Sign up now for next Fantasy Football Scout Charity Cup

February 24th 2018. The big winners were Liverpool and Brighton, who each recorded 4-1 victories in their respective triumphs over West Ham and Championship-bound Swansea.

However, in north London, under the banner of Sparta Rotterdam, a team of FFScout luminaries were also celebrating, as they lifted the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Charity Cup. A real-life football tournament which brought to together over 30 grassroots players from around the country.

The Charity Cup is returning on the afternoon of Saturday 17 November 2018 (during the international break) and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The format will depend on numbers, but with a full 3G 11-a-side pitch (which can also be divided) available to us all afternoon between 2pm and 7pm, we have the capacity and flexibility to structure the day however we wish.

We are extremely fortunate to have secured The Thomas Parmiter Sports Centre in north Watford (WD25 0UU), which is a fabulous facility and is perfectly located just minutes away from Junction 6 of the M1 and Junction 21A of the M25.

For those travelling up from London by train, Garston Station is just 1.5 miles away. We will have the entire venue to ourselves with ample parking and with a number of pubs barely a mile away.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to take part, whatever the level and whether you are fit enough to play all day or just make a cameo appearance. We’ll be organising players into squads so you don’t need to round up a team yourself, although feel free to bring invite a guest player or two to boost the numbers.

All you need to do is email peter.kouwenberg76@gmail.com as soon as possible to confirm your interest and provide your contact details, at which point you’ll be added to the relevant WhatsApp group unless you would prefer to be kept informed by email or text instead.

February’s tournament proved a huge success and raised over £1,000 for Melanoma Research Foundation. This year we hope to raise more even money, involve even more as we donate to men’s mental health charity CALM.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. On average, 12 men take their own life every day – more than three times the number of women.

Two of my uncles committed suicide so I personally think it’s a great cause. CALM works to prevent male suicide by providing services for men who are down or in crisis, and by campaigning for culture change so men feel able to seek help.

To donate please visit our JustGiving page:

All money raised will go directly to the charity, so please give generously.

CALM’s helpline – 0800 58 58 58 – and webchat are open daily 5pm-midnight. It’s free, anonymous and confidential.

For more information about CALM and the impact your donation will have, please read here.

CALM is a charity registered in England and Wales (1110621) and in Scotland (SC044347)

With no obvious transfers required is it crazy to consider the Kane/Salah hokey cokey?

1FT. Would you rather transfer Salah or Dilva?
Dilva played 63 mins yesterday, so still believe he can make it in the starting eleven this weekend.
Salah to Sterling for two weeks is very tempting. I’m missing Aguero in my team, so Sterling would be the only logical Captain pick this weekend too.

I dont think it's really poor. For eg, I can do a team with Salah, Hazard, Kane (without Kun):

      Ederson (Hamer)
      Alonso, Mendy, Robertson, TAA, (AWB)
      Salah, Hazard, Richarlison, Fraser, (Stephens)
      Kane, Jimenez, (Kamara).

Kane can be swapped for Kun, depending on fixtures.

We have similar teams, and I've been thoinking about that move a lot. Mane's stats have absolutely crashed and I'm not confident about returns over the next two weeks. Thing is, I'll almost certainly want him back for GW9. Their run from then is too good. Still have my WC but at the moment I'm losing 0.3 if I cash in now and then buy him back at 10.0. I guess it comes down to exactly how well you think Rich will do. I'm an Evertonian, have crammed the stats, and I'm still not sure.

Whatever decision I make, it's going to be an entertaining weekend of FPL/EPL.
Pool's fixtures look good after Chelsea and City.
But whether I can make some grounds with a cheeky Richarlison/Madisson is the question

Have Mane as well. No idea what to do. Don't have Hazard but now is not the time to bring him in imo.

Picked Richarlison last week and quite happy with him even though his stats are not the best. Looked lively in 1st half.

Don't have Maddison/Vardy and would like to have one of those. Prefer Vardy so might even take a hit for Mane Ings to Vardy xxx

I don't know about that... Huddersfield is an easier game and with Barca next week they could easily field the stronger team tonight to give them a break on the weekend.

          Yep

Eriksen and Kane are nailed, so it's 4 players for 2 positions: Moura, Alli, Son and Lamela.

Lamela is 2nd choice I think and will come off the bench mostly for Son. So I think Moura will rotate with Alli... just my best guess because no-one really knows.

