, so it's very likely he'll still improve.

Although it is unlikely he'll score more goals+assists per 90 at Swans than at Bayern. For obvious reasons.

Plan to hold WC for now

    Ryan Elliot
    Jones Stephens Daniels Mee Long
    Salah Eriksen Pogba Gross Carroll
    Lukaku Firmino Gabbiadini

    4.5ITB 0FT

Would love to spare one more transfer just in case anyone gets injured after the international fixtures but looks like Daniels and Gross are going to drop tonight.

Hold. Im in a similar position - your team isn't bad at all, just maybe not bang on. Still early days yet and was reading on here, that most hits taken for transfer is right after the 2nd international break. Id wait till then, I think playing your WC could now back fire.

Tempting, isn't it? I'd probably downgrade one of Mikhi or Pogba to, say, Pedro and squeeze Tammy in instead of DCL. I'm an Evertonian and DCL is great, and Koeman clearly loves him, but once everyone is fit, even if we don't sign another striker (which we probably will), he'll only be sub.

We've spent a total of £4 million when you look at our net spend this summer. Now Gibbs has gone, we've actually made money. Load of rubbish and lies if we don't have enough to buy anyone. Over 100 million in the bank.

Personally, I think Arsenal should sell Ozil, Ox, Wilshere, Sanchez and Mustafi and buy VVD, N'Zonzi and Lemar. Then play:

      Cech
      VVD Monreal Kos

So its about -8, for up to -16 if necessary

Depends what you're using it for too. -12 hits are a bit excessive, not to say I haven't done it or it can't work but how many points extra are you seriously expecting from changing one good team to another? If it's absolutely necessary there's no way I'd hold a wc if I had one.

Well I could work out it with my ft and maybe one hit, but than I saw prices are changing and made some transfers that could wait I guess, now I hope to cover that -12, especially if next week be a low scoring one

      would -12 and 2FTs.
Tend to work on the assumption i'd be wanting to change at least 7 or 8 players before i'd wildcard.

Apparently Newcastle have had 4 Spanish players score for them in the PL. I can name three - who is the fourth?

    - Luque (the glory days when Milner played for Newcastle and they were in Europe)
    - Perez
    - Joselu

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be paid £125,000-a-week by Liverpool. Turned down a £180,000-a-week new Arsenal contract. (Source: @SkyKaveh)

Lets be real here. You have to be a bit dim to think Ox was offered £180,000k.

Seen that figure quoted a few times. Goes in line with what others are earning at Arsenal..i.e. Walcott

He wasn't offered 180k by Arsenal. That's the club making the player look the bad guy when they're just inept to conduct business.

Yeah why not? To be honest £infinity = £infinity +1, and no-one will remember his salary. He wants to play and he wants to win things. That's my rather simplistic take on it.
