The start of the new season is just days away and the Scoutcast crew are still full of doubts about their 15-man Fantasy Premier League squads.

Andy, Az, David and Mark join me to mull over our likely strategies for the start of the 2018/19 campaign as well as reveal our current line-ups.

Across our 82-minute chat, a consensus emerges on backing Manchester City and Liverpool premium assets. But that could all change depending on tomorrow’s transfer deadline day deals and surprise team news.

Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth look set to supply our teams with a supporting cast of bargain enablers due to favourable fixtures. Well, for now at least.

But the groupthink soon breaks down when we discuss forward options, with Mark looking exclusively for value up top, while the rest of us are more keen to splash our cash.

The hive-mind soon returns at the end as we reveal our top choice for the Gameweek 1 armband, so to help those daring to shun a certain Egyptian we also offer up a host of alternative captaincy options.

      Both PvA and Sakho are good FPL assets imho.

      The question is whether you want a nailed on midfielder or short-term option (most prob) -- try to answer this and you'll solve your own dilemma.

      1) Yeah for guarantee of starting the first few its got to be Silva. Plenty of options to move to if he falls out the team later on

      2) I'd take Coleman for the attacking prospects but no-one else.

      1) I'd pick Bilva -- plays for the better team and should have a starting place at least for the first two gameweeks. Then he could be easily swapped for an Arsenal midfielder.

      2) I'm leaning towards NO Everton defenders atm. Marco Silva is a manager who prefers an attacking approach + conceded a lot @pre-season.

      depending on what you want to do.rotation pair 2x4.5 set and forget 4.5 4.0 but with that comes perhaps lower points output due to budget options also you could get lucky and pick up a fab like from last season good luck

      I’ve got Pickford and Hamer. Was considering Stek as my number 2 but Everton have good fixtures and if they do well, I didn’t want Stek taking up another Everton spot