My opinion is to keep Moura if you have him and do not get him in if you don't. Seeing how they line up tonight might give a better impression, but they could easily play a stronger team today with Huddersfield on the weekend and then play their stronger team again when hosting Barca...

    Hart - (Foster)

    Hazard - Salah - Neves - Fraser - (Stephens)
    Aguero - Zaha - Arny

Just watched the scoutcast and saw about Andy's possible transfer plan to get in Kane - and I had a similar idea a couple days ago but haven't pulled the trigger as of yet.

However, I just looked at my team and realised that instead of shipping Salah to fund Kane I can do it via shipping Hazard who I got in 3 GW's ago. So Haz > Richarlison and Zaha > Kane I have exact funds.

Chelsea also have 2 tough fixtures in the next 3 and if he's not someone we're thrilled about C against Southampton (A) then I think he's the better option to make way. The good thing about this move instead is that I won't be locked into getting Hazard back straight away like I would with Salah who I'm definitely going to want back for Hudds and Cardiff. Chelsea follow up after United with Burnley (A) Palace (H) - Hazard would be nice for them, but not essential - so it can be wait and see.

I gave it a long thought but came to the conclusion that taking Salah out is not worth it for out-of-form Kane even with his fixtures as it would require a hit (or two!) for me. It could pay off but that would likely require Salah blanking both of next two to cover the cost of transfers. And I can see him doing well against Alonso. Sarri struggled against Liverpool with Roma as well.

In your situation it's different as Hazard has 2/3 tough fixtures (yes, still considering Utd a tough fixture on average) and you get to keep Salah. And getting in Richarlison plays a factor there.

No clear answer. It's all about how much you're willing to risk.

Bench 3 out of this lot?!

    A) Pedro (LIV)
    B) PVA (bou)
    C) AWB (bou)
    D) Hughes (ars)
    E) Doherty (SOU)
    F) Fraser (CRY)

Also would you keep Pedro or switch to Rich/ Madd for a hit (I don’t have Haz)?

Bench A, C, D imo. Would take a hit for Richarlison as he is likely to make up the -4 against Fulham.

    3. Eytexi

A, C, D for me. Pedro rotation risk against a defensively solid Liverpool. AWB clean sheet seems unlikely, but that's covered by PVA who offers better attacking returns. Hughes didn't seem lively against Fulham despite the assist - Arsenal back to back clean sheets very possible.

Rotation risk too far. Bilva better option if you want a City mid.

Who’s the better option this week, Maddison or Zaha?
    Thanks.

Bournemouth just conceded 6 goals against Burnley and Blackburn. I'd go with Zaha

I was leaning that way but having Maddison on the bench scares me a little. Thanks.

Who do I captain with this team?

    Fabianski
    Robertson - Trippier - Doherty
    Salah - Hazard - Eriksen - D.Silva - Fraser
    Zaha - Mitrovic

    Hennessey, Ings, Wan-Bissaka, Bennett

This team has served me very well the past few GWs, but unfortunately this upcoming GW is missing an obviously great captain pick. I'm stuck captaining either Salah or Hazard in a tough fixture against each other, or gambling on D.Silva actually starting :/

Wouldn't mind captaining Salah against Alonso. Mitro is not the worst punt against leaky Everton.

      I'd put it on Mitro.

Thanks all. Mitro sounds like an interesting punt, so I'll keep that one in mind over the week 🙂

Agu... oh what, you don't have him?! Eriksen or Mitrovic... I fancy Eriksen to do well this week and I mean you've kept faith for so long (unless you've just got him in for these fixtures)

      Salah

Not sure if this is possible or not or it's been mentioned before but....

It would be great if you could filter the comparison tool to only show 'against big six opposition'

    ederson
    alonso - robertson - doherty
    salah - mane - maddison - fraser
    aguero (c) - zaha - ings

hamer - wan bissaka - westwood - mendy

Plan - Short term move for next 2 gameweeks only, then swap salah & kane again in GW 9.

    GW 7 - salah & ings >> richarlison & kane

    Appreciate yer thoughts guys.
    Thanks.

Which way do you lot use arrows? If i were to bring in Jesus for Aguero e.g. then id do Aguero < Jesus. Bigger one faces player i want to bring in cause i think hes better?

It's used as a directional arrow so it would be Kun > Jesus. I usually put Kun -->> Jesus

It's a bit confusing. I just make them like an actual arrows like xxx -> yyy or just write xxx to yyy

Agreed. Would make it way less tempting to bring in Kane.
